15:17 There was a curse set on the Davidic line in Jeremiah 22 that none of his descendants (starting with Jeconiah) would prosper and rule. This means that any DIRECT descendant of the line of kings is disqualified to reign on the throne of David as the messiah. Through the legal precedent set forth by Moses for the daughters of Zelophehad, Jesus was legally accepted as a legal successor to the line of David without being a cursed direct blood descendant of Jeconiah. At least that is as I was taught it.

Isaiah 11:1, in a great messianic passage, tells us that “there shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.” Jesse, as we learn elsewhere, was the father of David. Jeremiah writes: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness’” (Jeremiah 23:5-6). The New Testament presents Jesus as the fulfillment of this requirement for the Messiah...(for more info click on link below ) jewsforjesus.org/jewish-resources/messianic-prophecy/the-messiah-would-be-a-descendant-of-david

The average 20 year old's intelligence Asking a smirking, naive 20+yr old with little, if any meaningful life experiences what value they put on religion, democracy, free speech, morality, justice, or on another human life is often like trying to explain to a 3 yr old that fries and ice cream is not a good meal. We all learn the hard way. Self-knowledge only comes by failure. As Denzel Washington said"by failing big time. " We've nearly all been thru the stage that said, "You know my parents learnt a great deal from me. They grew up a lot from when I left school until I was 25 or so.

I have a question. How can you say that you hold the Ten Commandments tightly like Jesus, when you disregard the 4th commandment, ''Remember the 7th day and keep it holy''? Nowhere in the Bible does it say worship God on the 1st day or Sunday because Jesus rose on Sunday. It's ok to celebrate it but not to replace the 4th commandment with it.
@TheLloyz5 жыл бұрын
Seventh day adventist eh. Does keeping the sabbath on Saturday save us? Does keeping it on Sunday condemn Us to hell? Or are we saved through faith in Christ alone by faith alone. The OT never uses the word Saturday, sabbath means rest in Hebrew. In the 4 th commandment we see a 1 in 7 principle. The NT church changed the sabbath to Sunday almost entirely ecclesiastically. Though rev 1:10 does say Lords day = Sunday. Long story short are you really willing to say the early church was wrong? John of revelation, Paul? If so then what reason do we have to think the early church wasn’t wrong about the gospel or about Christ? Sir I would reconsider calling Gods early church wrong. Only the SDA started making a fuss about this Saturday worship in the 1840’s. So why focus on just one commandment? Shouldn’t we focus on Christ and the gospel found in 1 Corinthians’s 15. Jesus kept the law perfectly for us. Too often our SDA friends miss the Mark by talking about side issues and disagreements that are not central to the faith and elevate them to places they ought not be.

Jesus IS our Sabbath. Jews still wait till the end of the week to find rest. Believers find their rest at the beginning of the week and it stays with us. But actually we no longer find our rest in a day. We find it in the person of Christ Jesus. Jesus said "I am Lord even OVER the Sabbath." "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Its a day that was designed to give man rest but Jesus said "come to ME all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." Plus the Bible tells us that the law was only a shadow of what was to come and that Jesus is the substance causing the shadow. It's sort of like if my wife is away for a week and on the day that she returns I see her Shadow approaching me but instead of kissing her I drop down and start kissing her shadow. This is an illustration of someone who tries to keep the law but ignores the finished work of Jesus Christ. In other words the law is just one giant arrow pointing to Messiah. The law says that on the Sabbath we are to cease from all work and just completely depend on God. Jesus is the only man who has ever been able to do this since he rested the entire Sabbath day in the grave. he is the Fulfillment and the end of the law. Hope this helps. God bless and peace

