I forgot to mention this in the video, but I know there is an EX Difficulty incoming. I'm excited for it, but there's a good chance they'll just bloat stats or bloat the map with enemies, which is counterintuitive to what I want.

@HeroMysticLYXКүн бұрын
@@XxMvpKostxX Hard to gauge love like that. Literally all dolls in GFL1 (even DEFY) have great respect and loyalty for him, which is it's own form of love. But in terms of "traditional" romantic love, the story puts the most emphasis on M4A1's love for him. However, PNC makes it extremely obvious that 416/Klukai is obsessed with him. G28/Belka also has the same obsessive streak. Maki/WA2K is heavily smitten to the point where she's happy being called "the commander's favorite." Mk23 is a literal yandere for him. Lewis is heavily attracted to him and tries to get him to touch her sensually. Maxing out Groza's affinity in GFL2 gives you a cutscene where you spend the night alone with her. That's what I got off the top of my head.

While I do get it, a lot of the usual experience of GFL1 players was just opening a guide and following it, or looking up meta and copying it. Choice is good but gfl1 was straight up cluttered. But I agree with the opinion that GFL2 should get more depth, everything feels pretty barebones, even with the platoon dps check which is just more money spent = more points.

GFL1 using resources for everything isn't actually that bad, especially considering it allows you to farm indefinitely provided you have enough resources, something most gacha games hard limit via stamina systems. Not to mention you use it for pulls also as opposed to a premium currency. In terms of meta systems, GFL1 was definitely unique in a good way. However at some point I realized the gameplay really wasn't for me. Yeah there's an element of strategy regarding the map movements, but the combat itself just felt awful. The optimal way to play was just super autistic. Like, a basic technique was having one of your tank dolls run into the furthest forward grids, and then just skitter back and forth to bait the enemy attack animations (but not letting them fire) while your dolls got free shots off. And later in the fight just repeat this same thing by retreating your frontline and making the enemies walk forward again while you got more free shots. Everything about the combat felt "mobile game gimmick" in the worst way. As for the endgame, it didn't even really feel like strategy half the time - or at least the one endgame event I played - because it was at night. How are you supposed to play a competitive map where you're trying to eliminate a bunch of units, in a mode that costs resources to play, when you have to guess where the enemies are? If you aren't willing to waste a bunch of time and resources mapping out the enemy locations and movements, the only real option is to look up a guide, and then all the strategy just gets sucked out and you're left with the mobile game gimmick gameplay. The gameplay of GFL2 is better at a foundational level, but yes, it has a lot of untapped potential. And also they didn't add the clothes break mechanic, sadge

I also agree that GFL2 is kind of boring as of now. Lack of maps and variety of gameplay kind of held it back down. I admit that i am still in my honeymoon phase with it. And it’s been only 10 days and i have reached ch 8 of the story. So far the "Peak Value Assessment" is really challenging and i like how resources don’t have timegate and limit on how much you do them (aside from the gold farm). And the pull is pretty generous too for me, i’ve had Qiongjiu since the start of the game and all of the 4 stars unit on the game later as the game goes, especially with Papasha and Vepley being free, those are the absolute units that carry me through the endgame (Littara too and she’s a 4 stars). I am 8 pulls away from the selector and after that i might do some endgames and that’s it for me I’ve bought the battlepass this season as a way to appreciate the devs work, other than that… yes, this game is too niche for everyone to like, not to mention the gameplay and maps are lacking of variety

Just from having played the first couple chapters of Reverse Collapse: Codename Bakery, there's a lot of overlap with GFL2 and lots of potential ideas that could transfer successfully if they wanted to try new things. That game has some really exceptional mission design too. They throw lots of reinforcement squads your way, but the characters and deployable units are potentially powerful enough to wipe the floor with those Rossartrist pigs. One thing I think GFL2 already does quite well is bosses. I don't think they're nearly difficult enough usually, but all they really need to be is fun. If they're worried about making the game too hard, fun ideas that give us more interesting things to do in fights will be critical I think. Ngl, I've enjoyed myself far more with the first few months of GFL2 than I did for the first few months of 1. I really couldn't enjoy that game despite my best efforts. Hopefully this game won't just stagnate into the same sorts of fights across years of content, but with more health or armor mechanics on the enemies.

