In the Pokédex, it says that it caused too much destruction and it was violent. Ok... we have to destroy something unless we r angry. Something that Arceus create has to make Giratina angry. Am I saying dat arceus accidentally created another Pokémon and it made giratina angry. Well, this is just my opinion. I’m still doing more research for what cause Giratina to be violent. Well, Giratina was aggressive and overprotective of its home because it wants to protect humanity. As you can see, the Reverse World supports the real world and whoever touches something in the reverse world makes our world destroyed. I think Giratina is a good boi and I luv him Giratina also has the power of antimatter, well if antimatter and matter combined, it will explode, maybe it didn’t get banished, I think arceus made a world for Giratina where its antimatter powers are kept Wait a minute... Hoopa has 6 hands, 6 rings, a devil tail, and he could possess ppl, just like in the movie.. Which means hoopa could be the devil, not Giratina Edit: Arceus made the Creation Trio at the Spear Pillar to create the universe before it got banished. I'm having a theory where u can also use the red chains to summon and control Giratina as well or the Lake Guardians can calm it down since they r made to calm the Creation Trio bc of their destructive powers

YumYum BluffyYomYom here’s my personal theory based on text from the game. There are 2 Giratina’s. The 1st Giratina is not on par with Dialga and Palkia but rather Arceus itself. I think the original Giratina is the destroyer god and mate to Arceus the creator god. (You can guess the gender based on that Arceus is likely female and the 1st Giratina is likely male) There had to be a point where the 1st Giratina’s destruction became too counter intuitive to Arceus so she locked him in an actual black hole using Dialga, Palkia, and the 2nd Giratina. Dialga and Palkia as the time and space lock, and the Giratina we know (the 2nd) as the antimatter lock. A black hole there is no time, no space, and no light. Anything that gets close has its matter eliminated. And this is another big hint for the two. There shouldn’t be 2 forms of a beast recorded to be made of antimatter. On the cave painting, Giratina is in its origin form. Not it’s altered form. Meaning there was a point where Giratina sustained its “origin form” and the Giratina we meet is very tame from what the Pokédex says. So I can assume the legends were confused with the confusion of its two forms. The 2nd Giratina is able to escape at will, lives in a world that has light, and is a form of balance based on its actions. (Not to mention the fact it didn’t murder the heck out of Cyrus or anything else for that matter) So the destruction we know of and is recorded, means that the actual destroyer is the 1st. And the event on the cave painting that we see is more than likely the creation trio sealing away the 1st Giratina. They balance either 1st Giratina (as a priority) or Arceus. The other cave painting is the lake trio around Dialga/Palkia. It always just struck me as odd that Arceus is the only creature that is capable of creating eggs without a mate, and it created a world where that was impossible. And the 1st Giratina just fits the bill too nicely from the stuff I’ve described.

My headcannon is that due to Giritina being the anti matter pokemon, its nature is to literally cancel out all matter it comes across, so the distortion world was created as a counterpart to the regular world that would perfectly balance things out.

My theory: 1. Giratina's Origin Form is its true power, a power so strong that its mere presence in our universe tears it apart. 2. Arceus, not wanting to erase what is essentially its child, creates the Distortion World so that Giratina can live in peace without causing damage to our universe. In addition, Arceus also alters Giratina's body so that whenever it enters our world, it changes into its Altered Form to suppress its true power. 3. Arceus is responsible for legendary artifacts like the Red/Blue Orbs and the Creation Trio's orbs. Arceus creatws the Griseous Orb so that should the need arise, Giratina can unleash its true power in our world without tearing it apart.

Yeah and in the anime, when Dialga and Palkia refused to stop fighting, Giratina yeeted himself out of the Distortion World and tried to force Dialga inside. Since as far as we know it never made a move on Palkia, for whatever reason Giratina believed it just had to separate the pair by force. Perhaps kidnapping both would have defeated the purpose as they'd just start fighting in the Distortion World. In a sense. Giratina was forcing others to undergo the same punishment Arceus inflicted on him. When something threatened the fabric of reality, Giratina dragged it to a safe distance.

He seemed pretty chill with Ash etc so I think it is him existing that distorts space and time to much so he was given somewhere he can distort at will as well as won't get aggressive with others. Giratina only attacked Dialga because Palkia and Dialga fighting was polluting his world, which shows how aggressive he must have been to others messing with anything Giratina was doing before he went to the distortion world. I think Giratina is just a victim of its very existence and a bit to quick to anger. Giratina also helped out in trying to quell Arceus and doesn't like it when others mess with space and time.

