The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

The kid asked what the difference was between being baptized in water vs the baptism of the Holy Spirit but it was never explained the difference just that the only explanation given was a definition of water baptism and that it’s a an outward gesture of being born again and that the act doesn’t save but Jesus does.

I am not a scholar, but my understanding is that one of the first acts of becoming a Christian should be to be baptized, as an act of obedience, but not to be saved. This would be water baptism, as we see this in the New Testament with an example like the Ethiopian eunuch found in Acts 8:26 - 40. Baptism has a symbolic picture of dying to sin, and being raised to a newness of life. Some Protestants see baptism as something for believers, and others baptize infants, before they believe. As far a spiritual baptism, many preachers believe this happens at the time of conversion, when the Holy Spirit comes to indwell believers. Some Pentecostal preachers teach it is a separate event, but is not about conversion, but about being empowered. It is good to study and pray about this. Most teach that even though every born again person has the indwelling Spirit, there are times of separate fillings, as we are commanded to be filled with the Spirit, instead of being drunk with a wine (See Ephesians 5:17). Answer for minute 8:00 - we were made to live in a faith relationship with God. We left that relationship in the garden. God by his grace provided a way to come back to that faith if we repent and believe in him once again. The story of the Bible is God's story of drawing sinners back to him and giving them all a choice to get back on track with what our life in eternity was meant to be. We are not meant for hell. Hell is for the fallen angels and those who refuse God until death or reprobacy to pay for their sins eternally since they wouldn't accept the eternal Christ as payment.

Cliff is right on alot of topics except the fact that he once said "catholics who accept Christ are our brothers in Christ." That simply isn't true. Once a person genuinely accepts Christ they no longer call or consider themselves Catholic because having ANY sort of attachment to catholicism is satanic. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " On The Origin of Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology but I accept micro Evolution such as speciation and adaptation because there's no evidence of macro Evolutionary biology nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. They truly believe in the non existence of God and this baffles many believers, that atheists can actually believe in their preposterous nonsense. But this could happen to anyone. Atheism is so seductive that even believers can be seduced by it, if they unwisely look into it deeply giving it some consideration. The delusion of atheism is so powerful that atheists seemingly cannot be reasoned out of it. I struggle with whether or not to type this out, but I think the same thought as I watch all of the modern Ask Cliffe videos.. Stuart just does not seem to have the same gift that his father has with answering tough questions and conveying the message and story of the Gospels. He goes down these confusing tangents that frustrate me to watch because I feel like these curious students are being led further away from an answer, and he presents his arguments with an almost pompous confidence. Then don't worry. Your baptism is still working in you. My dad was baptized as an infant, but he didn't go to church for many years and eventually came back to god and is now a pastor. When you were baptized God saved you, and your renewed faith means your baptism is still "valid" for lack of a better term. As long as you are baptized at least once in your life and believe, you are saved.

It's impossible for sinners to understand what heaven really is because our nature is sin. I've found myself thinking that there are so many things I like to do.. thoughts I have that I have that I know aren't Godly.. if heaven doesn't have those things I like, wouldn't it be boring or "Bland"? Then I think what my nature will be if I'm sinless? Our creator loved mankind so much that He humbled Himself.. An impossible concept for an ALL powerful entity as God... Everlasting life in itself is quite a concept to try and get a handle on. But it’s not just living forever. It’s much much more than this. And as God has gone to all this trouble for the joy of getting it for us, such as suffering the loss of the lost, the mayhem in the world and being a sacrifice for us, it must be fantastic. God knew before He created mankind that part of the deal would involve Him becoming a man to save mankind. Therefore He could have avoided it by not creating the human race. But He goes ahead with it anyway. It’s because what He has in store for us is so fantastic. And as a caterpillar presumably has no idea what it’s like to be the butterfly he is yet to be, neither do we have a clue what God has prepared for those who love Him.

