I have been crying all day for three reasons. First, because of the excitement over the release of Angelina's first single from Republic Records. Second, because of the sheer beauty of "Million Miles" - the music, the lyrics, the production quality and, most importantly, Angelina's astounding voice! Third, I went back to reminisce with some of my favorite reactors over the years. Although I had viewed these reactions many, many times in the past, watching them now in light of this important milestone in Angelina's life and career was very emotional for me. It was like paging through the family photo album just after giving my daughter away at her wedding. The poignant memories about her youth are now colored with the knowledge that she has grown up and taken a huge step in her life. While we will follow and support her in whatever the future holds, she will always be the little girl we have come to know and love. Could someone please pass the tissues??

She's telling the story, not just with her lyrics, but also with her voice. I lost my older brother a couple of years ago So this hit close to home for me. I have probably listened to it now maybe 40 to 50 times and it has brought a tear every time. This isn’t her first original. As a matter of fact, she had already written it before Republic. Because they heard this, they signed her. Her first original is What Is Life? Which she wrote at age 11 and sang for the lyrical video at age 12. Another one is Oslo, about her home town. Another is Shield about how her family shields her and protects her. Then there’s this one, Million Miles, about the loss of her grandpa, and her latest original release is 7th Heaven. All of these are excellent; however, my very favorite is her first one, What Is Life, because of its simplicity and purity and insight at such a young age. Watch the lyrical one first before you watch the video she sings when older with a pianist and guitarist. Can hardly wait for her next original! Her God-given gift just oozes out of her!

You are thinking of, 'Fly Me To The Moon' where she holds up a full moon at the end. That is the song and how she sang it that got her the invite to Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration. After the festivities Quincy was supposed to have said that Angelina was, "the best young vocalist since Michael Jackson". Oh, and that stopping yourself from crying is a sure fire way to get the old noggin in an uproar. Of course the same can be said for crying, I know I get them. I've had regular headaches almost daily for the last 60 years. Then about once every 4-6 weeks they really get mean and lay me up for a couple days with my black out mask on and my 2-3 icepacks at the base of my neck and and on my forehead. When I can get away with it meaning no one else in the house I put my Allman Bros. Band on full volume and ride the wave. I'm sensitive to light on a regular day it feels like daggers in my eyes and out the back of my skull when I'm in the peak of one of my bad headaches. Sound has absolutely no effect on me, but you give me sliver of daylight through my dark curtains and I feel like I'm going to explode. Anyway on to Angelina's song. It is solid performance, it's not a spectacular piece, but it's not supposed to be. It is a beautiful tribute to her grandfather. And of course I cried. Angelina is one of my three favorite singers. The others Daneliya Tuleshova another 14 year old from Kazakhstan. and Morissette from the Philippines. These three singers are the best on the planet. They're all different and spectacular. If this is the example of the Republic Records type of "control" will have then I think they have a good chance of being successful. They need to understand that Angelina has a large and involved fan base. We are many and we are all eclectic types of people. Angelina has been part of my life for the last 3-3.5 years. I am one of many vicarious grandparents. So from thousands of miles away we will defend our girl. Thanks for your always colorful reactions.

I was 17 years old old when I saw the movie with my girlfriend shortly after it came out in 1970 and I can tell you there wasn’t a dry eye in the theatre. “Million Miles” brought tears to my eyes like “Love Story” did that back then.