I personally believe Giratina is supposed to be the ruler of gravity or the ruler of universal laws in the Pokemon universe. people claim him to be antimatter but the fact is if any being made of matter were to enter a realm made completely of antimatter. They would just explode. From what we have studied in the real world, it seems that gravity can alter both space and time if it were strong enough. On the other end, if one could control the laws of reality, they could completely change the effect of certain such as time, space, energy, and so on. I'm not sure if he was a result of Dialga and Palkia being created or if he was created directly at the time purposely by Arceus. That has yet to be confirmed as fact. Why he was known as renegade is also not set in stone, but we could easily assume it would be because he didn't know what his power could do to begin with but, later, enjoyed the abilities such as warping things to an extreme extent or because he himself didn't know why he was made, if he was made as the result of Dialga and Palkia. It seems honestly to me as if his stats in the games should be at least a little bit over what they already are though. It's only my opinion, but it's totally reasonable that if you can trouble the creator of everything with your destructive power as well as the other two that he created, you should be able to have power second to none but the one that could banish you. If I were designing giratina, I think it would look even more intimidating if it were a fire dark type. This would make it look even more like the devil especially since in Japanese dark type means evil type. Giratina would keep the same shape, but it's horns would be on fire and it would have a black void in its chest revealed by the spikes and rings moving away from the center. Giratina could look terrifying with alternative types.

Not that aggressive when you look at literally anything other than Pokedex which was written according to legends, and some NPCs dialogue, where the NPC literaly states that they aren't sure... The best headcanon I've heard is that Giratina is actually a Pokemon controlling gravity. It's said that all 3 of Arceus' creations are equal power. Gravity distorts time and space, most commonly in the form of black holes. See where this is going? It's very likely that Giratina simply didn't realise the effect black holes have on the rest of the world and caused a bunch of cataclysms, leading to it being banished to the distorion world If you look at what the distortion world looks like, you can very clearly see that Giratina was experimenting with gravity, there are even waterfalls going sideways! Giratina simply had to learn how to use gravity safely before being let back in. Due to Giratina being the owner of the distortion world and the distortion world being closely related to our world, Giratina is a some sort of guardian of both worlds. Appearing mostly when needed the most Giratina isn't a villain, it's just majorly misunderstood

My theory is that giratina was created as the destroyer to arceus's creation. Giratina is stated to be an embodiment of antimatter and when antimatter combines with matter, both are destroyed and he was banished because he was a little too good as his job. But he was granted the ability to intervene when dialga or palkia are misusing thier abilities. Or another theory is that arceus wanted his universe to be his idea of perfection and giratina was created to destroy imperfections in arceus' ideal universe. But then giratina discovered that arceus' idea of profection is a universe without him being necessary, so he rebeled and got banished, but not before separating the realm of the mortals from arceus' realm as a final middle finger to arceus. This theory is far more outlandish but would be intresting to explore more at least.

