@@ilselauwers6009 I always think that you learn more from the mistakes you make far more that being told by others what to do. Watching this video I was more concerned for Alex over stretching on those small steps while filling the ceiling, a little later on she had taller steps. As a professional decorator I always paint a room ceiling first, then walls then woodwork, Alex did the walls first, doing it her way still achieved the same results.

Lovely job ladies. The colors and bedside lights give the room such a cozy glow. Black out curtains are perfect as they not only help insulate ,but provide no sunlight for those late sleepers.

I love the top skirting boards! They shall be so named, hence forth. And I have a chatty cat, as well. It makes talking to them all that more satisfying, when they answer back. I love the color and the final result. Green and orange is such an underutilized color scheme. The colors give the room such warmth. Once the floor cornices are installed and the floor and door refinished, this will look like a room in a fancy spa retreat.

The room is stunning. I hope your guests enjoy and appreciate all you have done. In the 1800's people hung their curtains so they "puddled" onto the floor. It was a show of wealth that spilled over. It is still found in many Southern mansions in the U.S. Just a bit of useless information. 😊 Have a great visit.

Great stuff but why not unscrew the switches? Much easier to paint when they are not attach to the wall and less cleaning to do afterwards 😊

The view is a key feature. Less curtain more window. Deep set window is fabulous. I personally wouldn’t hide that. All in all great colors and style !

If you position the curtain hooks at the bottom edge of the top stiffened strip, then you will be able to cover the curtain rod mechanism with the top of the curtain.

my house was built by a father for his daughter in 1911, and I have the same slanted ceilings and gables, but with wood frame, no stone, except for a fireplace. but each and every wall that is short like that has a walk (stooped over) closet, I had friends with a baby who moved in for a few months and they made a darling bedroom for their little girl , the closet runs half of the length of the room which is huge. it also has window seats, the front is over a porch, so it extends about 6 feet out from the main building, but the city calls it a 1 1/2 story building, although the bedrooms are huge. we have three bedrooms up and several down. Ihave the crown molding also, plus down stairs I have another window seat storage area, and a leaded glass pass through cupboard from the kitchen. the ceilings are 9 feet high. it is a wonderful old house with heating problems and all, but I love it. I bought it and ran my in home day care in it. so much room with a nice side garden of twocity lots.

Lovely job ladies. A little tip on the curtains that you are supposed to do, is to pull the cords on the heading tapes at the back and it gathers the curtains up to fit your windows and gets rid of all the gapeing between each ring/hooks. Hope you don't mind the tip. I had the tip myself many years ago from someone who made curtains for a living.

There's a really decent filler that comes ready mixed in a white tub and is white in colour. Don't recall it's name, but it saves the time of mixing and keeps well, unlike the stuff in tubes. I believe this is probably the only video channel where a viewer can watch someone caulking accompanied by a madrigal(?). The room looks warm. Good job.

Your guests are going to be pampered and posh. I am so inspired by you two. You don't let anything get in your way. You just go on and get it done. I used to be like that, I think I may try to cultivate that part of myself. Also, the monk chanting was so neat! I am a Tudor History fan, and I immediately thought of the dissolution of so many beautiful monasteries. Although it's not hard to get me in a Tudor mindset!! Watching you use the table saw holing the wood with your foot made me think of the shop teacher we had in College. He was great! He’d always have stories about things going wrong in the classes he taught or in the various workshops he’d worked in. They were always hilarious cautionary tales. The final exam we had in his class we knew that there would be a bonus question on it. I joked that it would be something like “Name three ways you can die while using a pencil in the shop”. It wasn’t, of course, but we were disappointed.

Wow. I have your exact sander. I take my small shop vac hose and hook it to my sander and turn it on while I’m sanding. All the dust goes into the shop vac. No dust and no clean up. Much easier. You did a fantastic job it looked beautiful!❤
