no not worth it. You can get a Skmei or a Sanda homage for much, much cheaper. You can get a real casio 5600 and modified it. Total would be less than $100. The fake one, you don't know what materials they used and might end up costing you more. It might be silver plated and have a cheap movement. Like you said, the finishing is horrible. That is a big no no

I was actually about to buy a fake one.. the best way to tell if it was fake or not.. Look at the wording "Multiband 6", the fake ones, has the number 6 a little out bound of the K in G-SHOCK, they are not aligned.. Hope that helps..

How would you know some of these differences especially if you didn't have one to compare it to? And then again, there are so many different models. I'm sure these fake dealers are just trying to make money by copying such a brand that has years of different models and not advertising or telling anyone they're making and selling fakes. So in the end, it's awesome that we have someone sharing this information. Thanks!

@@fredminpin ask for pictures before paying. Compare the pictures to an images of an authentic one and look for the flags. Also… and most importantly. Buy the seller not the watch. Looks for an established dealer or trustworthy seller who has references. Lastly…. Protect yourself. If you can’t tell the difference then don’t buy from gray markets. Hope that helps.

As far as I could tell from the video, the numbers on the display weren't aligned properly. On the fake one I couldn't see the bottom of the numbers, let alone that the real one had even some space between the numbers and the edge of the display. Thanks for the video.

That's what I was going to say - it's the biggest tell, except the screen on the fake is grey and on the real one it has a very slight greenish tint.

Thanks for the informative review. I probably have a fake one, although: The face surround and the band are both brushed and the solar cells are dim . There is no number on the back of the band, and the screw-back has no indents whatever. It does say "made in Japan" on it. My watch has dual LED illuminators: RH top, and LH bottom. I cannot hear my watch make ANY sound unless I'm in a very quiet area. You did not mention two things about the differences in display: 1. The fake one is greyish and the bottom of the time display touches the bottom of the display frame. 2. The real display is greenish, and the bottom of the time display seems to be at least a one sixteenth of an inch above the bottom of the display frame. Finally, the price. I paid $79 US for mine & got it from an online place called the Halloween Shop (I think it is in China).

Yes you can use it. If you find a slight difference in the size, just file it a little to fit the slot. Because the original bands are expensive. Say 30% of the cost of the watch.

Nice informative video, I recently bought this model, because the price was 280 euro. I think is almost equivalent to the USD. Actually this model and an older one G-7800B is the only two Casio watches made in Japan that I own ,and I was thinking maybe it is a fake one. All the other ones are made in Thailand, even the protrek models. But according to this video it is the real one. The Bluetooth is working, the sound is the same, and the display has a very good contrast, compared even with the other g-shock watches. I think they improved the LCD. One thing that I observed is a red resin barely visible between the bezel and the black case of the module. It is normal? Or it is a shock absorbing material? The fake one has something like this?

You have mentioned all relevant differences but left out an instant giveaway of the fake. Don't need to even hold the watch and scrutinise details, just spend 2 secs looking at the watch window. Didn't you realise the time display is partially blocked by the window at the bottom section, so much that the bottom stroke of the time is concealed? Look at the extreme bottom stroke of the "8" and "9". Aren't they blocked by the window? Which decent watch manufacturer would position the time display till the bottom strokes are blocked from view? Obviously the authentic Casio's time display is higher up and more centralised. I am surprised you didn't notice that glaring flaw which is an instant giveaway. Well, this is certainly an ultra low grade replica. You definitely don't need a real one next to it to differentiate them. Even a $15 or $20 authentic digital Casio has decent positioning of the display.

i ordered this at AliExpress before i saw this video. Had my doubt already when ordering but took the gamble. Yep, it is the same fake one. When you see it on its own it is quite ok-ish , the functions are exactly the same. But bluetooth is not connecting, no solar power and no multiband 6. For the price it is do able i dont use the bluetooth anyway but the lack of mb6 and solar bother me. But then again not every g shock has those and especially not for 70 euro. My real 5610u has virtual armor mod so this fake one will not see much wristtime anyway.

dude!!! you have to lay these two watches on the table so you don't shake. and i can't tell your #1 - you have to explain better and use the right angle to catch the light. also it's harder to tell unless we have TWO watches to compare. that is why you need to lay these watches on the table with better closeups. the only real diff you explained are the recessed buttons, the cheaper price, and the serial number on the back - these things can be identified WITHOUT requiring two comparison watches it's obvious to you or a seasoned owner and you have both sitting in front of you
