I'm also watching it again on Hulu. I forgot how much I love the show. And I recently found out Josh is a musician. He's got a great voice for singing.

I'm not sure i've actually told anyone that, but... there was a time in life when i had to decide what i will do for the rest of it, simply choosing a career for myself. I've had no idea what would be good or whatever and simultaneously i've been watching HIMYM, and Ted seemed to be doing good... long story short: I am an architect now. This is both a blessing and a curse. Thanks, Josh, for both. I truly love this guy. He seems awesome.

I’m so glad the algorithm sent this on my way ❤ on the second listen already, will study this podcast thoroughly. I can’t believe I was completely clueless about this side of Josh, but it does make a lot of sense how parts of his real self inspired the Ted character and explains vastly why I always admired him so much ❤ Will follow this channel with great interest from now on ❤

Thank you, Josh, it almost felt like you were directly talking to me… After rewatching HIMYM and hitting that abrupt end, the need arose to fulfill that seeming lack of content, that underlying somewhat nothingness (i believe it‘s our own being we mistake for an actual nothing) a reoccurring struggle… and I found this talk and I am so positively surprised on what an actual nice, humble and loving being you are and I am grateful for you sharing your troubles, addictions and fears, because I could really find myself in your words and I feel like I’m not quite so alone with these troubles of life and identity… Thank you very much❤️

Never seen this podcast and I just randomly started watching HIMYM with my wife for the first time. He seems genuine on the show and I get a funny feeling that he's one of those people that uses an element of his real soul in his craft. With saying that...man. I stopped drinking June 27th, 2019. Why that date? Well ya see, I was in a toxic relationship; she would gaslight me into arguments after I had to walk on eggshells with my every word & would frequently out of nowhere give me the "dude, fuck this I'm done I need to be single" and call me two hours later. I was distraught and nervously awaiting her pulling out of the relationship everyday, so I fed that nervousness with alcohol. I drank so much and stressed so hard that I thought it was the fourth of July..... imagine that. Such a drunk losing track of time that I bought $200 of alcohol to get drunk June 27th bc thought it was Independence Day. It started with WANTING to be excited for the 4th of July, but then....this person I was with (who also wanted me to start drinking with her in the first place) screamed and laughed calling me a crude name for someone with a mental handicap. She said I was so stupid and it was because I'm not fully white (I'm mixed, mixed parent & white parent). That evening, I finished my two blue moons, walked out and never came back. Now today I'm a 34 year old nondrinking man that is married to someone that has only ever tried to love me, has two beautiful daughters that look at my wife as a second mother truly, owner of a new Camaro and recently - a homeowner. My life flourished when I stopped numbing myself with alcohol. And to this day, I often tell my wife that I don't miss hangovers, or spending the next day vomiting and exhausted, not being able to control myself or anything good.

Great Guest - I feel like I've been on a similar life-arc to Josh and I found myself enthralled in the topics you discussed - especially growth vs depth you guys touched on. To me Josh has outgrown being "Ted Mosby" who I once felt I used to relate to so much...
