Except he didn't cheat. Vera just said he did. He got too drunk. They were both at fault, giving up on communication. He started going out with the group of girls because she wasn't communicating with him. He wasn't communicating with her about his feelings of loneliness either, BUT she was flirting with Gregory as well. Remember, he tried to call her, but she was out partying with friends and her phone battery died. BEFORE he started going out the girls. She did call him back, but after he went to sleep, so after midnight. That's when he got more depressed. So instead of 50/50 it's more 55/45, with her being the 55. ETA: And she was almost going to cheat with Gregory. And she hadn't been drinking! She did stop, but she was emotionally cheating too.
