I do nothing to my hair. No heat, no blowdrying. I sleep on a silk pillow with my hair in a braid, I only use silk hair ties. I don’t wear my hair loose or in tight hairstyles. I use rosemary oil daily on my scalp. I do oil treatment bi-weekly and use deep conditioning treatments once a week. My hair has never been dyed. It still look like shit and is thin. Genetics are everything

Number one thing that influences you having or not having long ass hair: genetics

Even if you’re blessed with genetics you have to take care of it. I was blessed with dark think very long very healthy hair, when I was in my early teens it started falling out like crazy to the point that I lost nearly half of it due to too much stress, iron deficiency and etc. It came back later on (I started taking vitamins and doing other stuff for it) but “later on” stands for like 5 years…. So really genetics don’t give you a 100% guarantee.

Unfortunately this is not for everyone. I see you have naturally straight hair and this is the key. It is so easy to take care of. I have medium wavy hair and if I dont do anything with heat it looks messy (hagrid) and simply not done. My hero is the dyson airwrap. Since I use this tool my hair doesnt have any breakage. And I still use conventional curling irons nearly everyday to enhance my natural hair. Just dont leave the strands for 20 sec on the iron, dont let your hair burn and youll see it works.

I have curly hair, but heat is the absolute enemy for me! I have to have specific products to keep the frizz away; I can't blow dry it, can't towel dry it, and cannot brush it whilst dry at all lest it turn into a frizzy mess. 😅 wavy and curly hair with varying porosity and thickness really adds difficulty to maintaining healthy hair.

After all these years experimenting I am 100% convinced that having long healthy hair has alot to do with genetics/genes. Yes its good to care of your hair and there are things that can help but genetics play a "very" "very" big role. Here in Jamaica where I live I know a lot of chinese/Asian women who don't use rice water and I also know a lot of Indian women who don't use coconut oil and they still have very healthy hair almost touching the floor

True, I have wavy, frizzy hair. You cannot just brush them or put something on and be done with it. I use tons of masks and products to get rid of the frizz and define my waves plus braid them every night and still it's a big, frizzy mess that just refuses to take any shape I give it. Straight might not be best for keeping a style but at least when you brush them and go out you look like a human rather than an electrocuted alien.

If you use a shampoo without sulfates it won't strip your scalp/hair as much, so you can wash it more often which makes it look healthier. Also dont be scared of silicones because those give shine and protect the hair. Just make sure to wash it with a sulfate shampoo once in a while. Oh and! Sometimes blow drying is more beneficial for thin hair. It makes it less frizzy and oily. As long as you use the cold setting 💗

@Bigheartoneggshells i used silicone and sulfate free shampoos and it completely ruined my hair. So didn't make my hair healthy at all. I hydrate my hair and then I need those silicones once in a while and wash it off with a Sulfate shampoo, as i already said. Not all products work for everyone, so this was just a tip what works for me. Cause 'skipping' everything made my hair the worse it has ever been.

I have it long, U cut but have face framing layers. kzbin.infoOC76YUC3scs I use something similar in my hair in order to achieve volume. It's from Alina Shmidt. I don't know her but I normally style my hair like her, just with a high bun. But I wouldn't recommend super tight like she does because it will stay flat around the head and with volume at the bottom... I use hair conditioner and when its wet I use a small amount of hair oil. I think the way you detangle your hair when it’s wet makes a huge difference. NEVER use a brush! Use a comb and start at the bottom of the strands and gently work your way up section by section. By doing this, you are not breaking hair strands into shorter strands because you are not forcing your comb through knots top to bottom. It’s worked for me. I’ve had long hair for most of my life and have been doing this since I was about 13 when I saw the tip in a magazine.

I remember a doctor once told me, “genetics provide the gun, and what you do every day loads the trigger” for the outcome that you see in your daily life and physical health. Yes, you may have a predisposition for silky, full hair. However, if you eat terribly, have no exercise, and live a life of high stress- that can counteract your predisposition. Do the best you can to be healthy and take care of yourself.

As long as I keep up with the ends, it retains its length and the growth shows. But for all the hair tutorials I've found that use tonnes of gel and several brushes or combs I can't be surprised to see the hair channels with stagnant lengths.

That’s just one factor, and it’s 💯 true but there are other factors impacting your hair condition too, like diet, stress, overthinking, using wrong oil or shampoo, genetics etc.. so don’t be harsh on yourself, take this seriously and get it checked by a good doctor and then accordingly start the procedure to cure it. It takes time and you’ll see more last longing results♥️

I never use heat, only blow dry it 2-3 times a month when I’m in a hurry. My hair are wavy and tangled so I only comb them in the morning before leaving the house and after washing them 2-3 times a week. And I cut it once a year. Everybody asks why my hair grows so fast and thick. And also: do not dye regularly!

Same! I now have to cut it more because it was in my butt, but I do the same thing as you do. Don't use the blow dryer on a regular basis and don't dye my hair. Stopped 4 years ago.

My hair is that long but it's between wavy & curly, like 2b/c. It's hard to get curly hair shiny. I'm constantly fighting frizz. I wear it long with a blunt end cut to pull down the curl. No layers, I end up looking like fuzzy Christmas tree 🎄 Using a large barrel curler helps to give it your look, it makes my hair look more like a blow-out.

i have naturally curly hair but i need to get up early every morning and spray water to my hair then put this curling cream in it then i go to skl and at some point i got tired of doing that so i js started straightening my hair and it is getting rlly damaged so i think i might js go back to my old routine but yeah thank u for making me rethink my decision and stop my unhealthy hair routine!🩷🫶🏼

Maybe you wash your hair everyday, make sure to wash once a week. Also put hair oils in your hair. You can change your diet.

🤍Wash hair less often 🩵Don’t put your hair in high ponytails or buns. 🤍Don’t go to bed with it wet, let it air dry. 🩵Use a little bit of serum or oil to smooth your hair down before bed, and then put your hair in a normal loose braid, no French braids. Regular braid. 🤍Wear a satin bonnet and use satin pillow case. 🩵Wear a jumbo size satin scarf over your head to protect your hair from the sun on super hot days. 🤍Do 5 minute scalp massages with any oil before shampooing with an herbal shampoo. 🩵Eat lots of lean protein, healthy fats, and fresh fruits and veggies. 🤍Drink water for every meal and with your snacks. 🩵Go on a 10 minute walk daily. 🩵🤍🩵🤍Exercise and healthy diet promotes healthy body. Healthy body means healthy hair as long as you don’t chemically damage it. Always treat your hair as if it were a small baby. With kindness and care. 🤍🩵🤍🩵

Take some red onion and some coconut oil. Cook the onion in the oil for 1 hr don't let it burn tho. Then strain it and use 2 hrs before every wash. Not to mention DON'T shampoo everyday. My loose curly hair never grew much in length until I started using this remedi and it grew 8 inches in just one year. It also helped with hairfall.
