I shared a practice room with the drummer, Reinhardt Melz, 1st year in college. At 18 yrs old he already had a solid sense of musicianship way beyond his years. Learned so much from him. Always loved this classic Gino tune. Great to hear you play on it, my matched grip brother!

The bassist is def having the time of his life - having studied, practised, tried to get gigs, landing this one, playing a prestigious festival - doesn't get better than this when you connect with your instrument on such an organic level that you don't even need to look at your fretboard - just pure connection and joy! Great hearing a more "jazzy" approach to this epic tune! I kinda miss those old drum kits with a lot of toms, but the more modern approach including more snare works just fine with me. As usual with Gino Vanelli: all musicians are at least a notch above top notch ;-)

The record is so iconic, all the musicians were so in the moment, maybe the song can never be re-created. What Mark Craney and Carlo Rios did is a hard act to follow. But Mr/ Vannelli can hardly not do one of his most popular songs.
