Pretty interesting video. I was born with unilateral cataracts, and science seems to have made great strides since then. My hope is that others like Jason can be given good sight without the danger of developing glaucoma because of the surgery.

I was also born with bilateral cataracts 43yrs ago. They didn't know about cataracts INSIDE lenses at this stage so I had many surgeries as an infant, called the needling technique, where they attempted to remove the cataract from the outside... but then realised it was inside, so remove the lenses all together when I was 18mths old. I wore super thick glasses until getting lens implants when I was 21. Sadly, I passed this condition onto 2 of my children. They had their lenses removed at 5wks old ... and have worn contact lenses since they were 8wks old

My daughter has bilateral congenital cataracts. Thanks for posting this. They have still not determined a syndrome. I think I will try to send a message to the Dr who does the genetic research. She has a variety of other struggles but is doing well.

My son has also congenital cataract. He got operated when he was 2 months old. I am very much worried about his eyesight

I have the same problem after operation in both my eyes my vision in right eye is 6/6 but in left without specs 2/60 (very poor)

I had congenital cataracts and I had them removed. I have to wear glasses because I can't get artificial lenses because of my optic nerve damage in my left eye. Also because of the surgery I got glaucoma from it and now I am I on drops
