The little angel got quite sick before she did this performance during the Nobel Prize concert in Oslo. She sang for the winner on a outside stage in winter (barefoot of course)... But as usual her spirit and determination to sing, especially when it's for a good cause, won out. (This performance was to honor a little Swedish girl that stood up to her bullies in school, and then went on to help others in that situation). You just gotta love AJ... Thanks for your beautiful reaction Gitana.

Angelina is known as the barefoot princess as at age 6, she gave her shoes to a 6-7 year old street vendor in the Middle East. She wrote a book about the encounter (making her the youngest published author in Norway). In her own words, Angelina speaks about this encounter on NRK TV "Lindmo" with English CC (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo ). She also reads from her diary (written at age 6) about this encounter. She has committed herself to never wear footwear in her performances, until all children had shoes to wear. She's been extremely active in humanitarian efforts, helping to raise tens of millions of euros for those at risk.

This is such a beautiful song already when reading the score, and Angelina only makes it better. It's like she said about "Million Miles", it comes right out of her heart.

You’re right, she’s that good. She bring a warmth and depth that other artists don’t have, even the singers that wrote the songs, or the best cover versions. And, she brings an understanding and empathy of the meanings and the emotions of the songs that few can. She’s more than a mere mimic, she makes her interpretations better than the originals.

Angelina is the most complete young artist we have in the world today! Many who sing well, but we can ask them if they can switch credibly between jazz, edm, pop, country, and classical music in no time. In addition to her beautiful voice, you also have a unique communication ability. After Angelina has sung a cover song, I rather continue on her and forget the original artist. And she's still only 15 years old.

Not only can she sing any genre of music, she writes, arranges, is good in the studio, is good live, and is even good at home singing on a couch. Angelina can do anything she sets her mind to. She is a unique talent and one that is only going to get better with time she is 18 now and looking stunning.

Angelina is a master of this song. She takes her time with every note. She lets it simmer and sooth. How an 8 year old can have this deep of an understanding of how something should sound is just baffling, but she really does understand it. I always like to point people to this rehearsal video where the band is going a little too peppy on the first take.... she slows them down and on the second run it is just perfection. This is not someone telling her how to make it sound, this is her (an 8 year old) explaining to others how it should sound. Baffling I say...... kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIbClZV7eNSSa8k BTW: as far as the frequency that you do Angelina videos.... as someone that tries very hard to keep up with all things Angelina, I say take your time with them ;)

Thank you ☺️... it’s nice to go slow with the journey . I agree with what you said, she’s has even mastered at this age the art of knowing when to go slow and let the band follow your lead with extra time on pulling the words out . Just as with a comedian it’s a lot about natural timing and not so much just a joke or in her case the lyric but the timing of delivery 💓
@wajj18424 жыл бұрын
@@GitanaAdelle Restraint is a rare commodity in a young singer, but it is one of Angelina's strengths. Listening to hours and hours of great jazz singers, she has internalized their timing, phrasing, and restraint. So when the band wants go a little too fast, she intervenes because she "knows" how it should be performed.
@johnbattles10024 жыл бұрын
@@GitanaAdelle, I think you're very wise in choosing to go the "slow burn" route with Angelina. There's an old saying: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." That's true, but you can sure feed it a little handful of salt every now and then on the journey to make it thirsty! ;) So, if you want to give us a "handful" of Angelina every now and then on the journey to keep us thirsty for more, then I'd say you're a good cowgirl! Angelina doesn't just sing and write songs; she sings and writes miracles!

I just wonder if just sat and listened to these old songs with her grandparents either on old records or on the radio. She is such an old soul in a young persons body. She is such a Beautiful singer. I believe you listen to her so much because you are such a big time fan of hers. Its like if someone tells you to stop listening her, it's like someone tells a big time Elvis fan to stop listening to him. It will never happen. I don't think that it's not that someone wants you to stop listening to her, I believe they just want you to react to the songs they want to hear and they want to share their songs with you also. I hope I put it in a way that you understand. We want to share your songs and our songs with each other.

Maybe the "dizzy" isn't forgetting to breathe but a significant drop in heart beat rate. That would be more likely physiologically than reduced breathing rate. Or maybe both? I unexpectedly will find excess water in my eyes totally by surprise when she sings a certain way. Somehow her singing affects a bit of our brains, in the autonomic nervous system, where heart rate is controlled. The opposite of the fear reaction, "fight or flight" which happens when we are scared or surprised. ?? I think tearing up without crying may also be controlled in the same way. I wonder if her music should be studied for its medical effects? The immune system is controlled from the same / nearby place.

She was born learning English from her parents and grandmom as a second language, as do many homes in Scandinavian countries. At 18 months old, she was listening to Whitney Houston sing (in English) "I Will Always Love You." She listened to it over and over, and there is a short video clip of her singing it herself at 1-1/2 years. The Norwegian elementary schools also teach English as a secondary language. You can also check out three KZbin videos of Angelina not only singing but also READING the lyrics (at age SIX!) in English in a professional sound room studio. They are Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," Tom Jones' "I Who Have Nothing," and "Hurt" (can't remember original singer). She speaks Norwegian, English, Farsi (Mid-Eastern dialect picked up from her maternal Iranian grandmother), a little Swedish (from her Swedish-born father & paternal grandfather), and a little Japanese (from her Japanese maternal grandfather who passed away in 2018).
