While I visited Waylon in Texas for the first time, I just HAD to do something NORMAL with him, so I opted to give him a bath!:)

Thank you Katie, you sure picked a great horse. He is beautiful. I can understand why you are going to keep him at HighPoint. At least you can go and see him whenever you have some spare time. With all the mares you have at your place, keeping a stud at your place isn't really a good idea. Once you've been around him and handled him more, you'll probably bring him to your farm some time in the future. At least you know where he is and the kind of care he will be getting. Just started watching your channel. His personality reminds me of a young stallion I owned years ago. So mellow and people oriented. Please continue to ride him and let him feel useful . She's probably scared of him. Studs are unpredictable,we had one from baby and raised him and ride him in parades with mares until 3 hrs ago he had cancer so he had to be out down. It was difficult decision for us but was best for him as 22 yr old. You have to know what out doing with a stud

​@@SouthernLady70Kristen rode him right before or right after the sale. He's a giant puppy dog... a very sweet boy. Yes, he gets a little mouthy bc he's a stallion, but this guy is pretty "kid broke". Most western pleasure horses are. I think Katie is just being respectful to him bc he is out of shape and retired from riding (for the most part). Katie will def be riding him soon.... i bet during the winter she will ride him even if it's just one or two laps around the arena.

That's not true about most quarter horses are mouthy. If one is raised correctly and ride out right they aren't. I have raised and owned horses all my life. I have owned a stud for years and mine was very well behaved and my kids,grandkids ride him and yes we need with him. No reason this horse can't be rode now. I have worked with race horsrs,many farms as well and it's how you treat them. She's scared of him and that's ok.

One thing I’ll never understand about horse people are auctions. They claim to love these animals w their entire being, yet they sell em off to the highest bidder without knowing anything about the person, or what the horses will actually be used for, & how they’ll be treated. Luckily, Katie is a good owner, but just spending absurd of $ doesn’t equate producing good lives for the animals
