Like how you go from an idea that you want to convey through poetry, to how you decide on what structure feels rights, and how to gauge if the rhythm feels right if you’re not using a very rigid form like a sonnet or perfect rhyme scheme

i absolutely support raising money for charity, especially these ones, but i’m worried this may be considered an illegal lottery. i don’t want it to get taken down or anything to happen to any funds already raised. just something to be aware of. i’m only vaguely familiar with the laws around it in the UK, and not sure if US ones apply since youtube is based in the US.

So I did some research beforehand and from what I understand: You need a gambling licence if you’re expecting to earn over 20,000 or it’s for personal profit. If it’s under that and a fundraiser for charity you just need to find out what your local council’s rules are - mine’s website said that they only required you to apply for a licence if you’re fundraising as part of a society (especially if you’re raising funds for yourself) which I’m not. Other than that I followed all the rules I could find set out online - limited number of tickets, no alcohol as prizes if minors can buy tickets, prize value under I think it’s £600 if I’m remembering correcting, and not making a personal profit (there is an allowance for taking money to cover expenses but I’m not doing this). So I’ve followed all the rules as far as I’m aware :)

Raising funds for charity and supporting important causes are admirable, but they really do nothing but provide temporary relief in the grand scheme of things as the universe remains uncaring to our struggles and the hard work we put in.

Better to provide a temporary relief than do nothing at all. For example, there is no way I, or the vast majority of people in the world, can do to stop the abuse of women or FGM (especially for African women and girls), but one person giving to a charity such as ForwardUK could do far more than1,000 people doing a low-effort no-cost post on social media.
