Here’s two state championship teams a year apart from each other. This really shows all Wayzata needed was to get their defense together because all of these hitters returned for the 2019 season. Scott Jackson did a fantastic job filling the libero postition with Voegele (sorry for the misspelling) and the ds role with Seez. Helmich and Jesewitz also improved tremendously in the backcourt. So happy they got to experience a championship in 2019 they deserved it.

Highlights and funny moments: 10:22 One-handed set by Olivia Johnson 12:01 Synchronous CP dive 15:13 Remark, that is Avery Seesz (#2), not Julia Robley (#3). Uncharacteristic error for John, usually he is on point. 31:15 Great insight by Karl Katzenberger on what happened after 31:00 31:45 Nice scramble, but to no avail 39:23 "Phone booth" by Karl Katzenberger 39:42 Elizabeth Helmich super spike 39:48 Remark, the dark skinned lady in red is Bri Lucky, Wayzata's manager in the state-winning 2019 season. 48:20 Another cool insight by Karl Katzenberger on Wayzata out of system play 52:27 Emma Schmidt going 100% 57:14 Weird poses by Champlin Park, lol 57:20 CP friendship check 59:05 I'd join the Elizabeth Helmich fan club too! 1:01:50 Great rally 1:03:40 Another synchronous dive and great dig 1:05:38 Short service ace by Sophie Jesewitz 1:06:18 Wayzata bench having a good time 1:10:01 300 IQ play by Izzy Ashburn 1:10:14 Horror movie material (watch closely...) 1:15:59 LOL@ Karl Katzenberger's comment. "That's the husband and wife play - no communication." 1:19:28 Izzy Ashburn interview 1:20:46 Avery Seesz (#2) comforting a teary captain Julia Robley with a little pat 1:21:38 Wayzata captains Julia Robley #3 and Tatum Rubald #6 accepting the runner-up trophy with a few tears 1:22:46 Poor John Yunker, LOL 1:23:06 Champlin Park trophy presentation 1:23:42 While CP merrily celebrates, Wayzata takes their team picture (left side). 1:24:20 Remark, that's Reese Axness (CP setter in 2022) on the right. 1:25:00 Champlin Park team photo Two personal remarks: 1. Despite not winning, I think the 2018 Wayzata team is one of the most respectable of all time. Coach Jackson and his staff, the seniors (Robley #3, Rubald #6, Roberts #4, Anderson #26) lead the team through the unsuccessful 2017 season and back on the success track in 2018, with all the gifted Juniors and Sophomores that would become the state-winning team in 2019. They left the court gracefully and with dignity, taking a last picture in 1:24:10. What a great comeback after a winless 2017 conference. 2. Karl Katzenberger is an awesome commentator. No wonder he's such a good coach too, being so articulate, precise and humorous at the same time.

ok guys I'm in 6th grade and my first game is in 4 days and I've been trying my hardest to serve but I'm just not that good at it and I dont want to embarrass myself at the game, any tips?
@codyschwartz28274 жыл бұрын
I am in sixth grade too and this is my first time playing volleyball but I have played a couple of games with my school now. So with serving I would recommend that if you cant get your overhand to try to underhand serve but then progress to overhand. Also when you contact the ball rotate your body into the ball, it might give you more power. Also take a step when you serve for power. And hit it hard, but control it. Thats all I can think of, hope it helps.
@user-ut1mh7wl9q4 жыл бұрын
make sure you have your underhand serve before your over hand serve, when you hit, give it a good hit with power and make sure you have a target! Make sure to move and talk with your teammates

Hi Guys I’m graduating 8th grade soon and was thinking of starting to practice volleyball over the summer so I could join the team at my new high school. Do you guys think this is to little time to become good enough or is it to late to get into a sport at my age?
@riseoftmnt70563 жыл бұрын
Of course you can do volleyball at your age, it doesn’t matter what age you are in joining volleyball. If you want to try it out you can! 👍
@giannamarriee83073 жыл бұрын
It’s not too late at all. Volleyball can be started at really any age. I would recommend either communicating and practicing with someone who has player volleyball before or still plays. If you do not know anybody who has or still does, maybe you could talk to your parents/ guardians and see if they can get you a private coach so they can teach you personally and give you all the attention you need too learn. If they can not do that for you I would watch lots and lots of youtube videos on how to serve, pass a ball, how to dive, how to set, and how to do your approach and hit the ball to get a kill. After practicing for a while you’ll see what your best at and see what you need too improve on, by this point you’ll know what position is your favorite and what too try out for. Your going to have to put in a lot of effort because summer will only last two months.

I think it was mostly their libero and middle blockers. The setter had some good serves but, the libero didn't move their feet enough to stay with the ball. The middle blockers didn't go up fast enough and they didn't go into a 2 block which could've helped gain their team points. Pretty disappointing to be honest.
