Alghazanth are and have been my favorite band for many years. My favorite memory is an email chain I had with Gorath a few years back. Great, kind guy with a mind perfectly suited to music.

Ihan jo ennen videon kattomista on todettava et itelle Wreath Of Thevetat & Vinum Intus on ylivoimasia julkaisuja bändiltä. Kotamäen mukaantulo nosti koko bändin dynamiikan ihan eri levelille, Mikon murinoissa ja rääkynöissä on niin paljon enempi potkua. Sekin varmasti selittää paljon, vaikkakin kunnia silti OG laulajalle joka vielä loppua kohden klaaras tontin. Onko äijällä tietoo kuka soittaa Aethyrick:ssä kitaraa? Järvinen siellä kannuttelee mut häiritsee tää kitaristi. Kelannu vaan et onko bändissä joku muukin ex- Alghazanthlainen kun pääpiru ite, vai sit muuten vaan riffit & melodiat on joltain osin tutun kuulosia..

WoT oli itselläkin suosikki pitkään. En tiedä Aethyrickin kokoonpanoa, en ole jaksanut lähteä selvittämään. Käsitys vain, että Sami rummuissa, mutta toisesta en tiedä. Uskoisin, että on jotain muuta kuin Algha-miehistöä, mutta mistä näistä tietää. Ihan varmasti joku pitkäaikaisempi skenejannu.

Alghazanth , one of the best Finnish black metal bands along with Satanic Warmaster IMO! I am lucky to have ''Dim Is The Moon's Light'' tape. It's probably my most precious item in my collection,anyway for me their best is Thy Aeons Envenomed Sanity just because of the cold (or frozen) atmosphere it gives and also some rerecorded songs are on it.AND obviously the majestic keyobards make this album special. I AGREE WITH YOU on Subliminal Antenora being their weakest tho(STILL PRETTY DECENT) , it has some cool riffs and great songs but overall is all over the place and the production is bad.

Oh man, Alghazanth! So happy you made a video about their discography. I remember when I stumbled over Wreath Of Thevetat in 2014. I listened to music on KZbin and randomly this was played and I was like "oh, this sounds pretty interesting" and so I listened to this album again and again. Somehow it seems I'm still the only one who knows this band... 😄 I think the word "majestic" fits pretty well with their music. Especially their Last couple of albums. They managed to sound majestic but without being overloaded with all these synphonic elements. They're more like a add-on which lays like a mystical veil over the Instrumentals. Plus, they got this icecold production but without being Lo-Fi. You may recognize.. I LOVE this band. And my favorite album is, of course, the first I listened to: Wreath of Thevetat

Woodcut Records recommended Alghazanth to me (hails to M.S.). Was that back in the fucken 1990's??! Time goes evilly fast.

Wreath of thevetat > The Three faced Pilgrim > Vinum Intus > Eight Coffin Nails. Also, shout out to the LP AdraMelekaus, "Words Envenomed" is a fucking killer track. My favorite band, and i am sad to see them gone, but at least they finished on a high note.

I think what makes them interesting is the level of intensity mixed with symphonic elements. It’s rare to find that combination. The debut album would probably be my pick!

I was in high school and were just getting into metal. In 9th grade i had progressed to black metal and of the albums i bought that time was Subliminal antenora. I blasted that cd so much and still to this day Come back to it. Especially the song an ode to the bringer of chaos, i like to blast it in the car driving to work. If i win, i would like to get the last one, eight coffin nails. Thanks to Alghazanth for the memories!

I like how Alghazanth incorporated melody without losing the black metal edge. It's easy to go softer when going melodic, but they hit a good balance. I'd love to own their first album, Thy Aeons Envenomed Sanity, just because it's not in my collection yet. It would be cool to have all their stuff, be it their best albums or not.

Wooow. Have been a fan of this great band for almost a decade. One of my favorite BM bands. The Finnish black metal scene would not be the same if this band didn`t exist. The first album I have ever heard from this great band is Wreath of the thevetat. And it is also my favorite one. On that album they catch the moments and melodies like the whole world is falling apart like great monumental waterfall. Amazing. I have also all their albums on cds (all 1st presses of course :)) and I am very proud of it. Thanx a lot for this great historic recapitulation.

Always known about these guys, never listened to them. I have been thinking about getting their albums since I saw Woodcut were re-releasing their discography, but never pulled the trigger on it. Going to have to look into these guys now. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm never really "wooed" by symphonic BM or any symphonic "____" metal.. But Alghazanth is different. Melodic but still has the cold harshness. Great vid!

Meillä oli Jyväskylässä Sepänkeskuksella sama treenis aikoinaan Alghazanthin kanssa. Siellä kellarissa soitti useitakin black metal-bändejä kuten Unveiled, Ravendusk, Funeris Nocturnum, Dark Liturgy, Obscurant jne. Kaikkia on oikeastaan todella vaikea edes muistaa. Mut ne oli hyviä aikoja ne. Mielestäni paras Alghazanthin levy on Subliminal Antenora, joka on toisinaan jopa ihan lytättykin. Edes bändin tyypit ei itse siitä pahemmin välitä, mutta mulle se huokuu sellaista mustaa energiaa, jota black metallilta haen. Ihan siis top-5 kamaa mitä tulee suomalaiseen bm:ään. Ja Järvinen on todella hyvä, sekä omaperäinen rumpali. Ps. Oli mukava turista Steelfesteillä, Rauta!

Back in 1999, I discovered Alghazanth from Lost Disciple Records in the U.S. Thy Aeons is the cd I bought and still listen to it today. It's too bad they broke up, great Finnish melodic BM. Not familiar with their later releases though. If I'm one of the winners, I'd want their second album(cd)

They called they metal,majestic black metal. Good band.8 coffin nails is good album! I have that album too and t- shirt. Ok must ranking albums. One name what comes my mind now is vinum intus album, that is great.i take my time and ranging Them.,heh you read that majestic black metal, I wrote before you read that. Blastmore from thyrane in vocals one song in One album, I dont remember what album that wos first or second album.

From my point of view best Alghazanth's album is Thy Aeons Envenomed Sanity from 1999, it has the rawness that I like so much.

I'm not going to lie, I don't have any of the band's records, although I've heard the songs and the name is familiar, so i can't answer the question correctly. If I am one of the lucky winners, the label or you could choose a record for me (kind of sell the band for me) through which I might get more of the band's production. I am constantly trying to expand my black metal knowledge and different styles and there is a big unknown area here.
