Also, she's clearly not a fan of the prime minister or his family members because of how critical they've been to the emperor throughout the empire's history. Hubert lives and breathes for Edelgard (you can't even recruit him if you go for any route besides Crimson Flower). I am Ferdinand von Aegir is loyal to Edelgard only if Byleth is or Byleth hasn't recruited him out of the Black Eagle house. Edelgard doesn't value his insights and sees his as a nuisance. She doesn't care if they get along, she just doesn't want them in her way. For Hubert, that's not an issue, because again, he lives and breathes for her. I am Ferdinand von Aegir gets in her way if she so much as breathes in the wrong direction, and Hubert doesn't like that, hence, if she has to choose between the two, she's going to pick her loyal puppet over her most overt critic.

Hubert devotes his life too Edelgard and would drink her bath water with a straw if she asked him too and goes to great lengths to please her or make her life easier even if she doesn't want him too. Meanwhile, as the son of the Prime Minister and future Prime Minister Ferdinand is constantly trying to show off and prove he is better than Edelgard to challenge her claim to the throne to try and make it so the Prime Minister will have more power in the Empire so he makes everything a one sided competition against her. Everything.
