As long as your parents/siblings are alive you'll somehow stay alive, what after they're gone? Financial ability will help you grow independent but might not help you remain single for long, until one knows how to live all-alone without getting depressed or with negative thoughts. It's natural to depend and help each other. - In-laws are also parents and humans. There can be a thought/perspective difference, but at the end they also want a daughter/wife for their son. - When the, parents have a child, if they want and child grows, given both are working these days, "in-laws bhi kaam aate hai", be it financially or emotionally or taking care of the baby in any way. - It's only in Asian culture we still have the concepts of taking care of old parents, be it in the form of staying with in-laws or any other form.
