Apparently, the town of Ooarai is a real place, a small fishing village much like in the show. After the success of the anime, it was reported that the attendance to the town's annual Angler fish fishing contest increased massively due to the number of tank nerds who came by curiosity. No mention if a tank shop opened there though.

Each verse, is according to the personality's character, so Saori sings about findind love with the fated one, Hana sings about the flowers, Mako about wanting to sleep, Miho about protecting her friends and Yukari sings about her love for tanks. Yukari's mentions specific battles that involved the Panzer IV during WWII

いいもの見させてもらいました。ありがとう。 ガルパンの曲を聞く為にイヤホンやらヘッドホンやら50万位は使いました。アニソンはテケトーに聞いてるけど、あんこうチームの歌は他のアニソンより明らかに優れていると思います。 まず、CVで歌っているクオリティの高さ。あとこれが決定的なんだけど、他のアニソンは大抵、音が広がる方向。ところがこのあんこうチームの5人の声は皆、周波数帯がバラバラなのに5人合わさると1本の筋のようにまとまって聞こえる。かめはめ波的な感じ。アニメと同様に本当にお互いの事が好きなんだぁと連想しまさ。だからこそ素晴らしい。下手な歌手よりも聞き応えがあります。 すばらしいの一言です。 もっと曲出してきかせて下さい！頑張って！ 長文失礼しました。