Sin was not in our nature, originally, when God created us. We have imbibed sin through our free will choice and have passed it on the next generations. We can choose to remove sin and its cause by going through a process with God where God's Love clears away the causes of sin so we no longer have a desire to sin. This is when we become born again and only then can we enter heaven but it is a very difficult process which involves many things, emotional overwhelm being one of them and it is not just a matter of belief or faith, as Christians believe. Change has to occur on the substance level of the soul and that can be accomplished only through the reception of God's love, in a sufficient amount so that our soul transforms from human soul to Divine soul.

I look at the reason why God put the tree in the garden in simpler terms; for example I brought a chocolate cake for my birthday and i told my son not to touch it. The cake looked so tempting to him that he immediately start eating the cake once I turned my back, and because he disobeyed, i did punish him. Now should I have not put the cake in the fridge although I knew it would be a possibility that he would disobey ( maybe) but if I gave him everything else in the fridge and asked him simply not to touch the one thing in the fridge because it was mine, and I deserve to have something I could call my own, I do not see nothing wrong with that. I can not do something I want to do in fear that it would always make my son stumble and fall, because he has his own mind, and he knows that if I told him not to touch it and someone else come along and say it is ok to touch it, He has a choice to make, to touch it and disobey or not touch it and be obedient. Adam and Eve hid from God after they ate the fruit, not only because they were naked but showing that in itself they immediately knew that they had sinned.

I’m sure the church father can give you tons of resources. Even in the Bible it talks about how Christ and his apostles established a church and Paul even says the church is the pillar of truth. 1 Timothy 3:15 but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is what Jesus said to wait for and the 120 received in the upper room. They had already been believers with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, but this was different: it was God's power and miracles and new languages. Nothing has changed. The gifts are for today as well.

If an atheist/agnostic will get down on their knees and say the following prayer, God will eventually set them free of their atheism/agnosticism and grant them eternal life. This is the prayer that’s to be prayed sincerely. “ God if you exist and if it’s true that you came to earth in the form of the Lord Jesus, died on a cross to forgive my sins, rose from the dead 3 days later, and if you want me to worship love and obey you God, and be a follower of the Lord Jesus, I pray Lord that you make this possible and have it come true for me”.

Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " On The Origin of Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology but I accept micro Evolution such as speciation and adaptation because there's no evidence of macro Evolutionary biology nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. Something I’ve been kicking myself for is not going to church, but after seeing the amount of money a church makes it made me wonder are they doing this to spread the word of god or are they using gods name to make money. I’m glad I have KZbin and social media to get the word of god for free but I do miss the days of going to church, back then church overall was a good experience and I felt happy to be there, now it seems like they try to make money every chance they get, last time I went to church I was 12-13 (19 now) and atp they would have concessions stands selling, holy water, t-shirts, bibles etc and it rubbed me the wrong way, I was given a free bible, and holy water back then why is it costing money now, I get people need to make a living but if money is the root of evil why promote it in the church. You guys lmk y’all opinions I’m open to hear what people think about this topic

Your comment struck a chord with me Tony, it's always been contentious that churches are exempt from paying taxes .. what did Jesus say about "give to Ceasar what is his"? i guess that can be interpreted in different ways, i always took it to mean "pay your taxes", those taxes go to lots of things that ensure a thriving society, eg: paying for essential services, police, fire, ambulance, roads, social housing, social funds for the poor, I'm sure Jesus would approve of those practical things, especially helping the poor, wasn't that something he was for?, The wealth of Churches, especially in the USA is off the scale. Yet there is so much poverty. I am all for taxing the ultra rich more, and that money being spent to build hospitals and social housing etc.

Imagine how different this world would be if the Ultra rich had their wealth capped at, lets say $1billion, ( more than any human being needs to live a life of luxury), and anything beyond that went into a pool of money to be used for good causes that help the poor. Things like homelessness and starvation would be practically wiped out overnight. I can see lots and lots of benefits and very few negatives at ensuring such a scenario. The reality is though, it will almost certainly never happen as the rich also have the power. But it's good to discuss it.

