In a similar situation, I was asking the, why did I get so lucky question. A nurse told me that everyone's journey is different and to not let others' journeys deter me from mine. I'm still wrapping my head around it, but it did make me feel better. We must accept the blessings we are given.

Mama of 3 here! My eldest son is 7.5 (turning 8 in 2 weeks 🥹), my daughter just turned 6 and my youngest is 3.5, I will be very honest, going from 1 to 2 is rough. Going from 2 to 3 was so much easier!! Having a great co-parent and support system is key, as well as making your mental and physical health a priority(something I struggle significantly with, and having it all on my shoulders). You will do fantastic, LaLa!! And Ocean will be a huge help! Just remember to include her in everything, you’ll be surprised just what all she can do and how much more you two will bond together. 💜 Also, with Ocean being up late, her nap schedule needs to be moved up. Try getting her down/winding down by 11:45, so she is asleep by 12:30/1 pm at the latest. This way, she’s up no later than 3, 3:30 pm and will be ready to start winding down by 7:30 (bath time, then laying down reading a book, watching Seinfeld, etc.) and lights out for sleep by 9 pm. It will also help to have her getting up between 7 am and 8 am (or earlier) - she will be more than ready to go to bed by 9 pm every night lol!

That was so touching how Easton burst into tears. That just said so much about his character. I’m a mother to a one year old girl and went through IVF as well and only fully understood how hard that journey is for anyone who goes through it until I went through it myself. So the fact that he is a single man without kids and can be so compassionate that way for Lala’s friend was so beautiful.

Kid tips from a mom of 2 (ages 17 &13) you need to have use up the kids energy and remove any late naps or long naps. It's crappy at first but it will be totally worth it! Especially with 2 kids. Set your boundaries and follow through on your word.

I’ve had a strict bedtime routine for my kids for the longest time. Bedtime stories really help a lot. Warm milk also helps get them sleepy (they might want honey to sweeten it). Pasta or any grain will sit heavy in their stomach and help them sleep. I’d give little prizes if they’d stay in their room until I got them out.

I married an Air Force boy that was a single dad. He had an 18 month old son. I didn't want to be pregnant ever. I thought perfect! We already have a family. He wanted more children, and he didn't want a big age difference. His son was my perfect kid. I was still in college and not ready. I was procrastinating. We got married. The traditional shit. I wanted me pregnant asap. I agreed as he was such a good dad. I couldn't get pregnant. I had one miscarriage. Then I got pregnant again. This time I got stuck on bed rest. Said biological mom comes back when I was 5 months pregnant and said she wants her son back. Mind you she gave him to my husband when he was 6 months old. He is 4 at this time. By this time we are a family. Baby sister on the way. You just don't know what it feels like to have your child taken from you. I understand totally. I support you.

CONGRATS 💖💖💖 Former embryologist here, and just a little bit of info: that stuff dripping out after your IUI wasn’t semen - it was the lubricant used for the catheter (that long skinny thing). The semen is deposited directly into your uterus, and not your vagina. That’s why it’s called an “intrauterine insemination” (IUI). Once in the uterus, it’s very unlikely that it will drip out 😉 Just thought I would share. Most people wouldn’t know that stuff, so your first thought was completely valid. Congrats again 💕

Lala just remember this saying Fed is best. So if the breastfeeding isn’t serving you this next time around, please don’t beat yourself up for using formula. As long as that sweet baby is fed , they will be happy and healthy And it’s also important for you to be happy and healthy. You have a wonderful village around you. This baby is going to be so loved. ❤

I’m behind on episodes and catching up. I usually just listen to the podcast, but wanted to comment on this episode in particular. First, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! So happy for you and wishing you a healthy, smooth, joyful, and beautiful pregnancy! The talk about breastfeeding was hilarious. But it’s true that as a working mama, breastfeeding becomes a bit more challenging. Stress plays a factor and time too. I only have one kid (and they are nearly 20! Oy!), but I breastfed exclusively for 5 months before introducing solid food (had a couple of moments where formula made an appearance early on but it was momentary) and I worked full-time. I had mine via c-section and had to be back to work after 9 weeks (thank GOD my mom lived with us; and my kid and mom grew to be thick as thieves those two ❤️). I’m thankful beyond words that I worked in a department that was so supportive of my wish to be a breastfeeding mama that I was able to pump twice a day in one of small conference rooms (I’d post a sign on the door so I could have privacy). This allowed me to breastfeed for 16 months and still work and not lose my damn mind or develop mastitis. We stopped at 16 months because my kid was ready to stop. It timed out beautifully. So sometimes with being a working mom having the support and a comfortable place to be able to either pump or feed your child is helpful. But I do know and understand that this doesn’t always work out like this for every mama, whether it’s a (lack of) milk issue or a work /schedule issue and that’s totally ok too. Everyone has their own journey. Ok that’s a novella-sized comment.😁

Question Lala , will you have to maybe do another breast augmentation after you’re done breastfeeding? Forgive my ignorance as I don’t know how all that works with implants.
@fenix_down7 ай бұрын
No, implants do not have to be redone as a result of breastfeeding. They will still be there. The milk ducts would not cross with anything that was implanted. *Sometimes* a boob job can interfere with breastfeeding itself but that has to do with the placement of the incisions and whether the "goods" are going over or under the muscle. But someone like Lala, I would expect to go to a good surgeon and very doubtful to have these kinds of issues. But even then, would not need a re-do after baby, because that would impact the function but not the form if that makes sense.
