The way I saw the movie from my perspective. How dictatorship works They usually look at people as dogs who shouldn’t be treated as humans with respect and dignity . And unfortunately some people are ok with that . When the human pup tried to act as his real self, he got locked up as real dog . Indicating how dictators punishes the protesters or people who try to speak out against them by humiliating them in prison . The girl was the dictator sweetheart till she had her own choice which against dictatorship then she got to be treated as a human pup and she must humiliate herself to eat human food . The child represents how humiliation is passed on to new generations due to lack of self respect and self discipline of the older generation. Her friend represents the lying media .

This movie shades a bright light on our daily lives, it really doesn't have to be us role playing as dogs inorder to have what we've always wanted. We we do it in plenty other ways, but by the end of it all we become enslaved to a point that we fail to escape our own situation and our kids become victims too and we fail to defend them as well. She had many red flags flying infront of her, but she choose to ignore them. And she allowed him to isolate her from all those that could help her by pretending that all was OK. What remained was for her live to please him by accepting anything thrown at her or else she would face the consequences and being a narcissist he probably used the baby to keep her submissive.
