Hello Irina! I followed your suggestions, though I didn't have any essence serum, so I put a tiny bit of Olaplex oil on the ends before shampoo #1, followed with applying a hair mask on my very damp hair, leaving it on my hair in a head wrap for an hour prior to shampoo #2, followed with conditioner on the mids/ends only. Afterwards, I used a leave-in conditioner on just the mids/end, a hair mousse (for volume), and added some more Olapex on the very ends before blow drying my hair. Oh my goodness!!! My hair feels and looks amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial. It is greatly appreciated!!🩷

Great video and I totally agree with the main message about the benefits of a layered hair routine. I discovered this by myself 2 years ago, through a process of trial and error. In fact I had found out that in some cases my hair didn't absorb very well a mask, not even after 30 minutes. Actually this is what you too say and probably this is also due to the fact that you prefer using a deep cleansing shampoo. This is good for your scalp but it can be a problem for damaged hair, as in your case. Then your layered moisturising technique address this problem. It's the same for me. If I use a clarifying shampoo, a one layer mask is not enough. The main difference between your and mine hair routine, at least as far as I see, is that I make 2 complete cycles of washing and moisturising. So, the first wash with shampoo is followed by the first mask, then I do the 2nd wash and after that the second mask. Other layers follow using styling products. All in all it is very similar and address the same concern. This is not to say that this method would be useful for everyone. Those who had made critical comments have missed the point: your routine is about the benefits of layering, but that said everyone has to adapt this method to her/his special needs and hair routine. This is true for every video about a hair routine. So for example, since I wash my hair more then once a week, and the layering routine takes time, I only do this in the weekend. The other times when I wash my hair I follow a different and faster routine which is also good: in these cases I don't use a clarifiyng shampoo but a very gentle shampoo. This means that some build-up is not taken away from my hair and it remains a little, but without weighing them down and it is beneficial because it forms a kind of protective film around the hair which is good for those like me who have very thin hair, prone to be frizzy and damaged by the heat. That's why in these cases I don't need a layered moisturising technique but I only use one mask layer. Actually, from the point of view of the health of your scalp you couldn't go on without using from time to time a clarifying shampoo so as to reset your hair by taking away all build up. And this is what I do on a weekly basis. So all in all my hair routine works because is made of a weekly alternation of 2 different techniques. In any case no hair stylist recommend to use a clarifying shampoo more than once a week. When you wash your hair more than once a week you have to use other, milder shampoos.
@irinareina7 ай бұрын
Exactly! Thank you for your message! The cycling technique is genius! I will definitely try it!

@@irinareina You may be also interested in this video I've just discovered. It's about the benefits of using ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) for High porosity hair in order to lower the too high pH typical of the alkaline substances found in shampoos and responsible of our hair hair cuticles raised high and open. According to the author of this video the acidity of ACV helps a lot in lowering the pH of our hair after a shampoo so as to close cuticles and lock in the moisture of a deep conditioner made between the shampoo and the ACV (actually not only ACV but vinegar diluted in water). Obviously one has to rinse out thix mixture after a couple of minutes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXSseaZ3bLiJa7s The benefits of ACV for high porosity hair are also explained in this article published by a tricologist: www.healthline.com/health/apple-cider-vinegar-hair

I do mask layering as well. Shampoo once or twice, rinse, mask one and let it sit for 1-2 minutes, rinse, mask two (can be a different one!) let it sit for 1-2 minutes, rinse, conditioner, rinse. Then leave in conditioner. However, I apply most products to pretty wet hair and don’t wring out the excess water before. For my hair type, applying products to wet instead of damp hair gives more moisture
@irinareina23 күн бұрын
I heard that if hair is too wet, the water can block products and you can waste a lot 🤔 that is interesting that your hair feels better, I should try it too 😌
@jillkx23 күн бұрын
@ that’s what I have heard too. I guess it depends on the hair type. Whenever I squeeze out too much water, my hair feels much drier, despite using two hair masks. Many curly girls use squish to condish method and they usually do it on rather wet than just slightly damp hair too 😊 Mind you, I do use a lot of product, that is true. I really squeeze it into the hair shaft by the squish to condish method but I don’t scrunch my hair (since I always blowdry it straight), I just squeeze it into the hair instead of just applying it if it makes sense

