I was bullied by a girl in sixth grade and my female friend was bullied by a boy in 12th grade. He verbally abused her all year long as he sat behind her in US history class, whispering insults to her so nobody else could hear. She ignored him. But all of this leaves a lasting trauma in us. Both of us are 53 years old.

I'm worried for both kids. I am glad the little girl has support and I hope she won't be harmed again. That boy was given the example of violence somehow. Either he witnessed it or he was the target if it, otherwise he would not have done that. If that's not it, then something else has gone horribly wrong for hom to he so violent at 11. I think that family needs to be investigated.

If only this happens more often. A young girl that is bullied by a child only 4 years older is shocking. It's unfair and atrocious and I hope that the victim's parents win a restraining order against both bully and his parents. I say that the parents should be more responsible and take responsibility for thier sons actions rather than burying thier heads in the sand. It will eventually come back and bite them in the ass.... HARD!

My son went to s school for dyslexic children. Many different types of children attended. He was intolerant of bullying. The dean of the school called me one day and said your son was standing on the picnic table surveying the playground as he usually does, when he observed an older child picking on a younger child. He jumped down and fought with said older student. My son maintained at the time it wasn't a fight because a fight has to last 5 minutes. Tho he's also always said you're not late unless it's more than 5 minutes??? Lol. He said it was a lesson. They were both suspended, but the young boy thanked him profusely when he returned to school. They're still friends. He's always stood up for the weaker and teaches his son the same. I was not mad at him at all. Defend yourself and others if needed. JMO. He was only 11 or 12 at the time. He's a wonderful grown adult single father now. I do not condone fighting. I do condone defending.

No more trouble and the mother moved! Good riddance but really, why do kids bully? Home troubles? I got bullied as an adult at the tennis club by a loud mouth and her kids grew up as bullies too! But I refused to back down, not the kind so let her have it, I don't shout or look aggressive , just quietly told her to desists making me into a victim! She shut up and never heard from her again!

When my oldest son was 4yrs old we were watching Naruto and he said to me "mommy why are those people so mean to Naruto? Can you take me to narutos house so I can be his friend" trying to explain to a child the questions about a fictional character in a fictional place wasn't easy but hearing my oldest son say he would narutos friend made me cry because I knew I was doing something right by having kids who be there for those who deserve to have a true friend that accepts them for who they are not what they are. My sons are now almost 22 and 18 and my daughter is almost 17.