There aren't extremely specific mechanic that locks you into using specific dolls to clear as well, which is great since you can tackle them with various strat you can think of instead of just looking up for guides online.

I'm definitely on board with more nuances in GFL 2, whether in maps, enemies or doll customization. I'm still enjoying the gameplay so far. Most of the content isn't hard and sometimes casual and laidback daily gameplay is exactly what I need. But if that's all GFL 2 has to offer then I don't think I can stick with it for long term. I need some challenging or unique content that gives me a sense of satisfaction and lasting impression, not DPS check. It's why I love XCOM, those moments that makes you feel like you're actually being strategic and competent. As for specific suggestion, I really like the puzzle-heavy B.R.I.E.F evaluation thingy or the recent Inverse Cypher content where you win by playing correct move and not grinding for stats. Those contents are nice contrast to the usual gameplay. An endless or wave survival mode would also be fun, it leaves more room for optimization and strategizing in order to make it as far as possible. And my final suggestion is a "time attack" mode where the faster you can clear the level the more reward you get. I find it immensely satisfying in other strategy game when I flawlessly wipe out the enemies squad before their turn so I play GFL2 in the same way.

Challenge =/= Complexity. That isn't my argument. Even with this in mind, Suomi isn't on my CN account and the game is still lacks depth. All you're suggesting is to nerf your stats to make an arbitrary challenge. If you really want to make an arbitrary challenge you can at least suggest LTC runs. It's just fallacious to say people should nerf their accounts in order to pretend something exists. The game wants you to pull and have fun with those units. Having content where you can test your roster is one of those ways.

@@HeroMysticLYX u werent replying to me, but is LTC supposed to be "low turn count"? Theres nothing wrong with arbitrary challenges. To say its fallacious makes it sound undesirable. As someone who played a lot of PKMN Conquest, I'm in love with terrain and stage hazards making fights unique and not every run might end up being the same than last one. They need to experiment with that a bit more. I don't know, maybe a hi-grass tile where your doll can hide in it and gets concealment, meaning no enemy can target her. Not really excited by the "meta" which seems to be the boss battles where (as I see from content creators) you barely do any movement and just follow a rotation hoping to get the best DPS possible. Peak Value Assesment on the other hand is chef kiss to me

I definitely feel like there are aspects of GFL1 that are missing but my focus is more on the character design, vibe and personal interactions with us. For example GFL2 unfortunately relies heavily on the Genshin-style model system where you have 3 base models: Colphne size, Nagant size, and Groza size. Because of this many dolls can have a really similar appearance when you really take a look at them. They also chose to completely leave out any sort of shorter cute model. This was absolutely disastrous since it means if it isn't added then more characters will get redesigned HARD like Nagant Revolver and MP5 was. It also means we may not get any uniquely shaped dolls like Ameli who should be way shorter than Colphne like the cuter dolls and yet very "developed". And it also means fan favorite yearly events are probably just going to get scrapped like getting younger skins of dolls. As for personal interactions all the dolls feel very aloof and distant. Many dolls and Mayling we start off with we didn't really see how we met them, they are just there. Just a little dialogue saying "Oh we just got here." Mayling's story would have been especially nice to see since its actually a good anime-like story but we get nothing. Just feels like they originally wanted a brand new main character due to the timeskip and starting us off after so many adventures and obtaining the big vehicle. I honestly would have preferred to just play as Raymond lol. The story direction can't be changed but with character models my only hope is if the fans of the original send enough feedback and go full sensei in their demands lol.

my only real gripe with gfl1 was that it was supposed to be a game where you commanded tdolls into battle, but most of the time it just felt like dragging one doll with dummy links around 3 tiles to throw off enemy aggro. add to that the fact that "evasion" is a thing despite having a shield mechanic, which makes it feel like the game should've had some semblance of a cover system, but I generally feel like they wanted to lean heavily on team comps as the "strategic" aspect of the game gfl2 already solves a lot of the issues i mentioned earlier, with the heavy downside of it feeling less like a milsim, and more of a tactical jrpg. granted, this isn't a bad thing (and in fact, distills the core essence of "strategy" in a lot of cases), it ends up sacrificing the aspects that gave the previous game more depth (as you mentioned, resupplying, performing repairs, etc.) your points are well founded, and I generally agree with most of them. it's not quite a strategy game, but it definitely solves a plethora of headaches its predecessor accumulated over its lifetime. I just hope they design future stages with a heavier focus on strategy instead of reliance on whatever the current strongest banner character is, as most gacha games are prone to.