God sees them all, each one - and remember, very very few are making the kind of money you see a handful make in certain parts of the world. Just because we see a church that’s the biggest or the loudest doesn’t mean that’s how they all are. ❤ AND, just because a church is blessed by the tithes and offerings of the congregation doesn’t mean that church is not in the will of God. Ultimately, let God lead you. Be sensitive to His voice on where you should be.

Hey Cliffe, I am a Christian born and raised. I believe in God and will always have faith in him. One idea I have always struggled with was pre-destination and free will. Growing up I was always told God let’s us choose what we want to do with our free will and you preach that in your videos as well and I really do believe it as well. However I was also raised being told God lives outside of space and time therefore knowing all the decisions I will make in the future. If he already knows these choices how am I not predestined to go to heaven or hell. I get free will means I get to choose what I do every day and live in the steps of God but how does him knowing my choices not predestine where I go?

God's foreknowledge is not causation. God is love. He would never create anyone to deliberately go to hell. He knows our choice for or against Jesus in this one lifetime we each get, but He did not cause those choices. Salvation is by grace, not by works, lest any man should boast. But one who is truly saved will show it in their life.

10:16 Great question, heres the answer: Acts 8 Phillip was baptizing people, then came Peter and John, and gave them the gift of the holy spirit, through the laying on of hands. THAT is how you are born from the spirit. The laying on of hands, as well as baptism can only be performed by someone with the authority of the priesthood. Thus why Peter and John came by, and not some other random person. Which means, my friends, im sorry to tell you but you have not been born from the spirit so your baptism is half baked. Not even half baked, because the person baptizing you was not a priesthood holder (not have the authority to baptize) your baptism straight up didnt count. I know its hard to take in, but there is hope. look for answers and you will find.

If God has chosen from before the creation who belongs to HIM and who doesn't belong to HIM, and HE has given all of mankind a free will, do you honestly believe those whom God draws to HIM for salvation by HIS grace are capable of resisting the will of God to belong to HIM. We have scriptural texts speaking about all of mankind would perish apart from God's grace to salvation and that not one would seek God, we also have passages, such as the Pharaoh of Egypt, where the Pharaoh was raised up for that very purpose in which the Pharaoh had no free will choice, just as Judas had no free will choice for his roll in the salvation plan. And we also have scripture describing how the disciples didn't have a choice in their roll and they knew Yeshua was the Messiah because God revealed this truth to them by HIS grace, of which the natural outcome would be to follow Yeshua for salvation by the grace of God. God's grace is sufficient and all fall in accordance to the will of God. My position on the matter can be viewed as Calvanistic, however, I recognize and agree with you that all of mankind is granted a free will by God. However, the differentiating factor I cannot ignore is that we are saved by the grace of God alone, and were it not for God's grace to be granted me that I too would perish just as all others who God has not granted HIS grace to salvation because apart from God's grace to salvation I took wouldn't even seek God for what I was and am incapable of both acquiring for myself or giving to others.

I as a Baptist and believe in Baptism under the water, how does the Catholic Church and its spinoff religions believe sprinkling a baby is baptism. Not my KJV bible. A baby has no sin. Before baptism one has to be saved through the shed blood of Jesus Christ by talking to God and asking for forgiveness and meaning it. After salvation, then baptism to take away the sins of the world and rising up from the water into a new life giving to you by the Grace of God the Father through Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. " The commandments are there to show us that we can't ever perfectly follow them all, but Christ Jesus has forgiven our sins, and has shown us the only way to heaven, which is through belief in Him. The commandments cannot condemn those who are saved by grace through faith.

If you do everything you can to keep all of the commandments but then unknowingly do one bad thing, they have all been broken. The commandments show us that we need faith and God's grace to be saved. The rich man that claimed to have kept all of the commandments but ended up loving wealth more than God, was sent away. Keeping the letter of the law is not possible without the forgiveness of sins.
