I have been a wrestling fan for nearly 40 years as well as an mma fan. It’s predetermined but you can not fake physics. You can lessen the impact, break your fall, pull punches and gimmick equipment to break easily but your still get hurt.
@jefferyrowland55793 жыл бұрын
To get my point, at 11:12-11-13, the guy getting dropped (Bob Holly) legitimately suffered broken vertebrae at that moment.

on point! my favourite answer to people saying "wrestling is fake" is "the stories are - but you can't fake gravity. And also those chair shots to the head. Most of movements aren't straight and stiff to the head - but the chair is no gimmick and the sound is real

Thank you for being understanding, I am currently training to wrestle and will say this. It is scripted,yes, the goal is to avoid hurting an opponent legit, but everything does hurt. You can avoid breaking your neck, for example, but you can not "fake" falling on your neck. Like simply walking, is not particularly dangerous but if done enough, you will wear out, and one misstep can lead to injury.

3:05 a lot of those stuff hurt, they just get used to it. For us normies, even the ropes would hurt. Even the ring floor hurts. And some of the moves are very risky especially if there's a miscommunication between the wrestlers or somebody botched their move. Hulk Hogan's relatively simple leg drop looks safe but he had several unsuccessful surgeries to get his back fixed. It compressed his spine. Droz became quadriplegic after a move didn't go as planned. Then there's La Parka who sustained injuries ringside and died later.

@@Chicaeditz It's not made of steel and there are no rivets but it still hurts if done incorrectly. Although not concussion-level kind of hurt. Wrestlers still do prep getting bashed by chairs and taking the bump.

Just fyi, in the parts where it is quiet, it is because that is when COVID began and they didn’t allow fans in the events so the wrestlers just wrestled without crowd hence why it is quiet, later on during COVID they added the screens and audio effects of the crowd but at the beginning of COVID they were finding what to do and waiting as they built a stadium for them where they wrestled during the pandemic🔥

11:09 so there's a wrestler term, "sandbagging". sandbagging is when a wrestler deliberately doesn't provide assistance on certain moves that require both wrestlers' input, in a deliberate bid to make the other guy look weak. in this clip, Bob Holly tried to sandbag Brock Lesnar because Lesnar was a new guy and Holly liked to bully new guys. the problem is Lesnar is legitimately freakishly strong and picked Holly up anyway, but because Bob was out of position for the powerbomb he ended up getting dropped straight on his head, which legitimately injured him. moral of the story is don't bully your coworkers, especially if your coworker is a fucking ogre

actually raw and smackdown are parts of WWE. as are NXT if I understand correctly/ Regarding to glass it is a sugar glass which looks like real when it breaks but is safe. Guitars are real but hollowed to break easier and in a more explosive way. Trash cans are made from aluminum and tin, and are as hard as soda can. And in those moments where Shane McMahon jumps across the ring to kick opponent in the other corner of the ring that thrash actually makes move much safer since it absorbs a lot of impact. Besides that everything is more or less real. And regarding to Brock Lesnar, well that dumbass is a king of the botches... That is why lot of his moments look kind of off.