genuine question, is there really any reason to build mono element teams? outside of bosses, and units that can just force a weakness on enemies, maps generally have a variety of enemies with different weaknesses right? So why ignore those different weaknesses and go all in on 1 element? Are the members of those mono element teams buffing/synergizing with each other based on element buffs/debuffs that it makes exploiting phase weakness kind of useless? Or is it just coincidence that the best members for those teams happen to all be the same element, and the synergies come from other parts of their kit? day1 lvl 60 player and i only have to clear horde 7 and crossroad bosses, but i have to find a need for anything outside the starter team, much less mono teams. So i never bothered to read everyone elses kit and am curious if theres a short answer

Well, even back at GFL1 we had snippets of what singular T-Dolls could pull off if they're decked out. The scenes of M4 ripping through KCCO elites terminator style in Polarized Light or AK-15 being the bane of a Nyto squad by herself(something the girls in GFL2 could never fathom to pull off even as a squad right now and cementing her title as "GFL's Satoru Gojo") shows what singular Elite T-Dolls can pull of with no-strings attached and also shows what a squad of 5 of them could do under the Dummy-Link System. In fact, I would say GFL1 nerfed a LOT of T-Dolls gameplay wise because if they were implemented as lore dictates, we would have breezed through the stages. Also, because of the Neural Mod system and the existence of Squad 404, it is stated that normal C-Dolls/T-Dolls can not only improve, but become skilled enough to be considered "Elites" on their own, which explains how some T-Dolls we have in GFL2 that were not "Operator Material" are able to dish out some disgusting damage both lore and gameplay wise ( We exclude the AR-Team and Squad DEFY because they're build different and I can only wonder how broken they will be in GFL2). Plus, 10 years of learning, upgrading and training will make even the most inept T-Doll( Litarra as an example) a powerhouse on their own. And if I remember, Dummy Linking needed the whole IOP system to work, something the Commander in GFL2 doesn't have access to, and also would've been lorewise expensive to maintain Also MICA should return the damaged clothes. Its a sin to not have these in this game

Suomi was added after the CN community complained that the game was too hard. They nerfed both the difficulty and added a character that makes the game a total joke. GFL2 got into the trouble that it did with the CN community not because of the NTR stuff but because the community that waited patiently for the game had enough of sub par performance. The game was super hard and very stingy on launch but people like GFL so they went in, when it was clear that the game wasn't very good and the absolutely terrible first events, the community just started venting all their frustrations. I would like more intricate puzzles like you mentioned and larger maps, since XCOM had those, but with the disadvantage of having all the enemies on it already so if you got into their rage they would instantly start targeting you. Especially since every character had a high chance of just eating it during a mission and then you would have to recruit more cadet ranked people in 2.

not really its a dinosaur outside its gameplay and interactions and even there it kinda loses to certain other games. A relative small time nobody that is Snowbreak stole its playerbase and outshone it practically every way but the big one that even other games are doing is in how generous they are with freemium and pulls even for F2P. I mean i played other gacha before like the story and music king that is arknight ,GFL,etc; But snowbreak straight spoils its players as it wants you to actually enjoy the gameplay first and then give them money second. Just their 1.5 anni is a great example with a free orange tier, orange tier selector for any character, double orange tier operator and weapon selector banners, massive amounts of freemium currency and free pulls so people can easily also get a character and their weapon once from the event just from those earnings and not counting what saving they had. GFL2 also has so many straight bad practices that are being left behind by other gacha games like again Snowbreak especially in the removal of dupes being the only way to grant key upgrades for most characters which is something that you can casually grind away on a daily basis once you have a character in other recent gacha games.

