To say Bichette is a singles merchant off of a down year where the league OPS is hovering slightly under 700 maybe a stretch. In a good year, Bichette has around 20 homers and 30 doubles. Only time will tell if his year turns around or if he has truly become a singles merchant.

The had a different batting coach last year and got the same results. Lindor never hits until late June, McNeil needs a change of scenery, and it makes no sense to keep Alonso when you have young guys who can take over the position and probably hit at least as well as he's doing now.

My research says that they had the same hitting instructors last year. As for Alonso, they have no power prospects rwady to fill his shoes. He loves being a Met and is heavily involved in the New York community. He's an approachable and blue collar type guy that the fans love. His defense has improved immensely and he seems to be on the All Star team every year. And when was the last time that the New York Mets had a life time Met player? David Wright? Career shortened. Ed Kranepool. Career unremarkable. He loves the game and New York. If Stearns pulls that trigger it will come back to haunt him. Think M Donald Grant

I think there could be a possibility that Pete Alonso gets traded to the rockies if colorado tries for it, they could trade Brendan Rodgers, Jake Cave, and Elias Diaz for him, and I think if Alonso goes to colorado it might add a couple more years to his career because when hit gets older he'll still have enough power to hit up to 25 home runs in his early 40s at coors.

The Mets need to go all in with their young talent. I'd make Alonso, McNeil, Marte, Davis and Adam Ottavino available. You could get some good young talent back with which to build a young powerhouse team. I'd also be willing to listen to offers for Kodai Senga. If he comes back and performs well, you could get at least one top 20 prospect for him.
