Ahead of its sparkly 20th anniversary, the BBC announced who would be returning to the Strictly dance floor later this year - and longtime pro Giovanni Pernice was noticeably absent. This follows months of controversy after official complaints from his former celeb partner Amanda Abbington and other stars - all of which Giovanni denies. With three former reality contestants on the panel today, we’ll be giving our take, as well as debating if TV competitions are taken too seriously.

Giovanni is a Professional dancer/teacher. He had reach this position in life by working hard. Did these silly women think it was going to be that easy. To be good at anything you have to put in the work and able to take instructions. Gio has done nothing wrong. He has been on Strictly for many years and helped many celebrities to look good and Rose a winner why all of a sudden has he been accused of these issues for doing a brilliant job.

I have watched strictly from the beginning and time and time again I’ve heard celebrities say how difficult it is, how tiring it is, how many hours per day they have to put in, how many aches, pains, sore feet and bruises they have and that the professionals are hard task masters, I even recall that Erin Boeg’s nick name was miss whiplash because she was a tough teacher. If you want to win then you have to prepared to work really hard, that’s how I see it anyway.

I never used to like Gio but after his season with Rose I changed my opinion. It’s a hard thing to topic to have draw a conclusion on! In one hand we know he is a perfectionist but on the other hand I think people like Laura Whitmore has jumped on Amanda’s bandwagon! She was only unhappy that she was paired with him and he has just split up with her pal! As for Amanda I think she didn’t think it was going to be as hard mentally and physically and he was trying to push her because he could see her potential! It’s just a shame it has marred such a good show!

Even Layton, (who they went on about him being a professional) said Nikita was a tough teacher and sometimes they didn't have a break. There are ways of getting the celebs competitive about the dances than being rude and unprofessional.

Whatever has happened we will soon find out. What I do know is that abusing and threatening another person is wrong and should be punished. We also know that it is usually men abusing women. Women are right to not accept this behaviour and call it out no matter who the man is.

Who is the common denominator in all these allegations……he is. However people are that shallow that they think because he’s Italian and good looking he couldn’t possibly be in the wrong. Not sure why Amanda is taking all the flack when others have spoken up too.Just because you may not like her for whatever reason does not mean she has made anything up. I’m glad he is out of Strictly
