I loved watching your video! And now I want to do this route, but not till next Spring! Like you, I enjoy a bikepacking adventure so much more when I'm not under pressure. I did (dnf, because of the cold+ wet) the Panceltic race this year , enjoyed some of it ,but seemed on a mission the whole way. I must admit ,I like to relax more ,and I hate very early mornings ! Looks like a good trip and seeing the terrain explains why you're on an XC instead of the gravel bike. Haven't had a chance to do any bikepacking myself this year with work, weather etc but just did the Five Ferries which was great fun, well worth a look next time you're up in Scotland if you fancy visiting some islands.

NZ Tour Aotearoa ? Thanks for sharing, I'm looking for mid-sized rear panniers for the GDMBR and Tour Aotearoa and also hoping to do some bike-packing in Wales as final training and shake-down .... once I have my cycle fitness back after 10 months off the bike due to post concussion syndrome. It is amazing how quickly cycle fitness is lost but also regained and even more so if recovering from an injury. My first ride of just 3 miles round the block left me utterly utterly exhausted and near collapse, yet 3 weeks later I've increased the distance to 15 miles and hoping for the day I'm again cycling 60 miles every day fully loaded and feeling tried but not exhausted. No pain no gain, use it or loose it is my experience, and cherish fitness and the ability to get fit in each and every decade for as each decade passes adventure requires more effort.
