Both will work! I believe the td04 is a little smaller so it should spool better. I might be wrong tho. Either way go with the smaller one!

Btw if it hans't been done already, PLEASE, check the oil pickup and oil pump. Thats what killed mine, pickup got gunked up with the chain tensionning material and other nasty stuff and starved the engine of oil. And since the previous owner installed an oil pressure switch with a lower threshold so I wouldnt see the low oil pressure light, I never caught it in time... SO replace that, its cheap and pretty easy with a gutted engine bay (not so much if its stock and unmodified)

tbh buying a used turbo isn't normally an issue. You probably had an issue with oil delivery and it fucked the bearings and ate itself alive.
