The stores have already pulled images from booksellers but they have been saved and spread around. I think like Lila they want a simple concept that will be a best seller after a few rough years. Good take on the meet outfit though. I think having it modeled after Rapunzel is a good idea but more affordable than a $300 collectors doll.

I appreciate that I really do. And I respect your opinion and you’re right the joy and the happiness that it brought my daughter of the 80s. I don’t know if given the opportunities she would pick those same dolls today I am mother and grandmother and all my vision is the joy that the past produced, although I will admit, I’m adding three dolls to my collection. To Two are current. But one is Molly. That’s when my mom grew up the stories of the war and the struggles of the families because of the need for supplies and things like that and the rationing our stories that I grew up with and stories that based the way, I was raised, they are completely different than the way. My daughter was raised. We lived in a proudly wealthy community. She wanted for nothing her father saw to it. But I wanted you to know I read what you had to say and I understand it. I was a child of Mattel after all my first Barbie came when I was six I think maybe five and I never had a problem with the fact that Barbie kept, getting reinvented and getting better and facing not facing that’s the wrong word but reflected is a better word the times that we were in we went from the 50s and the 60s and the 70s. I think American Girl is open to doing best friends dolls again, for sure. We had Tenney and Logan, World by Us group, Corinne and her siblings, and the 90s twins. But wouldn’t we have already seen a copyright for the Daisy name if they were to make that doll? They might do what they did with Kavi’s friend and use an existing Truly Me doll in the photos. Also, pets and animals are HUGE with their target audience. When my daughter was that age, all she thought about was animals and she loved the AG pets.

Just as a heads up in regards to dogs and dolls, when I did my grad work One project I did is have about 15 culturally mixed children draw pictures of their family. Every child that had a pet drew that pet in the picture as part of their family and of course most of them were dogs, then cats, then birds. They are important to children and so as it follows they add them to the dolls, which are primarily created for children. Just sharing. Thank you and I appreciate you Chris.

So, I recently found a few pics that AG Fandom has, and it looks like Summer may have green eyes. There are a few pics of her and Daisy. Your description of her seems spot on except maybe her eyes. And she has a dog walking and treat baking business. Her and Daisy decide to go into business together because Daisy makes cat toys. So definitely re-using the dog bathing set will happen. Enjoying all your videos!

Exactly! It’s so sad. The ones that make the loudest noise about AG not having dolls of color are the same ones who don’t buy them. It’s frustrating - corporations are revenue driven, if these people are complaining about wanting dolls of color but they buy white dolls or not buying any dolls then they need to stop complaining so much?

I am sure that most of the dogs are going to be Truly Me dogs market with her. Also, from what I could tell, the treat stand is for cat treats. There are two cat treat recipes in her book. From these leaked illustrations she be fostering or adopting a cat in the story. I am certain that pet store will not be made important here. The cances she'll a cat in her collection ate higher here based on what I have seem of book, if that is the I will buy a cat in heart beat.Side note Corrine Tans's dog is adopted from a shelter, and she independently starts training it to be a mountain rescue dog in her books. In the movie, she does not own Flurry, but helps train her, so she will not be returned to her breeder for falling the program.

I think summer Having the pink hair very similar to Isabelle GOTY 2014 it'll be 11 years so Isabelle would be a an adult being like 21 so maybe she's summer's Aunt related in some way possibley. At first I thought Maybe Isabelle is the mom but that wouldn't make since unless it's another former way older GOTY daughter.

😅 let’s remember it’s Mattel not pleasant company that is releasing these products. I have been with the American girl since they came out because they hit right when my daughter was the proper age, so yes everything that we own was in her age bracket so it was all under pleasant company. I had my suspicions when Mattel took over at the fact that they would probably over merchandise them certainly take away dollars and bring them back so that they would have a greater value. The Disney princesses is no shock to me. There should be a more diverse world of dolls, just as in real life, there are a very diverse group of people that make up the world. Where pleasant company need these things and put them into practice . Mattel is a publicly held company with stockholders to answer to, and a dividend to be hopefully given out quarterly. This success that they enjoyed with the Barbie movie which will be hot wheels, movies, and eventually you will see American girl movies more than just the cute little snippets that they used to put up and they didn’t do any of that before they went with Mattel. Now we all know that little girls generally are not shareholders nor little boys or older, however, will do what is necessary to keep their shareholders happy. I mean I own two dolls of all of the I can’t bear to say 18 that my daughter owns and she has given to my granddaughters thank God, I have two sitting right here one of them. I sat on the bed while I was listening to something last night just because I needed somebody’s here to comb other than my own. I’m having surgery in six days and it’s major so I was tense and needed just to sit in comb some hair for a while. i’m glad my daughter was young when she was and I was only paying $75 a dollar and not the prices that were being asked today. Even the prices of their wardrobe is just a little bit more than unreasonable. However that doesn’t stop me from sending boxes to Texas at Christmas and the appropriate birthdays and holidays. But it is unfortunate that things that I thought in my head when the Mattel company took over are coming to fruition.

You’re not taking into consideration that a company will grow and evolve along with their audience. Little girls in the 80’s are not at all like little girls in 2024, you can’t reasonably expect a company to stay stale. So don’t blame Mattel, they’ve owned AG for the past 24 years and you’re acting like they just bought them. My favorite AG dolls and outfits are from when they were owned by Mattel, I think they’ve done a pretty great job for the most part.

You didn’t mention Kavi! AG did release 2 DOC GOTYs in a row. So it’s not surprising that we’ll probably get like 5-6 years of Caucasian GOTYs. Hopefully they’ll have some unique elements to add interest. I would be very interested to know the sales numbers of Corinne and Kavi and how they compared to Lila’s release, I think we could use that info to predict how often DOC releases will happen in the future. If collectors and fans want to see DOC GOTYs then they have to buy them when they’re released. It’s pointless to make noise on social media but not actually buy them - AG is revenue-driven, they’ll listen if the numbers are good. Also AG hasn’t trademarked Daisy’s name, so I’m doubtful they’ll make a companion doll. I hope I’m wrong though.