I don't think Giratina is the Devil. I've been playing Pokemon Arceus recently and I just noticed something. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it or not. But... it disturbed me immensely after having noticed it. Giratina looks VERY MUCH like Arceus... in... disturbing ways... Nearly identical color palatte (Giratina has red added only). The eyes are nearly the same shape, color, and size on both Giratina and Arceus. The "gold circle" thing on Arceus seems to have melded to its back and turned into some form of spiky armor. There are now six legs instead of two, but they're seem "similar enough" to warrant looking at. There are now black shadow tendrils coming off of Giratina. These... these Pokemon are disturbingly similar. Why are they disturbingly similar? Let me posit a new theory: Giratina is what happens when the world dies. Or, rather, when someone "gets their wish" of "remaking the world". When the entirety of existence is destroyed... it kills Arceus. It's ability to "change forms" somehow distorts it and transforms it into a Dragon... a DEAD dragon (ghost type!). With the world destroyed and no time and space to adhere to... it rules "The Distortion World". But, what is "The Distortion World"? We've already seen that "Other worlds" exist within Pokemon. Our Ultra Beasts come from one such world. So... What is "The Distortion World"? Why are there so many Giratina? How can it exist across so many games? Why are its Distortion worlds slightly different each time? I posit that Giratina is an Arceus from a Dimension where the world was destroyed. Where the Dimension was shattered and obliterated by people attempting to enslave and use Arceus to "remake the world". After all, what happens when someone tries to pull Arceus into the world to make their wish? Whether it be attempting to use Palkia and Dialga or using the Plates? It doesn't pull Arceus. It pulls open a rift to the Distortion World and Giratina looks in. After all, Arceus hides very well the ability to control it. The "story" and "theories" of how to do it are different each time it's brought up. Oh, you need the two legendaries. Oh, no, you need the Red Chain. Oh, no, you need all the Elemental Plates. The list of methods to "summon" and "control" Arceus are many and varies. Each of these methods doesn't do anything more than separate the veil between worlds. Shattering the boundry. But, only the boundry to worlds that are already destroyed. The only way that ever works to get Arceus is the Azure Flute. An item that is very rare and isn't documented anywhere in Pokemon Lore what-so-ever. It is the only item that can control Arceus. An item that is nigh impossible to obtain. One that ceases working once used. Arceus chooses who gets its power. And, where do we often fight Giratina? "Turn Back Cave". Turn Back from what? From Giratina? Or, maybe, from the future that spawns a Giratina? Giratina is indeed a "Rogue" pokemon that destroys instead of creates. It does so because humanity bid it do so. It shattered reality because humanity had no concept of what would happen if they tried to use Arceus to "remake the world". I spent some time comparing the two Pokemon and how they looked. I spent a little bit of time just going over what little I knew about the two Pokemon and their stories in the games. My conclusion is that Arceus EVOLVES into Giratina... when the world Arceus inhabits is destroyed by humans using its power to "remake the world". This shattered world is "The Distortion World". Cyrus was shown what would happen if he succeeded in Platinum. We were too. But, we failed to realize what was going on. We just thought, "Oh, something went wrong, he accidently summoned Giratina instead." Or, maybe "Giratina tricked him into summoning him, 'cause it's the Pokemon Devil". Except, no. Cyrus got to see exactly what he wanted. Exactly the end point of his wishes and dreams and goals. Reality torn asunder. A world where Arceus is forced to destroy instead of create is a world where there is no Arceus and there is only Giratina. Giratina being the only thing in existence in its world.

In my opinion I don't think Giratina is the Pokemon devil, in the movies Giratina is shown to be violent and vengeful but it isn't shown to be evil as it holds a gentle side those who help it, such as Ash, Pikachu, and shaymin. In the movie Arc eus and the jewel of life, Giratina was still angry at Dialga for unintentionally polluting it's home, but when ash ran over to Giratina it had calmed down and when Sheena touched it's heart and it peacefully returned to the Distortion world. Later in the Arceus movie Giratina joined Palkia and Dialga to defend humans from Arceus. In Pokemon generations Giratina stopped Cyrus from using Palkia and Dialga to destroy the real world and create a new one. When Cyrus was in the Distortion world he described it as "a world without spirit." The only thing that lives in the Distortion is Giratina. I think Giratina may have been violent in the past whether it was because of humans, pokemon, or it possibly being territorial. ( Sorry for my punctuation and grammar errors. )

The most likely explanation is that people could not comprehend how the gods functioned 1. It is stated to be the distortion world by Cyrus so Giratina as we see it could very well be an avatar consistent with arceus being an avatar of the original spirit and Dialga, Palkia and the lake trio being refered to by what they govern 2. It keeps the universe in balance 3. It has shown to care for the universe 4. my personal headcanon is that the Distortion World isn't the place Arceus banished Giratina to. Rather, that Giratina made the Distortion World themselves. My pet theory is that Giratina is the Void to Dialga's Time and Palkia's Space, a sort of countering force, hence why Giratina is the strongest of the trio. What is Space and Time to the all-consuming, timeless expanse of the Void? This is where Arceus banished Giratina to, a realm of chaotic nothingness, where Giratina could exercise its powers and natural expression without risk of destroying the world that Arceus had created with the trio. I'm of the belief that Giratina had a hand in giving birth to Creation, in that as Lord of the Void, it was the one that cut the Void off from the Reality that was being born by the four deities. It is to this Void that Giratina was sent, and it was from this Void that the distortion world was created. We don't actually know, but antimatter was created after Giratina, and has 0 effect on space and time while Giratina is able to effect both. It's more likely that Giratina represent gravity, or something similar and was imprisoned because it couldn't control its power.

