I... Like this depiction of Fate. Yes, you'll be a slave- but he's forthcoming with it. He's offering you power, but warns you that doing so means losing freedom. Patience and Kindness offer- as Fate points out- 'honeyed words', but despite their offers, you'll be a pawn in their game. Fate, while cold, is perfectly willing to tell you straight-up that "you're already a pawn in my game.", while also giving you the choice to take his offer or not, and telling you what it entails- you'll gain power, but be bound to your fate, unable to escape the fate that lies ahead.

As for the Choice, while human spite is a thing, and powerful, we're playing with a partial deck here. What makes this choice, bluntly impossible for me, is we don't know the stake of the game for the other players. I do believe Patience is detached and such but does just want Alexandra alive, consider he made her that way, and we give her a reason to go on without them havin' to step in. Win win if we survive but, cant ever trust someone whose face we never seen. Kindness's undescript favor aint promisin', and as for Fate, well I don't think his actually showing his hand. I think his showing a bluff with honesty. Esspiecally with all that mention of Oblivion. Of all the powers that fate could offer, why, specifically, oblivion? An end to all things. Even immortal things? Yea, that don't read well with me. They all got a reason to see her live, so I say human spite. Cause either they got to let you die and all this fall through which is a lose for all of them, you succeed, or, their hand is forced to act deal or no.

Kindness' power is just not useful for the combat scenario Alexandria is in, Patience's boon might not be enough for an old man and lesser swordsman to tip the scales. But the raw power of oblivion ? Yeah, that will do it. Fate is giving him the ability to win, a chance to be with her even longer, he is invested in her staying alive and his blessing will be perfect for the day when she wants to pass on. He is being honest, direct and stating quite plainly that someone with half baked resolve should not embark on the road he is setting.
