I would like to see a comparison of the Girsan BDA and Girsan G84 (or Beretta 84BB/FS). Also, what would the operation advantages / disadvantages between the BDA-style 380 and the Cheetah-style (Girsan G84/Beretta 84BB)?

I have both the BDA and G84. They are absolutely identical except for the enclosed slide on the BDA and extra weight because of it. All parts interchange.

Don’t laugh here… My wife has a habit of brass hitting her in the face and down her shirt. Would that enclosed slide on the BDA help with that? Keep the spent brass from coming straight back? Thanks

"B" stands for BROWNING.... the original manufacturer of this type of .380 acp, featuring a "high capacity" mag,, and a DA/SA trigger. Beretta model 80's series came out later and competed against the Browning BDA, featuring a much more open slide, less metal on the slide, etc..

Yeah, no. Both guns made in Italy by Beretta. The differences being the slide and the safety mechanism. The original Browning BDA had a decocker; the Girsan has the frame safety from the Beretta.

The FN 140DA was a semi-automatic weapon manufactured by Beretta of Italy on behalf of FN Herstal of Belgium. The pistol was sold as the Browning BDA 380 in the United States and Canada. The pistol is a derivative of the Beretta Model 81 and 84, distinguished by an enclosed slide, a different safety system, and a different hammer. (from Wikipedia)

Nice shooting, and I like your shirt too. Did the extractor stick out when loaded, and is there a magazine disconnect? Not my cup of tea but I enjoy seeing all sorts of items that are available on the market. Take care.

No magazine disconnect. The extractor bulges slightly when chambered.

Girsan pistols are carried by the Turkish armed forces, police, and Malaysia special forces .

Sadly, my brand new BDA won't feed hollow point ammo☹

I just ran 5 different kinds of defensive hollow point ammo through this Girsan MC14 and it performed 100%. (Video coming out 6/27/24.) If, after thorough cleaning and proper lubrication, followed by 200 rounds of target ammo, yours won't run any type of hollow point ammo, it would be time to test out Girsan's customer service.

To decock one-handed, use side of thumb and place between the hammer and the frame while holding the gun with same hand and pull and release trigger letting hammer down to half cock.

Good to see your shoulder having healed fully. You shoot as if you never had surgery.👍 A 380 comparison would be nice. I just finished my SCCY CPX-4 project. MCARBO spring kit and Galloway mag extension with their grip tape. Has a 4lbs trigger now. The idea was to give the wife a gun with a caliber that has a little more stopping power than 22LR. After the mods the CPX-4 is a keeper and made it into my carry rotation in particular when deep concealment is required. Sorry, honey😂

I have this pistol and enjoy it as well. I also have the Tisas Fatih. Many similarities between the two pistols. BOth are Turkish made, and I would not be surprised that they are made at the same place. I prefer the two I mention over the flip up barrel "T" model because they have an extractor.
