First, I am a so-called Christian through and through. Second, I believe he bible as we know it is the Word Of God. Now, third, YOU ARE VERY RIGHT concerning wives and concubines. Our western, Romanized society is paying a hard price for not following the word of God on these matters. A concubine was of less honor than a wife, BUT she was in an honorable position. A man "entered" a woman knowing the there was an attached responsibility. A woman connected with a man to be under his covering, whether as a wife or as a concubine. It was good for the women and it was good for the men. Now we have a bunch of irresponsible men, abused and abandoned women, disconnected children (especially boys) unraised by and unidentified with fathers, and women assuming headship roles inside and outside of the family that they were never intended to assume, to name just a few problems. The majority of the "acknowledged" church continues to mislead sincere but ignorant believers down a road of worldly acceptable practice and belief, to their own misfortune and destruction. A sad situation.

I love the term "anglo-sphere" as it really does sum up the present culture. Serious Question: what are the man's responsibilities to a concubine, biblical and modern please. I ask because, say it is agreed that she is not wife material but the relationship is still strong. There are women out there that simply can not cope with the responsibility of being a wife. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question, can you have a concubine without having a wife? That's because in the OT correct me if I'm wrong if you did have sex out of wedlock you were commanded to marry her. A women stayed virgin till she did find a man to do it with.
