That was a classy move by LFG. Sometimes shore anglers don't have the luxury to fish from a boat and alot of needy people depend on fishing to feed their family. Taking care of each other is what it's all about.

Nice of you to give a couple fish to that guy. You made his day for sure. I usually do catch and release, but can't resist taking home a couple sheephead. They are my favorite eating fish.

I am catch and release about 99% of the time, but shore fishing u tend to meet quite a few people that are less fortunate and looking for a meal. I have seriously kept about 2 fish in my life for me and about 15 for complete strangers lol. U probably made that dudes day. cool.

Kyle Foos on the bright side, they fight pretty nice. I catch them a lot in deep water when I'm chasing smallmouth, I always think I've hooked a roaming beast of a largemouth. We call them sheephead, not the worst eating creature.

So LFG, I was fishing some Gizzard shad spawn (I think, they were big) on Lake Okeechobee this week. It seemed like in the morning you could get like 1 bite and some trash fish (down there its gar and mudfish) similar to you guys catching the drum. But the evening bite is incredible. You will find them starting to school up on the shad spawn at like 2 hours before sun down and its an absolute frenzy. Mind you Okeechobee is full on post spawn, so the schoolies are out and about. Don't know anything about where you're at, but like you said, I would try night or evening.

About the docks and shaded area.. I thought that would work for me too and man it was tough on me too bro.. I thru in craws, curly tail worms, trick worms, ned rigs, chatter bait and even a suspended jerkbait and only caught two dinks.. real early in the morning while the water was still very choppy.. but like you, after that sun came all the way out and the choppy water slow rolled in.. that was it.. nothing else would bite..and same thing as you too.. the shad were everywhere...