really usefull information and creativity on your part in regards to how you layer your products. you pointed out a lot of things that I noticed myself about my own hair care routine. I used to worry about how my ends would react to my shampoo, and so I use a shampoo for babies since I only have virgin hair, only applying in an exhaustive pattern to my roots. It is just not sustainable, I felt that I was washing it too often and my roots would look wet even on the second day. Maybe I will use this trick and then switch to my original shampoo.

If I added the serum it will make my hair curl up again and frizz it, ruining the look but I do appreciate the explanation of why the hair looks dry, thank you for sharing 😊
@itstawanza7 ай бұрын
The serum is oil/silicon based, not water based, so it won't make your hair curl up again. I suggest only reapplying it every few days so it doesn't become weighed down. I also like the Fanola serums, but you can also use Giovanni Frizz Be Gone, Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, or Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum for the same effect. I only wash once a week, reapply midweek, and it keeps my hair straight the whole time.

Today is the first day I'm doing this hair routine. I used what I own at home, I only applied the method of hair layering routine. The product list will be listed at the end. My hair type: long length 1B, low-medium porosity, medium thickness, medium density. Never been bleached before, virgin hair, frizzy most of the time with slightly oily scalp (since I live in tropical country). This layering method works SOOOOO well on me. I never felt my hair this soft before, even though I was using the same exact products for my hair routine. To be honest, I have never thought of putting hair mask for two hours, yet here I am saying that it works really well on me. I believe each steps in this routine are complimentary and affecting the end result of it. I'm kinda shocked with the first result since I skipped some steps of the routine (I'm kinda lazy to add more product earlier). I probably will update this review of mine soon, once I did it again for a couple more times. Thank you and love you, Irina! --- Product used: - Palm oil, to replace miss en scene serum. - Head and Shoulder Clean and Balanced, for my oily scalp. - Makarizo Hair Energy Fibertherapy Royal Jelly hair mask, for my damaged and frizzy hair. - I skipped conditioner, but I usually use Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Collagen Repair conditioner (gold with pink accent). - I skipped protein cream (never use it before but will try it soon). - Makarizo Hair Energy Vitaglitz Royal Jelly serum, to replace Fanola Smooth Care.

Okay i tried this on my 2a or 2b hair i generally don't prefer wearing my hair in curls but mostly wavy or straight, my hair always frizz up after blow drying too but this layering method made my hair stay smooth till next wash i.e i wash my hairs every 2 days. One suggestion if you don't want to rely on any serums you can use plain almond oil at last layer. One thing i noticed is that curly hair routine is very hard for me , i always prefer washing it as regular hair because i need to comb my hair daily as i go to gym, work, and attend meetings curly girl method left my hair dna all around my home as well as work place. Combing my hair daily twice helped me to keep my hair falling at random places.

Rejuvanique 2) In shower I use revatkize shampoo from Monat. It's very good for fine hair. Not heavy. 3) Instead of conditioner, I put some Monat balance mask on. I comb it out carefully in shower. 4) I rinse in warm and cool water 5) and the game changer is after I towel dry, I use the money studio air dry cream. It's very light and doesn't weigh down my hair which is fine. And it moisturizes. I get sane effect as you.. pantene has a chemical coating. It's not good for hair. I became a seller of money just to get discounts. I dont sell it. I just like to buy the sales. But it changed my hair.