Yeah, I played Snowbreak for awhile and I agree overall. I actually hate GFL2's gacha system. So many gachas nowadays recognize that the 50/50 banner system actually isn't very good, and only Hoyo gets away with it. Snowbreak recognized this problem and changed their banner system, and the fact that Mica is doing triple limited banners per month now shows they recognized how bad of a pitfall they put themselves in. I do hope Mica just does away with it entirely, but we'll have to see if Global still carries GFL2 after January ends.

Honestly there's no easy way to "fix" GFL2 nor does it actually need "fixing" GFL1 players, as in ACTUAL PLAYERS OF THE GAME ASPECT, will never enjoy GFL2's XCOM style more boots-on-the-ground style combat. It's the same as asking if an RTS player will enjoy Risk. Yes, they're both "strategy" games but they cannot be anymore different as GAMES. What they CAN do is try and emulate a similar style of game mode as GFL1's more strategy driven, pulled back view of the battlefield but that utterly wastes the assets and no doubt extremely marketable 3D models and animations. And if they continue expanding GFL2's XCOM style strategy combat, GFL1 players may not like it either. There is no clear solution when the two games are fundamentally different genres despite waving the Strategy flag. I think the closest way GFL2 can emulate GFL1 is make a new mode which is basically Fire Emblem style + resource management. That will be a unique mix of GFL1 and GFL2 which will probably generate its own set of fans while hopefully attracting both fans of GFL1 and GFL2 style gameplay.

We got extra content by the endgame when the final chapters of the story had been released. I'm hoping that GFL2 adds more variety and challenge to the game chapters and stories because they're too easy. I guess its the thing about transitioning from strategic gameplay to a more tactical one.

A bleak world where humans use machines to fight a rogue AI and those machines are representations of guns is nothing new, but I am not alone in saying that was what got a lot of people into the game in the first place. It was a much more interesting Kantai collection where the mechanics were actually well represented and understandable and where you had control in what happened instead of putting everything up to luck. GFL1 had a lot of potential but YZ chose to make it a puzzle game with a budget Metal Gear story strapped on top. Just look at how the Fairy and artillery squads system are implemented, you get a new small batch of units for those a year and if it weren't for the armor removing capabilities the artillery squads would just be glorified fairies. It's no wonder that "king chong"'s buddies left to make Arknights, imagine a world where AK was a Mica team game. It was just a slew of bad decisions ever since the game took the plunge to become this weird military drama (remember when they announced SF units and that became a gacha mechanic that upset fans and the gacha mechanic was EVEN WORSE than modern day mechanics with horrible rates? I do). GFL2 has massive potential but MICA team only know how to do two things puzzles or basic systems. They took what was arguably one of the best tactics game's systems, the X-Com reboot series, and decided to take everything that made those games fun and churn out a tedious experience. It could be a game with visceral and satisfying combat where playing like a monkey gets you punished, you move around large maps with a large 8 or 12 man squad, have multiple encounters, combat is lethal, location damage since you're playing with machines but nah, here's a armor rating you're hard as long as you have some of that, the enemy has it too. Oh and forget using tools like grenades and med kits and whatever, this game is Star Rail but with movement and cover. When it's a fight map you're likely to auto, the AI sucks ass so chill clearing is only guaranteed if you pulled for Suomi, a character that completely trivializes pve encounters by making your team unkillable, way to go there YZ. So you clear yourself the maps that the Auto Ai missed and the encounters really aren't much, just the AI running into clusters that aren't hostile for no reason. So surely the puzzle maps are fun? nope. Evacuate the entire team, one of your team is a sniper with the body of an amazon war goddess but movement speed of a beaten grandma? too bad can't use those in maps like these. Oh and the community is absolute ass, all I hear is "pull cuckay until max or you're bricced" yeah it's so fun to know your performance is entirely tied to having the 3 top characters, don't you dare pull for legacy characters that you like like Type 95 or Type 97. Oh and who are these characters even? I know GFL1 didn't have much character depth beyond the main cast but man these characters have nothing to do with the old "anthropomorphized gun girl" concept of the series. I feel like this is the biggest issue with the game and the massive plunge in revenue is reflective of this. People aren't paying to get the legacy characters unless they are op and that's an issue because you only have 4 or 5 slots and only a handful are really that powerful.

