What made it an "OMG" moment, was that Goldberg, the dude who took the kick, was booked as an absolute killing machine who would tear anyone apart in seconds/minutes, and then out of nowhere he just takes a superkick from Ziggler, who didn't win most of his matches at that point, which is why the crowd goes nuts too

the wrestlers actually decide together. Some wrestlers discuss the match with their opponent backstage before the show. Some of the more veteran guys call the entire match in the ring. Sometimes for big matches aka pay-per-view matches an agent aka executive producer for matches gives bullet points, but for the most part the wrestlers decide what will happen in the ring themselves.

I have a really good friend who wrestled for ECW. According to him, "The painful part isn't about landing on the tacks. I mean, that hurts like hell, but the really painful part is pulling them out. Landing on them, they all hurt at once. Pulling them out, you get to relive it one tack at a time." I'm glad you like watching these clips. Might I suggest you react to The Undertaker vs. Mankind in the infamous Hell In A Cell match. That match was so brutal, but easily one of the most memorable matches in WWE history!

Tacks are considered a medium hazard, their usage has dwindled down since WWE turned PG in 2010, most of what you're seeing regarding tacks, barbwire and blood, is from the 90s and beginning of 2000s when WWE was r rated. regarding the chairs to the head, they were banned from WWE about 7 years ago or so because of their high tendency to cause a concussion. Overall, Most of what you have seen regarding wrestling moves and hardcore spots is considered safe or done with as much minimum damage as possible, except of course, Fire and glass. These are the two most dangerous elements during a hardcore match, because you can't control or limit the damage that they make.

I was there for that first top rope superplex that broke the ring. It was insane. But they didn't play it twice. They showed a few different times that it happened. 1st was Brock Lesnar and Big Show. 2nd was Mark Henry and Big Show. 3rd was Big Show and Braun Strowman 4th was 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman.

The one Guitar didnt break bc the messed up and gave them a real one most weapon shots are worked or "fake" most steel chairs they "block" it with their hand so any non hand movement shot are 100% legit and lots of stuff like tables and garbage cans are made of easier to break material like aluminum for the cans and thier lids however some weapons are impossible to fake like tacks however if theyre wearing a shirt its probably one meant to absorb most of it Shorter story some are 100% real other 50 some "fake" but they train for it and know how to take these bumps and they all still hurt just look ant Mick Foley dude can barely walk these days

Sorry to burst your bubble, the ring collapse was planned every time. Big show revealed it in an interview, they rigged it to collapse on command, difficult cause it made the top rope very unstable. As far as the tacks, that helped make Randy Orton into the big star he is today. He said it felt like the sting you feel after a high dive into the pool. Sad story at 24:48 the guitar was supposed to be rigged so it would break easier, instead that was a legit shot to the head, Jake Roberts suffered injuries from that that he now believes contributed to many years of alcohol and drug abuse. Lastly, headshots are banned now, the company will fine them for it.

The durag Vince had on was due to a match against Donald Trump known as The Battle Of The Billionaires. Both men would bet on a wrestler and the loser had to have their head shaven bald in the middle of the ring by the winner and their wrestler. Vince chose Umaga and Trump chose Bobby Lashley. In the end Lashley won the match and he and Trump shaved Vince bald so he covered it up with the durag.

Actually, the ring absolutely was supposed to break. The production team rigs the ring to fall apart when they pull stunts like that. If the ring really broke that easily, two guys of that size wouldn't be able to wrestle in it at all, it would break with every bump. If I remember correctly, those happened at the end of the show, for obvious reasons, but it's been a while so I might be wrong.

but its the fact that it was a match between Mark Henry and the Big show I think that you can't not intend to have the ring break with those two massive powerhouses and I just see it as the natural course for the end to a match and man is it amazing to watch.

The first one with Brock and Show was the main event. The Second time believe it or not, John Cena and Del Rio wrestled in the ring after Henry and Show pulled that stunt. But other than that yes every other time was a main event match.

Halfway through this during the clips of the ring collapses, the first was lesnar and big show. I was there. Was awesome. Was last match of night but they rigged to collapse. During break before match, I saw guys working on the ring. Like they were loosening the bolts so when all that weight (700+ lbs combined of both wrestlers) came down, it would crumble

Professional Wrestling is the modern day equivalent of a long running Shakespeare play with elevated action. It's a scripted performance and storyline(s) but 90% of the actions have real physical consequences. A buddy of mine owns a wrestling ring and taught me the ropes for a few weeks, I've never hurt more 😂

"They could be in the circus" Pro wrestling started with carney folk, they came from the circus. Also WWE is the only entertainment show people watch and call fake. You dont watch any other show with action in it and decide not to suspend disbelief. Yes, it is a scripted television show. Allow yourself to suspend disbelief like you would if it were a Marvel movie and just enjoy it.

The first ring collapse was actually real but the second, third and fourth one were rigged. All but one of the matches involved the Big Show as the wrestler being superplexed, the first by Brock Lesnar, the second one by Mark Henry and the third one by Braun Strowman. The other one involved The Fiend Bray Wyatt superplexing Braun Strowman

"Rehearsed" is a better word for professional wrestling. "Fake" implies there's no sort of risk involved for the wrestlers. The matches/segments have to be practiced and rehearsed in order to minimize the risk of injury.

2:43 the people that say wrestling is fake don’t truly watch wrestling. They call it fake because it’s scripted. The winners and segments are all pre determined. But what happens as a result of moves isn’t. Everything hurts. People think that because the wrestlers know who will win ahead of time, that makes it automatically fake. Which is not true. Doctors have said that landing on that mat is like putting your body through a small car crash. Many wrestlers have died in the ring which I’m sure isn’t a surprise to anyone. One sad one was a Japanese wrestler who took a back suplex and injured his spine and died before they got to the hospital. A famous Japanese wrestler named Hayabusa slipped on the ropes and landed on his neck and it ended his career back in 2001. He died a few years ago due to a brain hemorrhage(god bless him.) but yea that’s the reality of pro wrestling.

Its not fake, its scripted. For the most part, these guys are working together to pull off some to most of these moves. And yes it take athletic ability, and a certain mindset to put your body on the line for the entertainment of others to be in the business. Alot of these guys toil in these mom and pop shows, and never make it to TV, and even those that do make it to TV have so much pressure on them to preform every night, it drives alot of them to performance enhancing drugs, and drug, alcohol and mental problems. The ring collapsing is pretty common spot now. If you look close the ring starts to shift while they're up on the ropes. The ring is slightly raised up by airbags for this to happen.
