To those wondering how much of a disadvantage the Quartz squad leader is at the time and how him beating M4 is extremely op, M4 is the one of most advanced T-dolls available from IOP with her Mod3, normal T dolls can't even do this much calculation and can't act independently, not to mention she was supported by Dandelion at the same time to do calculations and have gained access to cameras at the facility, the officer didn't have exoskeleton on at the time for some reason and unlike M4 can't gain access the the ASST weapon system because as we can see he didn't have the electric device to allow him to use it, not to mention the officer was at a serious disadvantage there as the 5.45 from his AN94 can't pierce M4 (In the story Quartz actually managed to land multiple hits on M4 at 2:00 to 2:15 as stated by the story but none of them managed to pierce her, and M4 only managed to land one hit on him during the confrontation which is when we saw him bleeding) the Quartz leader realized that he can't beat M4 directly in a gunfight and managed to set her on fire, so he actually out performed and out smarted M4, the difference in battle experience between M4 and an elite who survived WW3 is just too big

Yet, M4 still miscalculated and fucked up. The goal was to reach the control room and hold it, nothing more, nothing less. But when the enemie was injured and ducked into a side room, she doesn't use this opening to fulfill her mission, but she goes on a nonsensical manhunt to finish him off. And the room she never had to enter happen to be a trap. M4 abandoned the mission just to go kill humans. That's it. She threw the advantage away and walked into a trap that wasn't anywhere near her route to the goal.

I can’t believe this person recreate every little aspect and detail of this cene alone! The dialogues, the fire exchanges, the surprise knife attack and counter attack, the smoke/flash and incendiary grenades! The accuarecy of those last shots to the KCCO soldier (hand/armpit/chest/knee/other hand) and how it ended all!!! Just a great fan recreation made with passion!!! Now that I read all that scene in the event just now, seeing this again is like seeing an anime adaptation itself!

Keep in mind at this point M4 is pretty advanced combat doll, perhaps the most advanced one if we count her ability to sync with Dandelion and just do EW all she want. Yet somehow this human officer managed to win against her, sure he died but he accomplished the mission against an advanced combat doll, Quartz squad leader needs a name to honour his badass achievement.

The pathway to the control room is a straight path, leaving him out there would means she would've risk gotten shot from the back or have grenades thrown into her again. The decision to hunt him down is correct, though she severely underestimate human tenacity, she already felt it is weird that the human throw smoke grenades but she still activating IR vision and fell into the trap.

It's a thing the creator did during his Chinese new year break. Although he wished he could do it better, I don't think he will be revisiting this anytime soon. Very nicely done but I feel you gotta be careful not making her seem too op, i had no sympathy for her and was rooting for the kcco guy to win. Otherwise nice animation, though bullets could feel more like suggestions for m4 when she gets lit up in the open for a second straight and doesnt take a hit

It's not my animation, I just got permission from the author to share it here. Besides, it's precisely based on the actual scene in PL where it happened, and the intention was to have you sympathize with quartz. M4 also has bullet resistance and some upgrades (like her arm protecting her from bullets, mentioned in text)