@@JNV888 Both. It's a very important part of my life for reasons I won't get into and at the same time it's commandeered by a guy that had the coldest takes and attitude I've ever seen coming from a dev in the early years of his success who burnt bridges with people far more talented than him, runs after the ass of a man infinitely more talented than he is and still had the gall of creating a cult of personality around him, his franchise and his company creating one of the most insane and toxic communities I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of. You don't need to look any further than the ntr drama, which in reality was the alignment of a lot of frustration and many small things that angered the community, and how the community completely imploded on itself. I won't regale you with the tales of when the community bullied Imoko, yes, THE imoko because the meta monkeys lost a vote or when they bullied youtube ccs out of their really damn good FAN PROJECT because they had autistic expectations for the ENGLISH VOICES of certain characters. I loved GFL, it was a simple concept that had a lot of potential to just be a fun ride with many interesting characters, nods to real life trivia about guns, goofy looking maid killer robots and simple gameplay that could, with better leadership and vision, have had a tighter development into being a game that rivaled it's at the time main competitor Azur Lane. Instead GFL morphed into an identity crisis that took the cliche'd setting and tropes that made it popular in the first place, turned them into a terrible metal gear fanfic that entirely missed the message in that series of games, added pointless new mechanics to the game (no one likes luffberry), added overlapping mechanics (why not just stick to improving the fairy system instead of making the HoC units?), took features that players asked for and spat on their potential (the sf capture mechanic was absolutely disrespectful when released), shat out a prequel game that suffers from many of the same issues and that fell into obscurity faster than the original game and then shat out a sequel game that took way too long to release because the devs didn't know how which mechanics to use and basically spoils how the story of GFL1 ends, with you failing and the AR team gone (happy end or not we don't know but they aren't coming back for 2, it wouldn't make any sense) only for you to have to play not only gfl1 but also pnc to know what's up and keep up with the remastered characters and their new lore. But worse of all you won't ever get stuff like MODs as these clash with getting dupes for characters and the game became a glorified HSR clone with poorly thought out mechanics. To me GFL is absolute frustration and I actually do enjoy watching it trip and wade in the mud, and I got to say, watching GFL2 go from a whopping 28mil to 7 mil after a month, getting overtaken by Infinity Nikki, a game that had maybe half the hype is gold. I hope that, if we ever see a 3rd game or any future games, lil mister Yuzhong let's his teams work while he's busy in the lounge playing video games.

@@ayuvir Well, you are one passionate person. I can respect the number of emotions you poured into this response. If you hate what is happening with the game and in its development, and your only gratification with it is how it is failing, why don’t you drop it? You said it is a very important part of your life. Maybe it helped you overcome depression or find family or friends? Well, that hardly matters since the only thing it appears to be giving you today is not the same as in the past, and if that is the case, then why carry it with spite like a cross instead of letting it go before you keep hating it more? Nowadays, we see loved game franchises being treated really bad by those in charge to the point they are just a shadow of what they were 10 - 15 years ago. But unfortunetly, there is little we can do about it. In most (if not all) cases our options are either keep playing or not. Well, that is what I think at least. Personally I like that you can play GFL2 in any sort of way you can, and many different strategies are viable ish. I don't think making one trick pony types of enemies like the armored ones in the first game where you had to specifically have a certain kind of doll(looking at you rasberry rifle sister) to effectively counter them is good design in and of itself. GFL2 has a lot of potential indeed. But I'd like it to walk a fine line between the new system they created and some good ideas that were implemented in GFL1, and ideally not sway much in either direction. Also I don't agree that more complicated = more fun or better. I'm sure a lot of other people would agree that GFL1 was way too cluttered.

The GF2 recent survey asked about interest in a roguelike mode. That could be fun if done well. The tactics of GF2 definitely comes more from team composition and combos compared to map cover.

