Probably because with no sunlight and possibly the fact that in reality that place would be dark, the eyes wouldn’t be able to process light well hence a change in eye color.

PuppyPlays 554 No! Later on in MCSM season 2 ep 4, if you refuse the deal, Jack will survive. Spoiler alert When you and Radar are attacking the enderman and it let Jesse fall, Jack will save you just as he did when in the other ending. If you do give your sword, Jack stays in Fred's Keep and then he will save Jesse from falling. The only difference is 1. You will not see Jack until he saves you scene. 2. He will get a bit of a new design because of the fall. (I don't know if you saw it already or you haven't but, here it is.

This choice reminds me of the scene where you have to make a choice to save the founder or back up Lukas. Lukas tells Jesse to save the founder and if you do it Lukas will fall. In season 2, Jack tells Jesse that they can find another way and if you don’t give the sword just to find another way, Jack will fall. So if you listen to Lukas in E5 and Jack in E12 telling the choice they want you to do, they both fall.

If you give your sword away that means your saving jack and keeping him from loseing his grip or if you refuse to make a deal then that means you're keeping your iron/dimond sword and making jack lose his grip
