I just saw Gino Vannelli in concert on Sept 2, 2023. He was GREAT!!! His voice is STILL incredible and his backup band is fantastic. We had a great time. He is so worth seeing if you are a fan of Gino's!! We saw him in a small venue and when the encore came we were "invited" to come up close to the stage! That was such a treat! It was a very memorable and wonderful concert! Thank you Gino - you are the BEST!!

Gino changed the way I see music. This is Nightwalker. I walked through the entire city centre in 1981 hunting for this LP. I had spent six months in my dorm university listening entranced to Brother2Brother on my friend's Bell recorder. We were only 17 - but this music captivated us. The rest is history. Gino is genius. Everything about him is. Ahead of his time. Gino has had a huge impact on my life. All I can say. Nightwalker takes me back way back. But seems like yesterday. What nostalgia. Gino the best!

Gino Vannelli.....the Greatest singer on the planet!!! I saw Gino on the Brother to Brother Tour 1977 with his brother Joe Vannelli-Keyboards, Daryl Struemer-Guitar, Jimmy Haslip-Bass, the late great Mark Craney on drum kit, Johnny Mandel-percussion, Brad Cole-Keyboards, Bill Meyers-Keyboards, Stephanie Spuirell, Maxine Waters Tillman,Julia Waters-backing vocals....and that concert still lingers in my mind, memories and spirit as the greatest most jaw dropping music event I’ve EVER witnessed. Gino Vannelli and that phenomenal band and singers were beyond compare. And the sound/production was outstanding. What a concert....What an evening. SO....Happy 71 years young Gino 🎉🎂🎈and God bless you Brother.😎🥁

The music is so sophisticated. It's got the LA slickness (what a band) but it also is anchored in the jazz realm which was so bountiful in the 50"s in Montreal. And of course the pipes on Gino are without peer. Effortless and never an off note. Oh, and he still delivers like a matador. There is nothing quite like this.

Music like this must sound really weird to 90 % of today's listeners b/c there's no auto-tune on the vocals and no quantization on the drums. Also, the keyboard guy plays practically freely, let alone the guitar and bass. And the drummer!

Brazil, November 6, 2022 Gino Vannelli is like a wine. And the most expensive. While for many the time comes and takes away all the brilliance that once existed, for Gino it only magnified it. Not just for the voice, but for the looks. Leaving aside the hair and assuming a more sober appearance, we find a gentleman of the highest category. While the original version of "Nightwalker" might seem a little edgier, this show's version is a great gift to all fans for maintaining the fullness of genius. Gino Vannelli is a master of good taste and musical sentimentality.

I remember first time hearing Gino Vannelli in the 70`s, I was totally blown away. I was/is a jazz/fusion man and was missing the excitement in pop music and suddenly Gino Vannelli was there with his "pop on speed" unlike any other pop music at that time. Very unique. And he´s still a great singer and what a band(especially the drummer i s amonster). If I should mention other bands that have the same energy, skills and pop melodies, it would be the latest songs with Dirty loops(Rock you, next to you e.t.c.)
@frazzleface7533 жыл бұрын
I had a similar experience to you recently. My first love is jazz and non-vocal stuff, but I found Gino quite by chance a couple of years ago and discovered a 'pop' artist who makes his pop a truly unique and creative endeavor, and of course has utilized some great fusion acts over the years - Jimmy Haslip, Carlos Rios to name but two.

Let me know when you are ready for the trip to see Gino's ' concert. I grew up in Poland and I'm living in Chicago now since 1990. I don't categorise music anymore. Gino's music is a very significant. and influential part of my emotional world and imagination. It doesn't matter if he is understood or known or highly rated or underrated. People who love him and his music are a part of the clique. You can be a man or a woman or a cat or a dog....... or wherever you come from...if you apreciate his music I'm sure we have whole lotta in common and you are welcome to my house. I love you Gino as a singer as a musician as a composer and lirycist and most of all as a most honest and very emotional man/artist I have ever encountered in my live. In 1976 you performed in Nashville, Tennessee at War Memorial during the summer as I was attending Tennessee State University. I was a sophomore at the time and two other college friends attended your concert. Granted it was a small audience, however, you stated, "I am going to perform as if it is sold out." And that you did. We gave a standing ovation for every song that you performed. I am please to see that you are just as entertaining as you were then.
