any world that is too old will gen like that. it is the chunk border marking different ver of MC in the world. The new chunks should be the safe place, where as the older chunks may contain things from B4 the update, with a chance to bug out if old chunks did not update correctly.

Idk if this is creepy or not but one time i was playing minecraft and i decided to start a new world. I did the starter things and went exploring the world. I found a Village and looted it and continued my journey. However I soon got into the same village again. I went to different directions multiple times but even after that i always ended up in the same village. It felt like a loop. I tried going to an opposite direction, just running straight, no turns and Still got into the same village. I eventually got tired of the ”loop” and i deleted the world.

The first Minecraft world I created. I believe I built next to a small body of water and I guess I wasn’t paying too much attention and didn’t notice when it happened but I looked and there was like an entire ocean. I remember thinking I don’t remember there being this much water around here. Freaked me out. Seemed like chunks were become water blocks and the water was getting closer to the base. Ended up creating a new world and totally forgot about it. Still have it though.