What I will tell people who want to try out GFL1 is DON'T. Really, I play GFL1 because the lore is gold. PURE fking gold. If it's just 90% of the reason why I play GFL1 in the first place, then that's worth it. You can easily find lore videos on YT and binge watch those. GFL2 has every touch that a modern gacha should be. Rather, ironically, the lore itself is the weakness of GFL2. The combat itself is more fleshed out than GFL1. Yet, the lore and the captivity of said lore is very much absent. This Daiyan event wasn't voiced, but arguable, it contained more lore in the event than the actual main chapters that's filled with largely fillers and exposition that really doesn't progress plot in a meaningful and efficient way. That's honestly my biggest complaint about GFL2. The lore is very weak compared to GFL 1 or even Neural Cloud for that matter.
@snaek_2Күн бұрын
I can tell that GFL2 is a whole lot more casual than GFL1, and that's great for me since I have less time now than when I played GFL1. However I believe that there should be a bit more complexity/strategy to the game play, since I never felt challenged. The challenge to me was "how do I complete this stage in the fewest amount of turns" which was self induced. I mainly play GFL2 for the characters and the story. Unfortunately so far the story feels notably more watered down than GFL1's story.

Interesting points Hero! As an xcom vet, rccb, and gfl1 player, I definitely see the lack of extra complexion and mechanics that could give the combat system the juice it needs to feel right. I love the team building features, keys, and etc for team compositions as it gives lots of freedom with team building (even if the grind is pain) but my main gripe with the system is MAP DESIGN. Im not talking about environment or tile placements but more of the layout of the missions. Compared to the other games mentioned, they are just really simple and boring with them being just so straightforward but also plain. It's either kill all enemies or defend a point etc etc, there really isnt much depth in them except enemies to think about but usually are killed quite simply with easy methods. One of the reasons i enjoyed rccb xcom style gameplay currently over gfl2 rn for global is that the missions were in that game were so unique with interesting objectives. The mountain mission where you prevent kiril from destroying the mountains with his tanks via teleportation explosives you had to plan out while fighting sugar simultaneously or the final boss for the true ending where the boss was difficult with multiple challenging stages but were all fun to figure out despite the pain and quite nicely complex. There are so many missions i could list from rccb that gfl2 could take inspiration from for future content as where it stands, its just a simple run and gun with minimal thinking tbh lol. Even gfl1's puzzle style with movement and micro mechanics were fun in a way i guess. I still love gfl2 but i really hope they expand the combat missions and mechanics in the game since even gfl1 combat missions are more interesting and fun then gfl2 rn imo :p

What's so strange is that the code name bakery remake, despite sharing the same development timeframe, is just a straight up upgrade to GFL2 in so many game mechanics and mission variety. Everything in GFL2 boils down to more dps and requires almost no strategy outside building a team. Even GFL1 required players to be quite creative in balancing between dps and dealing with armor/shields, through units, hocs, fairies, equips, map mechanics, etc.
@TuriGamerКүн бұрын
Team building??? This is a bottom barrel gacha where you pick the highest tier units and win This game doesnt even have defined classes anymore everyone is just damage At most you pair suomi with wa2k or spas with alpha but youd pick them anyway because they are the highest tier units lool
@AguywholikesplaguedoctorsКүн бұрын
@@kudosjp2 Completely agreed. RCCB may only have 6 characters max with a decent portion of maps having less, it still is able to define their techs and require strategy for each of them to be used efficiently with each having basically a class combined with the unique maps. It’s incredibly strange that Mica chose to do the maps in gfl2 the way they are when compared to RCCB and as you said, time difference didn’t matter as they both had almost the same development time but released at different times. Gfl2 simplicity in battle really just causes teams to be damage focused as you only need to wipe all enemies to win unlike in RCCB focusing on wiping all enemies in mid to end game is not favourable with you needing to achieve objectives over killing usually. For example, you aren’t going to kill an entire hordes of elids and sugar with her urnc units when getting to the gate objective, in fact it’s prob a death sentence. Meanwhile, you don’t even need a tank or support in regular clearing for the most part in gfl2. The enemies are also quite simplistic with pretty much all of them being killed by just tap and click. There really isn’t much strategy with killing really. Just planned skills and shoot then done with cover just being a side worry. Even gfl1 had more creativity with enemies as you said with armor requiring planning of units to deal with it in teams and also shields requiring hoc support which results in more planning and strategy when dealing with enemies. Even micro is planned out in teams if your facing a hydra team or the argo vela for example. There was just more mechanics and complexity in both games that made combat more interesting than where gfl2 is rn lol. I yapped….TLDR: RCCB had interesting map design and in depth characters despite the team being small that it resulted in lots of strategy than simple killing clears for most maps. Gfl1 enemies simple mechanics of armor, dodge, or shields also encouraged better team building, planning, and strategy to clear objectives which altogether makes gfl2 seem lackluster in combat.
@AguywholikesplaguedoctorsКүн бұрын
@@TuriGamer That’s more of an issue with balancing and map design tbh. Also doesn’t help that the character pool isn’t super large yet. Let’s take neural cloud for example. There’s 60+ characters they made there with 5 classes. There “is” a meta for basic clearing for teams but late game is where that changes. It’s no longer becomes a dps check but a team build check along with it. There are a good amount of stages where I went back to farm for a sr character because of their abilities for team builds in some stages as they built stages at this stage revolving around classes and specific abilities for one to complete them. For example there is a stage where I had to build a specialist sr unit I never used for the debuffs it provided that allowed my team so that my team wouldn’t get out damaged so quickly or where snipers did so much damage but using warriors and teleport, I could clear them without them simply wiping my team in a couple seconds. This also defined the classes such as guard units tanking the damage, medics healing, specialists wildcard abilities, snipers for dps, and warriors for cqc damage. The stages and maps required different teams with different setups in end game which was quite interesting. Gfl2 really heavily suffers from map design and character pool in this aspect. They are still changing characters in cn and map design being just a simple damage clear pushes the high tier units to blitz through content as there isn’t ain’t strategy except damage rn for the most part and if the map design does change, there still needs to be more characters to be added to form more variety of teams as with the few characters we have, we just lean to 1 team that has chars that seem obviously better than the rest and just ball with it. TLDR since I yapped bruh: Team building system is alright but it needs map design, some character change stats, and character pool but also more complex units to make team building actually be good.

