after my first play with the DSO shell kit I just get more parts and better modules so I make a new video with a detailed instruction how to power your DSO shell with a LiIon battery. With those parts I have plenty of space in the case for even a bigger battery.
Just watch it until the end there is a giveaway for my viewers.
If you want to support me and the channel please use the links, when you want something from banggood.com I will get some percent of your revenue.

This is a very cool mod for this small scope. You don't need to be by a power source for it to work. Good video and great instructions.

Thanks so much for the improved DSO150 battery project. I plan to build one of these myself. I also appreciate the extra effort it takes to do your videos in English. Your English is quite good and you usually use the right word even when you think that you didn't :).

Very nice modification only thing that could make it better is a wireless coil so you can wireless charge it as well. Also great kit you put together to give away everything even smd leds. I'm not sure it something you would like but have you looked in to building race drones or and drone type really? 5inch race quadcopters are affordable now to build its a nice hobby if your in to technology. Flying is great too but takes a little time to learn and along time to master.

Hey youel I have parts laying around to make it maybe wireless it need some work but I will give it a try I let you know after it work. Thank you for your idea. I'm interested in drones but never build one yet, maybe one time I will play with one of this.

Congratulations, mostly for idea, it could be used for many other purposes! As I saw, you connect the battery on the B+- of the charger, and output of the charger (OUT+-) on the + and - of the input of the step up power supply module, over the existing power on/off switch. Is this mean that the input voltage on charger is not critical (to be 5V)? I thing it isn`t, but I would like you to confirm. Nice work, I like it!
@thsinger
@thsinger 6 жыл бұрын
The Board I used is a charge and protection module, Input is 5V normally it has a micro USB port to connect a charger but I wanted to keep the original port to charge it. I just removed the traces on the scope pcb to the switch so the switch is isolated from the rest of the circuit. I place the switch between the protection board and the stepup converter because even when the scope is off the step up converter will draw some energy. Hope you understand better now.

Ok, thanks for answer. It wasn`t clear if the input voltage can be variable, because you keep the original port to charge. I intend to use this idea for several purposes, it`s good idea.

If I win I expect you to jump out of the box and help me put the kit together. You better bring your soldering iron too. Mine I don't have any good tips for it. I had a heck of a time building the DSO150 kit here without your tricky mods. I'm thinking about just duck taping a 9V battery to the back of mine.

13 years newer then mine are. Though mine started going on me about when I was 40, or so. Before that I had eyes like microscopes too. I think they call it macular degeneration?

Hi. How about using the internals from one of those usb rechargeable 9v batteries. The tiny circuit board handles the charging of the lipo from the inboard usb port and boosts the voltage to 9V when outputting from the lipo. I guess it will depend on the current consumption of the dso150 and the max output load of the circuit board. I've ordered a dso150 a few days ago and just ordered one of the batteries to have a play.