For the guy at 15:05 For his first point, Jesus is a descendant of David. There are two genealogies given for Jesus in the New Testament. One genealogy from Mary, the other genealogy from Joseph. Both Mary and Joseph descend from the line of David. Jesus is by blood a descendant of David through Mary, and Jesus receives his right to rule through Joseph. Not one Messianic prophecy from the Old Testament is invalidated by the immaculate conception of Jesus, he still inherits the throne of David by birthright. As to his second point, not all Jews will be saved by the Holy One of Israel according to Isaiah 10:22, which says, "For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness." His third point is just questioning the exclusivity of Christianity, which he doesn't even seem to regard his own Jewish faith as exclusive, so this would take a good bit of reasoning to get him to even properly discuss these exclusive truth claims. But the short answer to why Christianity is exclusively true, is because no one can earn heaven, or work their way toward salvation; Jesus Christ is the only one who offers the gift of eternal life freely. Acts 4:12 is uncannily true by saying, "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." You can not start practicing Buddhism and achieve nirvana by proclaiming Buddha. There is no religion that offers total redemption, complete salvation, under just one condition - there is only Christ. Romans 10:9 "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Peter the strong one with great natural talent of self confidence, would have understood those who were overly wilful, and fed them as the Lord had told him to do. John 21:15-17 King James Version (KJV) 15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He would have been well suited with his own inherent wilfulness to understand the disobedient runaway who was wilful, living on the streets, maimed by a life of drugs and petty crime, to say with great sincerity, there go I but for the grace of God.

Cliffe's son Stuart makes a great point at the start, saying how Christianity was adopted by the Roman Empire. He says he's never heard an atheist debunk it or explain it. It's well known in history that Constantine made Christianity official in the 4th century because it had a big following and was growing. Better to embrace it and include it in the list of official religions than to try and ban it. I can well understand that stories of a man who had amazing supernatural powers and who it was claimed was the Son of God who died a terrible death for all of man's sins would gain attention. Once Constantine had made it official then obviously it was likely to become more and more popular. The story has lots of appeal, especially to the poor, and downtrodden, the hope of a better life in heaven is a very comforting thought, but just believing it doesn't make it true.
@j2mfp785 жыл бұрын
I know kind of like evolution. The government adopted it and pushes it on the public without any other competing theory. I can also see the appeal since according to this theory we are just getting better and better and the weaker die off plus their is no accountability and we get to create our own made up imaginary purpose. Who wouldn't prefer that. You get to be the god of your own created little world. 😉

@@saintpaulofyoutube4416 I guess the point Tom is making is that just because they wholeheartedly believed it and were willing to make such sacrifices for their belief in it and that it flew in the face of their traditional religious way of life and was harder for them to profess that they believed in Jesus Christ as the son of God back then, that doesn't tell us whether or not what they believed and professed in was a reality. All it tells us is that they THOUGHT that they had good reason to believe it was a reality but it doesn't rule out the possibility that they could have been mistaken, misguided, deluded, fooled......you name it, the list of other possibilities outside of it being true is endless and we have to eliminate all of those out before we have no other option but to accept that what they believed in must have been a reality.

To Tom one step ahead and Saint Paul and to all others I'm staying out of this one. Because I don't want to discuss it I'd like to make a lot of great points both in support of Christ and even in support of atheism not the atheist was true because it's not and it is wrong to follow it if you know it's wrong to follow it if you don't you have a light that God allows you to have in this moment but I'm not going to get into this discussion of War today I don't feel well I'm quite ill right now and I need some rest but I did enjoy listen to the video the rest of you on here that like to joke around a lot I understand why you want the humor I do get it but rather than using the humor to tear people down or to go against each other we're just have regular dialogue a is that sound good a Canada I'm just trying to use my lighter side anyway please discuss things the way we should even if you don't believe in Jesus Christ you should believe in loving one another and treating each other with respect which ironically is what Christ taught so what do you believe in Christ or not you should believe in his teachings just as some people don't necessarily want to follow Gandhi but they might follow some of his teachings furthermore and lastly you have free will to choose what you want you can choose to follow God you can choose not to follow God you can choose to believe in God or to ignore gun that's all up to you but your choice is what determines your decision for fate North has had decision for fate because really you are creating your own fate if you choose to ignore anything involving God you can just say well if I'm dead in a hundred years would I rather be worm food and some people saying these videos or die rather be somewhere very special and God comes again to bring us home that's all up to you very simple for God bless you even if you're an atheist goodbye.
