my only issue with osea is that some products have essential oils/citrus oils which are sensitizing to the skin

Can you clarify? Sensitizing how? And, what is the environmental impact of using essential oils? So many people swear by them. I can’t use them due to migraines, so I’m just curious. Thanks!
@k.s.paulsen28973 жыл бұрын
It depends on where the essential oils are sourced, as well as personal sensitivity. Some companies are very responsible and make a great effort to be both sustainable in their harvest and socially responsible by paying fairly and supporting the communities they work with to provide much needed health-care and other resources. DOTERRA is the one I use. They have a strong set of social and environmental values and produce safe, top quality oils. However, demand does produce in overconsumption generally, and essential oils are concentrated, and should always be diluted with a carrier fluid, depending on the use.
@Viennafly13 жыл бұрын
@@Ripplesinthewaters Repeated exposures of certain chemical compounds in essential oils in the skin can cause reactions eventually due to cross reactivity. Your body has cells that present certain things to your immune system, and your immune system sees it as a threat and reacts. For example, if you get poison ivy on you, the urushiol in it causes your immune system to give you that rash. Say you put essential oils on the rash. Your body could couple those essential oils to that rash then start to see both as a threat. Now you react to the urushiol in poison ivy and the compounds in essential oils that your body thought was a threat. To reduce the chance of cross-reactivity, ideally you want to limit exposure to things that are aren't needed in a product (like essential oils). This could happen with anything, but the reason to exclude essential oils from products is that the risks outweigh the benefits of using them. I hope that was an okay explanation! :) If you're really interested, you can go down the rabbit hole in immunology of Type 4 hypersensitivity reactions and cross-presentation of antigens. >.< #medschool

Boiling the oil sounds like it would kill off some of the nutrients in the oil. I like to mix argon oil with rosemary, and a couple other essential oils that support your hair health, and just rub it in after I wash, while its wet, like Gittmarie did in the video. Its a leave in way to moisturize and nourish long hair. And since it's all natural it doesn't pollute the ocean when I swim.

You're still young, so it's a great time to change the way you apply eye cream and face moisturizer. I was told to avoid stretching my skin by dabbing and patting, instead of rubbing and dragging to spread it around. Makes all the difference and feels nicer too! Also wastes less of the product on your hands ✋! Thanks for sharing! Osea sounds fantastic!
@woolypuffin3923 жыл бұрын
I tried this but always feel like it takes soooo long to dab the Products in 🙈 Also how do you remove eye makeup? How do i do that without dragging the skin?
@k.s.paulsen28973 жыл бұрын
@@woolypuffin392 well, I used to struggle with how long it took too, but then instead of focusing on everything I had to do for the day, I focused on pampering myself in that small moment, and grew to enjoy it. As for makeup removal, I like to start with several cold or warm splashes, depending on the weather, and then soak a face cloth with warm water and press and hold it against your face, and do some whole hand pressing dabbing. It gets a lot of pressure points so feels like a massage during the process. Water is a universal solvent, so it starts breaking down the makeup and the washcloth carries most of it away. Whatever is left, you can remove by dabbing specific spots with a good healthy cleanser or skin oil, like argon, olive, or avocado oil.
@darkcherry8021 Жыл бұрын
Have you looked into the oil cleansing method? It's using non-pore clogging natural oils like Almond or grapeseed and then using a warm cloth that's re-usable. It's oil, water, and cloth. My skin is acne prone and looks great like yours. It also keeps my face moisturized. Some oils act like a low natural spf like coconut oil. I am pale but won't wear sunscreen. It hasn't been around long, pollutes water, and makes me need to shower more. I use dark clothing and do my activities after 2pm or before 10am. I wonder how people survived without sunscreen before the 1900s? Long sleeves, shade, hats, and umbrellas. Love your channel! I hope you stay on path and don't let popularity ever make you stray. From what I have understood a larget percentage of the sun's rays still make it through clouds etc, and therefor it is highly reccommended to wear sunscreen even if its cloudy and you're inside all day. If you have windows= the sun is damaging your skin. Basically everything else you do, doesn't mattee too much, if you don't wear sunscreen because the sun is so damaging.

I have a tin of dried hops and rosemary, I make a tea out of it, add a splash of apple cider vinegar, let the cool to room temperature and soak my hair in it. Normal shampoo and conditioner don't work for my hair but this does, I don't make that tea too far ahead because dried hops and rosemary lasts longer. For special occasions I'll also spray my hair with rose water (and spray it on my face too)

Whether or not the sun is shining it's rays are still damaging your skin. Dermatologists will recommend that you wear sunscreen even when you're inside if you're a person who keeps their shades open all day. So basically the only time that sunscreen isn't crucial is at night when you're going to bed

I had the same problem, but I found something! The residue from past shampoos accumulates in your hair, to help the transition from 'normal' shampoo to a natural one you can do a clarification (I think it's what it's called?! At least it is in French 😅). You mix 1 to 2 tsp of green clay with your shampoo, you wash your hair, let the shampoo sit for about 3mn, rince it, apply an hydrating mask for as long as you can (at least 5mn), and then you rince with about 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 1L of warm water. That might help, although, if the shampoo is not right for you, it'll just not be. Also, do your own research, because I might have messed up something 😅

@k.s.paulsen28973 жыл бұрын
If they are an otherwise healthy, quality product, I'd say use them to avoid being wasteful, but if they aren't, then throw or five them away, as they won't be doing you or your environment any favors. Friends often gift me unnatural products that I will never use, and when I can, I pass them along to people who don't have any of the basic necessities in life...the homeless. It's not a perfect solution, but it does some good from an otherwise wasteful situation.