Крутое видео, спасибо! Ночью я сплю на шелковой наволочке, и недавно начала заплетать волосы на ночь регулярно. Можно погуглить night protective hairstyles. Это необязательно косы, можно даже выпрямить их за ночь с помощью лент

Hi Irina! I am trying out this method right now with some of my own products. I have a good feeling about this 🤩 How often do you wash your hair and do you do this every time you wash your hair? Thanks! Loved your videos and your humor :)

I believe in hair and skin intuition, there is no one method that would work for everyone, we should always test. I do layer before washing every time, sometimes I can skip mask if my hair feels good. And cream I try to apply every night, but of course there are days when I can be lazy 😅 I wash my hair every 5 days in average 😌

Cool to see. You just applied LOC method of the 'Natural Hair Community'. Very common hair practice.

I have curly hair, and I came to tell my experience with this layering hair technique as well as some tips: Firstly I should say that the layering works wonders as curly hair is way more dry because the oil from the scalp takes longer to get to the ends of the hair. Layer 1: The idea of protecting with oil before shower is genius. It work wonders, sometimes I even cowash to keep the moisture. Layer 2: Before the mask I particularly sometimes add high acidity products, because I have high porosity. But mostly I apply mask and if you massage rightly trying to detangle each section and being sure that when you pass your hand through it its completely smooth, you gonna have the perfect cuticles after 10-15 minutes of masking. Layer 3: you're probably gonna use a much more heavier cream, hahaha. Otherwise your hair is gonna be frizzy. We curly girls need heavy thick creams to make our hairs shine, don't be shy and put enough (don't worry about modeling your curl yet). Layer 4: I put right after the cream a got quantity of oil in each side as well. Is importante to say that in your day after you will NOT be able to brush your hair like in the video because you curls would get to an end. So you need to enjoy this moment to realy penetrate the oil. And finally you can do your curling routine. I just pass a thick and spaced comb that is gona bring me thick curls and crumple a bit till the curls are made. Layer 5 and layer 6: Here things become different. DON'T BRUSH YOUR HAIR. 🥺 Just get a day after light cream, fix the curls that are dryer and crumple gently the end of the rest of the curls that are still there. Than do the same with the oil, just gently put in the ends of your hair. !!! Don't skip cetin before sleeping, its gonna do wonders. You're gonna definitely have glass curls. It works, you just have to adapt to your own hair. Kisses. 🩷🍒🤌

@Analogmess I'm brazilian, so I use Brazilian products. But i would focus on ingredients: - Hair oil that closes hair cuticuls. - A finishing cream that leaves a glossy appearance. - And you can use a hair acidifier mask for curly hair, as thick as you find. It's gonna help close the moisture.

if I apply this many conditioners to my hair, it gets sooo weird. They stick together and feel oily, I am jealous of how yours is very smooth! This is a great video regardless of my hairs situation

I was previously able to order Fanola from a certain site, but now it seems Amazon is the most accessible. I'm not sure if it's genuine though 😅 This video was so great! I like your advice and product recommendations. I was looking for a video to help me declutter, and you came right through with your beautiful hair and advice 💖

Hi! This routine looks great and I'd definitely like to try it out! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us! I just had some questions, is hair cream the same as a leave-in conditioner? I tried looking up the Loreal Elvive repair total 5 cream you used, but I'm having trouble finding it and was thinking maybe the brand changed the name or something anyways, I do have the AG Fast Food leave-in conditioner and I was wondering if that would do the same thing as the cream?
@irinareina7 ай бұрын
Yeah, you can use leave on conditioner, I even use body lotion when I travel and don’t have hair cream with me 😌

This is how my bleached, naturally curly hair looks good. I need a mask, a conditioner, a leave -in, a serum and an oil - otherwise my hair is a tangled mess 😅😂
@melaniephillips85563 ай бұрын
I also have bleached hair. What saved me and gave me so much regrowth and healthier thicker hair was.... scalp massage daily (at least for 10 minutes). Switch between bond repair pre poo, shampoo, and conditioner, then leave in and hair serum/oil. And then on other wash day (I wash twice a week) scalp oil, clarifying shampoo, hair mask, conditioner, leave in, hair serum/oil. No heat other than blow drying and wearing a silk bonnet. If I do straighten my hair a heat protectant is key!!!! Also no right up dos anymore. Claw clips or the old telephone cord looking hair ties lol
