You two picked the ideal spot for camping. When living in Georgia I would go hiking along the rivers and look for Salamanders. Usually I found them under a rock or limb. So much fun. Can't wait for part 2.

I love finding salamanders! I don't find them often where I am. That looks like a slimy salamander, or a maybee salamander. Its hard to identify which species they are when you are in the field. Keep up the good work!

Just a fun fact I'm sure you probably already know but, salamanders raise their tails like that as a defense mechanism because their able to live with out their tails so if a predator tried to snatch it, it offers up the tail like a worm on a hook giving the prey a snack and the salamander another day to live and their tails will grow back.

Wild places almost always exact a toll in blood - whether it's collected by mosquitoes or sharp objects, it's the price we pay to enjoy the solace of nature. That looked like a really nice spot for camping - hammock, tent, or even cowboy style. We'll be watching out for Part 2. Stay safe out there.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! The last time I did this, I was in a Warbonnet hammock with an underquilt and bugnet surrounding the entire thing. I will never camp any other way. Extremely comfy, bug resistant and dry all night :)

Was or is a real nice camping spot. Man watching you and another KZbin from your area of woods I need to explore a little more to the west. All my explorations have been 72 north and 131 east then a little bit around tippy damn. So awesome seeing the lady slipper too they have been my favorite to look for. The salamander too I found my first of that color after looking for them my whole life this spring I've had a few first this year the salamander, a golden eagle and a skink. Even though I'm so afraid of snakes just not a fan I'm hoping to see a Michigan rattle. But not in my yard or garden lol.

Really like seeing you and Michelle in the woods. Love the earrings and oh I’m so amazed at the things you find at thrift stores and Fairbanks dump! Cool salamander too. I’ve only seen the yellow spotted ones. My daughter and I have a ritual of going out on spring nights on our dirt road when they’re crossing and all over. Thankfully we have hardly any traffic but it’s fun to pick them up and put them out of the road. There are streams on both sides...they just can’t decide!

Gotta envy you being able to hike and camp: our forests are closed. No camping, no fires except for propane stoves. Forest fires expected en mass. Temperatures as high as 108. Whoopee! Love your channel.

Sometimes they put the videos up to watch for free on history.com/shows/alone. I watched the Making The Cut episode there for free last weekend. They usually put the videos up the day after the show airs. I don't have cable either, so if I can't watch for free there I will usually buy the season on Amazon. Still have to wait until the day after to watch, I just have to avoid social media until I watch it... :) Wishing you the best of luck Brooke! Awesome, girls camp out. Can't wait to see the rest. The salamander raises it's tail and moves it back and forth so if a predator was to attack it would attack the tail instead of the more vital parts of it's body. The predator will be busy with a mouthful sticky substance from the tail that it might stop there.
