BIGGEST MISTAKE of GIVENCHY was letting go of Clare Waight Keller, THIS SHOW IS nothing short of A MASTERPIECE and each of the clothes that walked down that runway told a story all of them them together is a wonderfully written novel, EVERYONE'S eyes are on thisss show too bad GIVENCHY went for something moree streeetwear after that what CLARE did was nothing short of MONUMENTAL for the brand this is soo CLASSIC and would never ever go out of style.

etherial yet grounded . classic Parisian givenchy style. alot of reimagined classic silhouettes. very very givenchy. I can see a modern hepbern rebirthed.

This collection shows some good pieces but good pieces don't make a collection great. One of the first problem I have noticed is that the pieces didn't seemed to have translated well from drawing to clothes. One can tell by how the materials reacted as the model walk, like the top-dress at 2:28 as well as the guy at 5:48. Some looks are very bad, like this dress at 6:11, boring, like the last look or gimmicky, like the look at 5:27. This one specially looks like they tried to give some oomph to a boring tuxedo with left-offs from the look at 6:11. But I think the crown for worst look goes to 4:39. The overall feel is of a lack of cohesion. Yes, tuxedos and colors can create a sort of link between each looks. That being said, I wonder if this perception is the result of an unsuited design team. Let's speculate: in the army of stylists composing the design team, some are probably still from Ricardo's era. Some could be from Lanvin after Elbaz departure and some might have left other houses too. Clare probably left with the designers she likes at Chloé too. As for the nice pieces, the first shows up at 6:28 then you have 6:37. I would like to mention a dress shown at 4:14 that looks chic but rather boring at first. I invite those who have took the time to read my comment to go see the picture and close-ups of this look using this link www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/fall-2018-couture/givenchy/slideshow/collection#17. The skirt is made out of faux feather lamé.. it's very beautiful. Overall, it's Clare Waight Keller best show. I still don't think she is a good fashion designer, I'd say she is more of a professional in clothes design. She knows how to make a collection, she knows the recipes and get pay to deliver.

Guess you are not a huge fan of black colored clothing. This is more of an archival collection.

the Voice in your head can you tell me if this answer of yours is concerning my comment ?

Yes it was a quick summary in response to your comment. This collection was meant to honor Givenchy's past work so it did look like it lacked a concept if you didn't know that beforehand. The design was also cohesive in the sense that you can tell a woman designed it for women. There's more restraint, less wild designs, and the clothing is more about giving women a dignified look while protecting them at the same time. And if you see CWK's past collection for Givenchy, you can see that this collection is an extension of her vision and focus on tailoring. I agree that some clothing seemed to obstruct the wearers' movement. The collection could use more editing and remove the bronze and white dress. But on the whole I like most pieces. The first piece hooked me. You seemed like you preferred bright colors because the pieces you liked had bright colors so I took it that you didn't like black. I find that the black accentuated the shape really nicely and it went well with the metallic and scale-like textures. I think Clare approached this collection the way Raf Simons approached his first Dior collection - introducing minor tweaks to the existing designs and adding interesting textures. Clare introduced the hood and I thought it worked well with the last dress, which was a nod to the iconic dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

I was very specific on what I did not liked about this show and at no moment I complained about black clothes. A guy just bellow witch name is Logan W said something about funeral clothes, maybe your comment would have been more appropriate for him. In 2001, Viktor and Rold did an all black collection and it was quite good. Raf aproched to Dior was a 3 weeks time approche. can we even call it an approche ? As for clare being a woman designing for women, Pheobe was a woman and she was never irrelevant. One of the problem with Givenchy was well resumed by McQueen; Mr Givenchy was boring. So when people talk about hommage its always strange because he got most of his interesting stuff from Balenciaga. As for CWK's past collection to the house, all she did was to sell us Heidi Sliman men vision from ten years ago and a softer Mugler type of woman. Over all i think at this point we will agree we wont agree.

Not impressed. That first look was done for the movie 'Funny Face' back in 1957. Nothing looked fashion forward.

Very poor attention to silhouette and line. Really. This fails on almost every look. It's unfortunate.
