You have to remember that Gitz is playing on lan, where it's much easier to aim with hitscan than when playing online with higher ping. The style of UT has also changed a lot, especially since we don't have overpowered mini and pulse anymore (due to tiw, which is integrated into Pure). The level of players like bleh today is far above that of players like Gitz back then. However, who knows what would've happened if Gitz had kept playing for the same amount of time.
@green1985i6 жыл бұрын
yeah, integrating the "no-lockdown" for mini and pulse and lowering the DPS was one of the better things to happen for UT in that time, made it so much more entertaining to play. Even to watch after all these years! Funny how other FPS game developers do not let players create mods to taylor the games to their needs.

@isaachartford15355 жыл бұрын
@@usernameunidentified9874In any PVP game the score is not relative to your skill but relative to the skill of your opponent. And the scale of these numbers is different in every game. In UT99 the score differences can be massive, even between nearly equally skilled players, because spawnkills are very easy and the prediction weapons do a huge amount of damage, leading to a snowball effect (because you die, you are more likely to die soon after).

No autoaim, no self time restoring hp, no xbox pad gaming with aim assistance. Tell this now to players lol. But i stll prefer Quake 1/2 ;)
@purebaldness3 ай бұрын
I'd say things have come a long way over the past 10 years with console FPS. Lots of 'boomer shooters' have hit consoles, so 2 weapon limits and health regen are no longer _expected_ by players curious enough to look past Call of Duty. Then there's Rainbow Six Seige and the much, much less popular Killzone Shadowfall, which both do not include any aim assistance in multiplayer (I still hope more games will adopt this approach). PUBG's console version has such a minuscule amount of aim assist that it may as well not be there and might not even be noticable by less dedicated players. Then there's games like Quake 1/2 and Doom 2016/Eternal, where you're strongly incentivised to disable aim assist as it interferes with centering and projectile aiming. As for 'auto aim', that was quickly replaced in the early 2000's by 'aim assist' due to the popularity of Halo. I feel like the time tor an Unreal/UT99/UT2004 remaster has never been more obvious, but I guess Epic hates anything that isn't Fortnite.
