Every story: "He's great and sweet and kind and wonderful. Also HOT." Is there at least one relationship where the guy isn't Mr. Perfect? Not everyone is a prime physical specimen.
@canuke Жыл бұрын
From a woman’s point of view, these men may not all necessarily be considered “hot” to the general female population. I’m guessing it’s the positive qualities of these partners that make them far more physically attractive to their women. As an example, I’ve encountered men that I didn’t find attractive at the outset, yet after getting to know them and realizing what wonderful human beings they were, I could see beyond their physical appearance and they began to look way more attractive to me.
@Wolfarior Жыл бұрын
As far as I understand, people idealize their loved ones. Things they would laught at while only friends (not necessarily being mean) would become part of the loved one, therefore part of perfection.
@MikMoen Жыл бұрын
@@canuke The main problem with that kind of mentality however, physical appearance is what opens or closes shut the door with first impressions for many people. If people aren't initially attractive to the eye, they're not given the opportunity to let the other get to know them.
@canuke Жыл бұрын
@@MikMoen Even though I’d love to argue with you, sadly, I have to admit that in most cases, your words ring true. Nonetheless, I want to remain stubbornly optimistic that not everyone is so shallow that they would automatically dismiss a person who doesn’t happen to fall within their “ideal partner” appearance parameters, despite how unrealistic that may sound. It costs no money to spend a few minutes of conversation with a person. Heck, you might even find out that they’re actually pretty cool. Call me a glass half-full idealist, I suppose.
@MikMoen Жыл бұрын

For my thoughts or “reverse-relatability” to story 15, I moved away from the place I grew up in the same summer before my high school years began, back to the place that I was born, in which I have all my family. With this, I made some good friends, even if it’s been just a couple or a few, and I do feel closer to the rest of my family. Regardless of this, I sometimes feel “robbed” of a possibility of a relationship I could’ve had with someone who I know well where I grew up. I haven’t really ever, and don’t have “my eyes on” a certain, one person yet, but I’m trusting time and fate to bring that person to me whenever the time is right.

The one sad thing here is how she is suspicious that he did something wrong after he said that he loved her. Ladies, be advised that we men are mostly very simple. If we say something, there is only one layer to it. Not 25 layers, of which 24 somehow mean something bad if you tilt your head and squint or think about it long enough. You know, horses and zebras and all that. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, in this case it was probably written in good fun. But it is hard to tell. This is how all the lame jokes of „men vs women“ come about where he states „Yes, this looks good“ about .25 seconds to too late and she instantly goes off on him like „So you think I am fat?!?!“

I have no experience, but this seems to be quite common from what I've heard. When a woman asks a man (husband or whatever their relationship status is) something and he just needs to think about how to construct his honest reply they're immediately suspicious of the guy doing something wrong. Some of us (like me) are introverts, and need time to give a proper answer to any (sudden) question.

Something that has helped me is becoming a Christian and realizing that no man or woman can be enough for anyone. Father or mother, husband or wife. Only God & serving Him can be enough for you. And if you’re worshipping anything as a false idol, it will destroy you. That includes members of the opposite sex, relationships, other people. You name it.
@johnkarako9138Ай бұрын
Late comment, but you're genuinely the first person I've seen on el internet who has brought this aspect up. Unfortunately, I've watched my parents serve as a prime example of what happens when the relationship is idolized above the Lord. The result has splintered my immediate family. Not wanting a pity-party, my family is who the Lord has provided, and I wouldn't have it any other way, but the consequences of being unequally yoked and idolizing a spouse over the Lord are very far-reaching.
@TheJacaliАй бұрын
@ appreciate your input man. I understand what you mean very much. It’s what happens when people run from God into sinful pleasure and our society becomes more secular. But I believe Jesus is making a HUGE comeback in our society and it’s beautiful to watch 😊 I used to idolize women as a false idol and my worship of sin destroyed me. But thanks to Jesus I’m coming back. Learning this and embracing the Lord has really helped me to forgive my family for not being perfect. May He watch over & guide you brother. Amen.
