But there is also how you produced. for the Felt Forum in New York I used 3 Mixers. One for monitors, one for the room and me mixing only for Stereo TV. And even if it was mixed the Live recording is crucial for the sound techs as the EQ is affected by the venue and they have to work carefully so the final product can be Re- EQ if needed or just re mixed.

Gino Vanelli's Brother to Brother is like a movement from a Rock/Jazz Opera. But way beyond rock/jazz fusion work by other talented artists. The drummer is absolutely beyond five stars. Inspired musicians the whole bunch. For a live performance ... it's better than the recorded version. Simply electrifying and magical. I've been listening to Vanelli since the 70s. This is not retro legacy music. Its now. Timeless. Yes, absolutely classic but listen up ... Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Pink Floyd ... you get the association? The genius of their work never gets old, never dated. Decades, even centuries later, we never forget. If and when a time capsule of of late 20th century contemporary electric music is made, Vanelli's Brother to Brother will be included.

When Herb Alpert, the co-owner of A&M Records, finally emerged, Vannelli ran toward him and gave him a demo tape while being chased by security guards. Who is the drummer in this show.... he is insanely good?
@williamchristian87054 жыл бұрын
@@Loonutzy Sorry I’m not sure. But he’s had many great drummers. Gino started on drums as a young guy. I’ve always thought he likes to turn to his drummers often. I assume he heard a beat he really liked or something. But watch him when it’s a song with more drum emphasis. He will soak in the rhythm and beats and seems to get more energy. Saw him in 76 here at the LA Forum.

Thanks William! This band is insanely good. I did some research and I'm pretty sure this drummer is Reinhardt Melz.

Absolutely amazing!! I've been listening to Gino since the mid 70s, on vinyl, CD and now on my playlist. Will never tire of his work. All the very best, Mr Gino Vannelli.

After all these years still a SENSATIONAL VOICE ! THIS GUY IS MAGIC...💖

Holy Cow! He has notably greater command of his voice and performance skills now than ever before! And since he was spectacular as a younger man... that's saying a lot! SOOOO inspiring, such musical excellence, such passion, nuance, and continues to surround himself with outstanding musicians! And even sexier than when he was 26! Oh gosh! I just burned my dinner!!!

Breathtaking... OH... how I didn't want it to end! Please... don't let it end Maestro Vannelli, my "Earth God of Music." Never... EVER let it end. ❤

this is what I keep saying. I was at this concert! I couldn't understand why his voice sounded as good as it did when I first heard him in the 70"s!

He doesn’t. The band in this video is tuned down 1/2 step from the original song. Still an amazing singer by any measure.

Thank you Gino and Joe, first of all for recording this song. You have no idea of the impact it had on me as a drummer and musician, since 1979....it never gets old

I was lucky enough to see this show in Argentina, it was spectacular!!! All my time as a music student I was a fan of Gino, back in the late 70's. And I still listen to it today, and it continues to generate the same wonderful emotion of those years. Thanks Gino & Joe Vannelli. God bless them!!!

And don't forget brother Ross. He wrote 'I Just Wanna Stop' and does/did sound for the band, which is why everyone I've met who saw a Gino gig said it was the best-sounding concert they had ever attended.

Gino has been a giant who has walked among us. A gentle giant, but a giant nonetheless. I've seen him in concert around a dozen times or so have met him a few times, and he is utterly charming. A phenomenal musician, and a guy who has worked very hard at perfecting his craft, and perfecting himself as a man. Bravo!!