I will divide the topic for, 1. Difficulty. 2. Content 1. Difficulty, i think GFL has no good track record to make engaging difficulty. Either too hard, or too convoluted. Or too easy. I've played GFL1, Code name bakery, and ofc 2. I think Arknights has better difficulty. Not always, but overall. GFL1 is like switching toggles. You do you pass you don't you fail. Codename bakery is like you must use this skill that skill to stun, make it under X turn. Too convoluted. Kinda one dimensional, and then when they trying, it need specific steps to pass the mechanic. 2. For what I understand content is what severely lacking for GFL2. It simply don't have many things to do. And i hate the platoon implementation. Like they know they don't have much content, then imposing attendance check mechanism to it. There's another man down there saying Snowbreak. Yes if i want a gooner game, GFL2 won't stand a chance against Snowbreak. Overall better engine for visual (Unreal vs Unity). Better character showcase and interaction. Also much more generous gacha system. Daily that can be done in a minute, etc. Content wise, both has the same low content. So SB is clearly better. Like i wish i could move to GFL2 from SB, but i actually doing vice versa. I kinda wish, if they borrow XCOM gameplay, do XCOM things. Like deploying squads around the world, base building. Since the basic combat mechanic is actually not that bad, i read the tutorial missions. Kinda under utilized. Also, maybe the HOC system from GFL1. I hate the combat mechanic at GFL1 but i love the HOC system. I mean bringing heavy armament against incrementally difficult enemies was a life saver. Also the ability to capture enemy units. That is cool. I mean, we can do that at the end of GFL1 but it should be a norm in GFL2 right? Lore wise, we has already adopted SF technology.

I can definitely see the lack of variety in different content in the game rn. But making harder difficulties with bullet spongey enemies isn't really a good thing either. I think the event game modes were fun and interesting but it's a temporary fix, which was why I was really excited when I saw Project Net with gameplay similar to Snowbreak which I also play. From what I saw in the beta tests it's still rough on the edges with difficulty and graphics but I hope they can use something from it to add to GFL2

