Carlos, what would you do if Bruno were to be alive today? And what if he has continued with his work from where he left off, but with having over 400 years of scientific enquiry at his disposal? What if one of the things he is espousing is the unified field? And another, dispelling Darwinism?Would you want to join forces with him?

I've been fascinated with Bruno since I was a girl and read a quote of his about the nature of the stars and possibility of other worlds. I don't think he returned to Italy for just one reason. He hinted many times that he thought the fire was his fate. Perhaps, he wanted to challenge a church that had hounded his footsteps for far too long. Perhaps, he had grown tired of running. I do not agree he was arrogant as some think. I think it was just the opposite. I have wondered, at times, if he wasn't a wounded soul trying to find union within himself. Mystics live by a different set of rules than most people and Bruno definitely was a mystic. I agree, he was looking for a holistic worldview.

Mystic is a human concept. The state of being human is a concept unto itself. Sometimes one is born to lives knowing what it is one must do. Knowing what it is one is meant for can either be a blessing or a curse, depending on point of view., in regards to knowing the fate of a particular life. Souls are prisons, no different than seeds and the flesh they momentarily find themselves in, is the soil required to spark their growth. For more insight into "his" character, Marguerite Porete was a former life of the awareness animating that marionette made of meat once known as Giordano Bruno. After a while, doing the same thing over and over, can become quite tedious😂

Thats because the Catholic Church pedestalize Jesus , in case someone like bruno came along, who also claimed to be a son of God. The same people who took the Old Testament before it was finished during Christ . To take it and translate it through the a “Holy Spirit “. Even though all other messages of God were translated by the Jews like the Quran , Torah , the Old Testament. The Catholic Church promulgated the New Testament. In its attempt to make the bible seem outer worldly . Instead they alienated the bible by making Jesus seem like he was not a human of course they believe in the holy trinity so that’s exactly why.

This reminded of Al-Hallaj's fate as well. Despite the fact that his master, Junayd of Baghdad, told him once that soon he'll be executed if he keeps preaching his words, he never quit the path of truth. He too, died of a gruesome execution, yet his message is still resonating with the seekers.

Cool what was his believe please?
@xkagutaba
@xkagutaba 2 жыл бұрын
@@jamespoff8632 you could say he belongs to the school of sufism, promoting the idea of the true sufi, and sharing the secrets of the divine. although he was a sufi, i'd say he was actually a unique soul, not belonging to any particular '-ism,' specially when you note that he was an outlier, a rogue one, among his sufi peers at the time. his beliefs can well be summarized by his famous saying, "I am the Truth/Real/Reality," for which his master cursed him, since the Truth/Real/Reality (i.e. Al-Haq) is one of the names of Allah in Islam. he repeatedly said it when they were preparing him for the execution. even after his gory execution (which was accompanied by mutilation), when they burned him and scattered his ashes in the river, they could still hear the epoch of "I am the truth" coming from the water and his ashes. he saw himself in god, and saw god in himself. he was one with god, and god was one with him. now what this actually means is another story, and it's a nuanced one. one could say he was burnt by the love of god, just like the Iblis (the devil) according to him. in one of his Shathiyat, he says "I saw my god with the heart's eye. i said, 'who are you?.' he said, 'you.' ... my annihilation was annihilated in my annihilation, and in my annihilation, I found you." also, he apparently used to come up with his own self-created Quranic verses (which is said in Quran that it's not possible, as one of the indications of the miraculous nature of Quran. hence it's a taboo to do such a thing) and utters them in public. he was also a master illusionist. i hope this helps.

I am very fond of Bruno, and your interpretation is very appealing. Perhaps Bruno had such a deep level of understanding, and such a detachment from his own physical survival, that he freely chose martyrdom. I wish that was true, but I somehow doubt it. Bruno is so wonderfully arrogant, he might truly think that the Inquisition cannot fail to finally recognise his genius. Or, after seeking and failing to find worthy students or even colleagues, he decided that the game was no longer worth the candle. The latter is my guess, but I'd like to be wrong.

Typical American individualistic vision, all centered on a romantic, pathetic depiction of a historical figure. The text here does not provide any serious clues as to the actual philosophical tenets held by Giordano, nor it helps us to understand the variegated historical background in which the debate took place. It seems as if people who have no history to reffer to simply cannot understand its complexity, thus they can't do better than turn it into a disneyland cartoon.
