@afruitmedley3658 жыл бұрын
AllisterBlack Are you Italian? I am, and that accent was definitely not Neapolitan dialect.
@areuswhite96708 жыл бұрын
a fruit medley First, dialect and accent are two different things. If you were actually Italian, you would know his accent is CLEARLY a Naples accent, and that he is speaking Florence (modern italian) dialect. I just googles where Gino is from, and I confirmed he is from Naples. I'm not sure why you would pretend to be something you're not.
@afruitmedley3658 жыл бұрын
AllisterBlack Firstly, you didn't answer if you were Italian yourself. It seems like you aren't, given that your name is Allister. Secondly, I am perfectly aware of the difference between a dialect and an accent; my mother teaches Italian. Thirdly, I only said he speaks with a posh accent. You yourself pointed out that he was speaking in Florentine dialect (you wrote it wrong and put Florence, but that is neither here nor there). Thus, it is irrelevant that he is in fact from Naples as he does not speak in a Neapolitan accent (by the way, you also got this one wrong). This is very common when people wish to sound more eloquent in formal situations. For example, in my Italian hometown of Cassino (although I currently live in England), there is a very strong local dialect that my family and I use. However, I have noticed that, when my mother teaches Italian classes, all traces of her local vernacular disappear. In conclusion, I don't contest that Gino is from Naples, nor that he probably has a strong Neapolitan accent that he could use if he chose to use it. I merely stated in my comment that he spoke posh in the video; I didn't say that that was his real (original) accent. By the way, don't ever accuse someone about their heritage whom you know nothing about. Some people take serious offence to this. I am 100% certified Italian, and I couldn't care less if you doubted me. Why did you even comment with such aggression? Is something wrong?
@areuswhite96708 жыл бұрын