Maybe Arceus made the Distortion World specifically for Giratina. Now, this is just a theory but what if Giratina never destroyed anything on purpose? I mean he is a giant creature made of anti-matter and it would be destructive if it comes into contact with matter. The Distortion World is also made of anti-matter. Maybe Giratina never got banished just got a world for itself. Maybe Arceus created the Distortion World to contain Giratina’s power not because he got banished. More news: In Legends Arceus... Giratina was able to change form to origin in the real world, and Giratina, as a plot twist, had made the space time rift. Giratina then tries to literally k*ll you in the game, since Volo told it to. After defeating altered, it changes form to origin and has full HP again. After truly defeating it, it runs away and Volo is angry because Giratina had fled. Giratina then seeks shelter in Turnback cave, where you can catch it. And Volo had described what you described. But Giratina also had a statue, though it was shattered and left that way... I don't think Giratina is evil, and, in its movie, like Darkrai, was thought of as evil. Then they learn Giratina rules the Reverse World/Distortion World. (If you're wondering Darkrai kinda dies in it's movie, because Dialga and Palkia fought, Giratina was angry because Dialga caused Palkia to flee to Alamos Town, where Darkrai was, because that was basically its home)

From what I heard, Unbound Hoopa tricked Giratina into destroying the world, Giratina thinking that the planet was bad, or something that was living on it was bad. Arceus then came down to settle the ruckus, blown away by what Giratina had done. Giratina tried telling Arceus the truth, that he was manipulated. However, Arceus didn't believe him. So, we was banished to the distortion world. Over and over again Giratina tried telling him the truth, but Arceus didn't listen. Over time, Giratina grew a great hatred for Arceus, and sparked the origin of his rage, and the beginning of a great betrayal. But I just heard that, idk if it's true🤔😂

After giratina was thrown into the distortion world. I think that he was very powerful, more powerful then dialga and palkia. He wanted to rule the whole world thus creating pokemons with his own power which are now dark or ghost type pokemon. After a while, he needed a powerful partner to rule over the whole universe and arceus that is why he created hoopa and his evolution Hoopa Unbound. He almost put all of his power to create Hoopa. After his birth Hoopa Unbound began to disagree what giratina was telling him thus they began to fight. Their fought so hard that they managed to escape the distortion world. every pokemon giratina created also began to escape. Hoopa Unbound and giratina were causing distruction so that Arceus trapped giratina in his distortion world again and Hoopa Unbound in a Jar which is shown in the movie Hoopa And The Age Of Clashes. Arceus also had to remove Hoopa's evolution. Giratina then started to realise what he was doing and later he started to calm down, thus helping dialga and palkia.

Some people compare him to the Devil but in my opinion, he's just an angry big scary guy who wants to belong somewhere but his rage episodes don't help him, so people just pushed him away in order to prevent him from doing something terrible to others without caring about trying to reform or socialize with him. This is my theory about why we never had a 4th lake guardian for Sendoff Spring Sendoff Spring had a lake guardian that looked like Uxie, Mespirit & Azelf with the headpiece of all 3 and due to it being the most powerful of the Lake Guardian's and ruler of the 4th lake of Sinnoh, Arceus wanted it out of the way as it was too powerful and planned to destroy it but Giratina intervened and sent it through a portal to another region so that it would be safe from Arceus's wrath and Giratina took over Sendoff Spring and Turnback Cave and made sure that it remained hidden from the rest of the region and the Pokemon world (hence the reason why Sendoff Spring is known as the 4th lake of Sinnoh that was kept secret) Arceus then banished Giratina as due to its betrayal to the Distortion World not happy about this decision Giratina engaged in battle with Arceus and lost and was then forced into the Distortion World with the knowledge of being the only Pokemon who knew the true location of the Sendoff Spring Lake Guardian. Giratina spent the following years watching over Sendoff Spring and Sinnoh from the Distortion World making the occasional visit to Sendoff Spring via the portal in Turnback Cave and would rest and lay in wait for a rematch with Arceus. Tales and myths would spread around Sinnoh that Giratina was a violent and destructive Pokemon when in actual fact it was kind and misunderstood.

The true story: Giratina was known as the Perfect Child. He sweeped the homework, he mowed the roof, and he had straight A+ That was, until he went to college for Hyperquantam mechanics, and got an A freshman year. Arceus locked him in his room for 3 days straight, so giratina moved out and went to the distortion world and removed Arceuses contact. Then, he invited Me, Dialga, and Giratina to breakfast, where he had a heated debate with Arceus over if Arceus was a good father. And thus, with Giratina not in contact, I’m basically the new perfect kids since the Eldests expectations are shoved onto the Middle child when The Eldest moves out.
