It's early 2025 right now and in November of this year Storm Of The Light's Bane will be exactly 30 years old. To this day, one of the most memorable, extraordinary and spectacular albums in Metal history! A true lesson in music, unreal quality in each of its tracks. A timeless masterpiece, a classic that will be celebrated and revered always and forever!

the intro is a great soundtrack for putting a coffin into the ground. just imagine it: dark, windy, moist afternoon, people wearing black all around the gravesite, a sloppy priest babbling stuff just for the sake of it, a few crows in a tall tree in the background, the wife looking pale and numb, small children looking disoriented and anxious, aaaaand you in a coffin feeling cold and shivering, going into the ground while this is playing in the background.

Well to be fair it was fairly easy back then to have a unique sound when there were like 10 bands, it's really mostly thanks to them just being the first to do any of it. I saw dissection for the first time in 1994 at the London marquee. Supporting cradle of filth. You’d not long released the somberlain. Just a special show! And I was privileged to of been there for it. Special times 😉🤘🏻🇸🇪

Frankly I don't see much of this band in the public mainstream Media except in few metal magazines way back. Maybe its because the band is seriously at work in the studio making True Black Metal album masterpiece like this. This is one of the finest craftsmanship in metal music.

Nights Blood - Lyrics [Verse 1] Night haunts and evil lurks in every corner Like plague it's spreading - I behold Loneliness, yet with you autumn night as guest But can you hear my cries? Permeate me, oh night, as with the forest you did For heart is cold, cold as ice [Pre-Chorus] I drown in the colour of your eye For a black heart will only find beauty in darkness I breathe it's eternity to absorb the sky Where the shadows of death may lie Chorus] Feel the call - Nocturnal desire Sorrow's breath - Enchanting cries Night's blood - Taste damnation's wine Feel the pain - Nocturnal desire The devil's path of dark delight Night's blood - Pure damnation's wine [Bridge] Eyes are glowing, burn as hell's fire Mark thy wisdom in my mind [Verse 2] Those who never was born But whose darkness eternally Devastated the goodness built up through milleniums No time passed, our victory is eternal Our scorn, our silence... [Verse 3] A heart dies drowning in the night's blood Everlasting malice for the wicked soul Can't resist the night's sweet blood [Verse 4] Loneliness in the embrace of you, autumn night The night that froze my cries Deep into the woods glows a fading light I sold my soul, cold as ice [Pre-Chorus] I drown in the colour of your eye For a black heart will only find beauty in darkness I breathe it's eternity to absorb the sky Where the shadows of death may lie [Chorus] Feel the call - Nocturnal desire Sorrow's breath - Enchanting cries Night's blood - Taste damnation's wine Feel the pain - Nocturnal desire The devil's path of dark delight Night's blood - Pure damnation's wine Jon Nodveigt 1995

I had always wanted to have this in my collection, but compared to The Somberlain, this was little bit trickier to track down. But one day in the record store in the used CD section I saw what I believed was The Somberlain due to the slipcase, but when I slipped the CD case out I noticed that it was Storm of the Light’s Bane. And I bought it at the spot. One of the best record store finds ever!