i remember my first survey suggestion for GFL2 was me hoping that the game will focus more on the strategy aspect of the game, instead of just use this one specific unit to win or upgrade your character to max so they have the stat to survive and kills the enemy i don't follow the cn side of the game, so i have zero clue about future content we will be getting or how is the state of the game there, but at the moment, content still on the acceptable level for me, some good here some bad there, though i agree some of the strategy aspect of the game is little bit lacking, the biggest disappointment probably was the platoon content for player below level 60, like what the fuck is that shit, clearing the exact same map layout with the exact same enemy line up two times every day for a week ? the problem isn't that it's too easy or too hard, it's just you doing the same thing TWICE every day, imagine playing chess, but your opponent do the exact same move every time, it would be novel for the first 3 or 4 times, but after that its just boring for your suggestion regarding key variation, it's a bit wild i think, since there's so much possibility with it, i would be happy if they implement something like that but we probably could settle for less, like make more combo unit, i really enjoy playing krolik+sharkly, and make more interrupt enemy unit, like the dinergate, zone denial will force you to adapt in your movement, basically, instead of just bumping up their defense and health, make more annoying enemy that capable of disrupting your strategy more unit that synergize with each other and more varied enemy ability capable of disrupting your strategy, that would be my personal suggestion focusing more on the fundamental side of the game instead of hoping new feature will bump up the strategy aspect of the game, though i would still accept if they went this route, i'm just not too hopeful

Personally i very much enjoy the current difficulty as its just enough. I can see the intrigue of some more of the contrivances from gfl1, but much of that, if brought into gfl2 and not balanced correctly, could potentially just be another "pitfall" as you put it, that would just hinder me from enjoying the game on a day to day. I'm 100% a "only here for the waifus" guy. (now invested in the story too so thanks) So idk if i would enjoy or appreciate alot more things being added to pad the game time. If we could rescue NPCs in 2 or had more interesting maps, that'd be one thing... but yeah... GFL2 for now is... not super hard. And no, you aren't wrong, GFL2 is a little too streamlined... like, it's not really optimized to be an RPG and caters too much for casuals compared to GFL1. Like, there's a lot of room and potential to fix that in time, but right now, yeah... it's not there yet, which sucks. Personally, I'm not a big 'meta' guy and prefer to just run who I like, unless I had to, but... yeah. it's a fine balancing act. Suppostly gfl 2 should be more and higher difficulty later on when MICA no longer need that much promotion. But idk, I heard that gfl 1 both cn and en did not made enough profit to sustain similar quality gameplay on gfl 2. Instead Reverse Collapes did gain the quality however that is behind a paywall so be it.

Eh, I think it's pretty unfair to demand that GFL2 reach in a couple of months the depth that GFL1 has developed over several years. What was the GFL1 EN experience like in July 2018? Not as deep and complex as it is now in February 2025, I wager. For that matter, even if they could reach that depth immediately, it'd almost certainly kill the game, since all the new players who DIDN'T come in from GFL1 wouldn't know shit about what's going on. It's going to take awhile, years probably, and that's just how this type of game develops.

Idt the stuff mentioned in the vid were mechanics implemented over the games lifetime. Sounded like pretty basic stuff that was there from start. Gfl2 simply doesnt have good basic mechanics. And no, it wouldnt kill the game lol. Every time u pick up a new title u learn how to play that game. Eg, arknights has good basic mechanics. Thats why people are still playing it for 5+ years when barely anything has changed aside from a new gimmick each event. Im not even including is, sss, or ra gamemodes.

GFL1 for good has a bit too much mechanics and deepness, compared to "modern" mobile games. As much as I'd like to see much more mechanics in the game, those from GFL1, like team building, equipment, micro control , etc. would be too much for modern players. Through I hope Mica in baby steps will try to add more complex mechanics. On the other hand, I hope they aren't done with experimenting on game modes. I know that Mica dumbed down Luffberry chess for GFL2, but still it would be great to see game modes done on GFL1 and PNC basis, RC may be too hard for general public...

GFL2 sucks. Can’t auto some stages because The A.I. is dogshit.

I DISLIKE THE FRIST GAME's GAMEPLAY. I just don't like 2D chibi looking characters in generally and that is why, to me, the second game is far more better than the first one.

I have rule when playing gachas I only read/listen to story that is voice acted. I am figuring if devs didnt believe in their story enough to voice act its propably total shit. The latest even was not voice acted which was big dissapointment. I hope they pick up a ball and even better if we get english voice acting so I dont need to read.

Huh? I did do escort/rescue missions for horde mode or drills. Have you tried those yet? In GFL2 if you didnt get suomi or machiatto i can see there be a struggle. Sad that the balance is based on gacha rarities and pulling for meta
