I remember hearing this song for the first time years ago and really loving it, so I got super excited when I saw this in my subscriptions. I remember understanding that there was some deep, emotional feeling to this song but I didn’t quite comprehend what it was back then. I really love getting to not only listen to your versions of these songs, but also revisit music I listened to when I was younger that I can understand and relate to much better now. When I read your description on instagram of why you wanted to cover this song and what the video meant, I knew I had to wait until I was in a good frame of mind to watch it. I had a very similar experience. Idk if you remember but I started watching your videos back when I was dating a guy who, didn't treat me the best. (I later realized I'm gay so.. there's also that) There are a few songs that I LOVE but are still very emotional for me to listen to because of that time in my life. I imagine it's similar for you and honestly, I had to pause the video a couple of times because I saw the pain on your face and it just.. got me. The simultaneous love/hate of a particular song or memory is so difficult and I want to thank you for being so vulnerable in this video. Makes me feel like... it's okay to still feel CRAP about smth that happened years ago while also healing at the same time. I don't know how but, you always manage to teach me something just when I need it most

This song, I don't know I can feel how raw you are in your singing, even in the recorded back vocals. It's full of what you said a tide of emotions. Ripples of sadness, and joy and inspiration mixed with turmoil and anger? I don't know that's what I felt. It was very...pulling. I honestly hate this song but I this cover as added so much more appreciation for it because you made it less 1D and more 4D in what it could be about. I don't know...it's amazing. You're amazing.
